As a student, you will use your network account to access your student e-mail (also referred to as the My Laurier e-mail), My Learning Space, campus computers, I: Drive and more. Quick Links: 1. I: Drive: netfiles.wlu.ca To get started with your network account, please read the directions below carefully. Logging into your Network Account for the First Time 1. Open up your browser and go to g.mylaurier.ca 1 Network Account Information for MBA Students
2. Log in using your default credentials. a. Username: Will be the first four letters of your last name, followed by the last four digits of your student ID number. Thus, if your last name is Smith and your 9-digit student ID number is 123456789, then your username will be smit6789 b. Password: The default password will be your birth date in the format of MMDDYYYY (the full year). Thus, if your birthday is March 05, 1992, then your default password will be 03051992 2a 2b a 3 3. Click Sign-in 4. You will receive an error message. Click on Click Here 4 2 Network Account Information for MBA Students
5. You must change your password after your first logon. You will not be able to access your account until you do. a. Box 1 Username: input your username b. Box 2 Current Password: type in the password you currently use to log on. (Note: If this is your first time logging on it will be the default password MMDDYYYY). c. Box 3 New Password: Follow the password requirements to create a new password. d. Box 4 New Password: Re-type your new password in the box. 6. Click on Change Password to save your changes. Note: you must follow these password requirements: Must be different from your previous password. Must be 8 characters or longer. Must not contain your username, or first/last name. Must contain characters from three of the following groups: uppercase, lowercase, digit, nonalphanumeric 5a 5b 5c 5d 6 You will now be able to use your Network account with your username and new password! 3 Network Account Information for MBA Students
Enrolling your Network Account on WLU Self Service After you have changed your password, the next step is to enroll your Network account using WLU Self Service at iam.wlu.ca 1. Go to iam.wlu.ca 2. Log on to WLU Self Service using your Network username and password. 2 4 Network Account Information for MBA Students
3. Once you log on, click on the Enrollment tab. 3 4. Create your three security questions and answers. Use the drop down menu to choose a question, and then provide the answer below. Note: These questions will be used to confirm your identity if you are locked out of your account. 4 5. Click on Update to save your questions and answers. 5 You have now enrolled your Network account in WLU Self Service! If you ever need to reset or change your password you can use this service 24/7 5 Network Account Information for MBA Students
Changing your Password in WLU Self Service 1. Go to iam.wlu.ca and log in with your Network username and password. 2. Click on the Change Password tab. 2 3. To change your password you must follow the password requirements, found in the red box. a. Box One Old Password: Input the password that you are currently using. b. Box Two New Password: Input your new password; remember to follow the password requirements. c. Box Three Confirm new Password: Input your new password again. 4. Click OK to save your changes. 3a 3b 3c 4 Your password has now been changed! You can use this service at any time to change your password. 6 Network Account Information for MBA Students
Forgot your Password? Locked your Account? You can use iam.wlu.ca to reset your password and unlock your account. Follow the directions below: 1. Go to iam.wlu.ca 2. On the right hand side of the page, click either Reset Password or Unlock Account. 2 3. It will bring you to a new page that asks for your Domain User Name. This is your Network Account username i.e. smit1234 3 4. Click Continue. 4 7 Network Account Information for MBA Students
5. If you have previously enrolled your security questions, then a new page will come up that requires you to answer your three security questions. 5 6. Type out the characters you see on your page. 6 7 7. Click Continue. 8. If you have reset your password you will be immediately prompted to create a new password.
