Accessing ROMEO There are two ways to access the portal: 1.Log in to Citrix, click Web Links, and click the ROMEO icon 2.Click here for direct access and bookmark to your browser If you do not have a ROMEO Username, contact Beth Gillis.
Accessing ROMEO Preferred browsers for the ROMEO system are: Edge Google Chrome Firefox
Log in with your username and password. If you do not have a ROMEO Username, contact Beth Gillis.
Home Page - Profile
You are able to make changes to the highlighted areas of your profile. These changes will be applied to future applications. To make changes to your name and email or for changes to be made to your profile in existing applications, contact Beth Gillis.
Home Page Contact us Contact Us will provide information for the current Super User. The Super User provides support for ROMEO related issues or questions. For questions related to the REB, grants, or contracts, contact the appropriate office. For assistance with your REB submission, request a consult with the REB Facilitator.
Home Page Apply New Click Apply New to begin a new ethics application, external grant registration, or internal grant application.
ROMEO is divided into two branches: CHEO Research Ethics Board and CHEO Research Institute (Awards / Contracts). These branches are independent of each other.
Home Page - Search The Search bar allows you to quickly find a submitted file using the eight-digit ROMEO file number or a draft file using the four-digit reference number
Home Page News The News feature houses quick-links to events and information from the RI administration.
Home Page Useful Links Useful Links directs you to internal policies, research regulations, and other useful websites.
Returning Home Your browser s forward and back buttons are disabled in ROMEO Use either Home or Back to Home to leave a file and return to the home page
File Organization Files in ROMEO are divided into Applications and Events. Applications are the new files which are created for the initial application to the REB or the Grants office. Events are files created within the application used to make changes to or update the initial application (ie. Annual renewals, contract submissions, cost centre closure)
Role Blocks Your projects are organized based on your listed role as PI or any other team member (Co-investigator, Collaborator, Coordinator) If you are a reviewer for a grant or REB application, the applications for your review can be found under the Reviewer role.
Role Block Expansion: Principal Investigator and Project Team Member Both role blocks expand to show the same eight categories. Categories are highlighted red if they contain a file to action Click the corresponding arrow to expand or compress the role block
Role Block Expansion: Principal Investigator and Project Team Member Application Categories: Applications: Drafts Incomplete ethics or grants applications that have not been submitted Applications: Requiring Attention Submitted applications that have been returned as there is an error or they are incomplete Applications: Under Review Applications not yet accepted for review by the REB or Awards office Applications: Post-Review Applications accepted for review by the REB or Awards office or that are approved Applications: Withdrawn Applications the investigator has withdrawn from evaluation
Role Block Expansion: Principal Investigator and Project Team Member Event Categories: Events: Drafts Projects with incomplete event forms not yet submitted for review Events: Requiring Attention - Projects with submitted event forms that have been returned as there is an error or they are incomplete Reminders - Quick reference to REB projects with upcoming annual renewals or to funding applications requiring reporting
