1. Enabling the extension in Magento In System > Manage Modules, check Smart Reports and click "Save modules settings" on the top right.
2. Generating a report 1. Select a Report Profile and click Load Report Profile. 2. Select a Range and click Save and Generate Report on the top right. Reports > Smart Reports - the Configuration tab

4. Managing report profiles A report profile contains environment settings for your reports. The extension allows you to use multiple report profiles with different settings. Moreover, you can use one report with multiple profiles. "Loaded report profile" shows you the profile you can manage now. "Report Profile" allows you to select another profile. "Load Report Profile" and "Delete Report profile" buttons apply the function to the item selected in the "Profile" dropdown. The "Store View" dropdown enables you to use export for selected stores. 4. Managing report profiles You can save your current report profile without exporting. If you want to create a new report profile you should type a new name into "Profile Name" field and click "Save". An XSL template creates reports from raw data. Each profile contains an XSL file. You can upload templates from the extension package. Reports > Smart Reports - the Configuration tab
5. Configuring reports You can filter data for reports by order status, order number, customer ID, product ID and order date. Please note you can create filters with empty report. The extension allows you to quickly set up a date range for your report. Moreover the extension updates dates every time you start a report. If cron starts a report for "Last 7 days", every Monday you ll get actual weekly reports every Monday automatically. Custom range fixes dates for reports. Important: the extension uses invoiced items or orders for the majority of report calculations. If you create a report based on test data (usually not invoiced properly) you may get empty reports. 5. Configuring reports The report file will be placed on local server in "Path folder" with filename "File Prefix"_YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.html You can download the report when its generation is complete. The report file will be placed on remote FTP. Please note that creating an export file can take up to several minutes. You ll get an email with the Report file attached. You can edit the email template using default Magento means (System > Transactional emails). Please note that creating an export file can take up to several minutes. 5. Configuring reports The extension supports exporting in XML format. XML file is a preferred type for order migration between different Magento versions. XSL template allows you to create order export files that can be imported into 3rd party software. The automatic report generating can be started by Cron. You can get reports hourly, daily, weekly or monthly. For example to get weekly sales report by email you should set "Export by Cron" to "Each Monday", "Range" to "Last 7 days" and "Type" to "Email". 6. Configuring reports - advanced settings The tab contains options to select data for a report from orders. Order export contains invoices, shipments, etc. Usually each report uses a small number of fields from the order. The fewer fields you select, the faster report generation will be. 7. The History tab and the Processor tab The History tab contains all reports history for you to control the process. You can check every report in full detail (download the file with the report and see the list of the orders used for it). Reports > Smart Reports - the History tab
7. The History tab and the Processor tab In the Processor tab, you can see report generation progress and cancel it, if needed. Please note that report generation can take up to several minutes if you have a large number of orders. Reports > Smart Reports - the Processor tab
8. Reports Overview Sales by country report. Report based on invoiced amount without shipping and taxes. Order status ignored. Color intensivity depends on sales amount level. Actions: mouse over country will show sales amount for that country.

One Product ID can be applied for several SKU (depends on). Actions: 1. Filter by SKU shows you sku with entered substring. 2. Sorting actions for any column.

Next charts contains monthly amount of sales per SKU for each product. Actions: mouse over column to show amount and SKU details.
8. Reports Overview Sales by Region report (USA). Report based on order amounts information and DMA segments. Chart contains monthly amounts, amount for New and Returning customers and Top Cities for certain DMA. Actions: mouse over area to show details.

Chart contain monthly amounts for each Manufacturer with share more than 5% for certain period. (the value can be changed) Actions: mouse over line to show amount.

8. Reports Overview New vs Returning Customers report. Report based on order amounts information without shipping and taxes. Order status ignored. Charts contain monthly amounts and share of total amount for New and Returning customers. Actions: mouse over column to show amount and share details.
