Introduction The PublishPartner site serves the general pubic wishing to submit a thesis and order bespoke print jobs. This guide will provide all the details on how to perform each of the supported functions of the PublishPartner Public Store. Page 3 of 22
Managing Your Account New users to the PublishPartner Public Store may need to add details to their accounts that the default logins do not provide. You will need to supply information such as contact details and addresses for both billing and shipping. Following are the details on how to manage a user account for PublishPartner. Page 4 of 22
Editing Contact Information To edit your contact information, click the Account button to the right of the Logout button. The My Dashboard page will appear, as shown here: Page 5 of 22
Managing Addresses There are a few ways you can manage your addresses within PublishPartner. You can either elect to manage them via Manage Addresses, which allows you to add your billing and shipping addresses, as well as additional addresses you may wish to ship to. Note in the above image that there is only one default billing and one default shipping address. You can also add additional addresses if you wish to send materials to addresses other than your default shipping address. You can edit and delete additional addresses, but you can only edit default billing and shipping addresses. You will want to exercise some caution when editing your addresses. If you designate an additional address as the default billing or shipping address or both you will notice that the additional address no longer appears under the Additional Address Entries heading. In the following example, both the billing and shipping address are identical: Page 6 of 22
Note that all three sample addresses appear as in Figure 4. You can elect to designate an additional address as either the default billing or shipping address, as shown below: The address that you ve now designated as the default billing or shipping address will no longer appear in the Additional Address Entries list. If you want to designate the original address as the default shipping address again, click the Change Billing Address link and tick Use as my default shipping address. Click Save when you re finished. Page 8 of 22
Thesis Submission You can submit your thesis for printing within the PublishPartner Public Store. To begin the process of uploading your thesis, click the Thesis submission button on the golden toolbar: The Thesis submission page will appear: Click the View product link to view more information or, alternatively, you can click Customise to begin the thesis submission process. Product information describes in more detail the options available to you when submitting a thesis for printing, as well as the approximate delivery time. Page 9 of 22
When you re ready to begin the submission process, click the Customise button. A pop-up window will appear that will guide you through each of the required steps. 1. To begin, click the page image with the plus sign on it: 2. Click Local File to select an A4 size document from your computer. You can only a select file in the supported formats. After you ve selected a file, an upload progress window will appear momentarily: Page 10 of 22
Your selected document will now appear next to the upload button: Notice that the number of pages appears above the document, and the name and format of the uploaded document appear below. You can upload as many documents as you like, but be aware that it s best to upload each document in the order you want them printed. For example, if you have two documents that make up your thesis, each with seven pages, the first document will be numbered from 1-7, and the second from 8-14. For instructions on how to modify the order of your printed documents, please refer to the Changing the Print Order of Your Uploaded Documents section. 3. Once you re finished uploading documents, enter the number of copies you wish to print by clicking the Total Price link in the upper right corner of the Document Builder window: 4. Click any of the links under Student Thesis properties to set the specific properties for your thesis: Page 11 of 22
5. The properties window will appear. The options are, as follows: Page 12 of 22
6. After you re finished entering the thesis properties, click OK to close the dialogue box, then Next to finalise your order. 7. You can preview what your thesis will look like when printed by clicking Proof. Be sure to tick Proof is approved before clicking Add to Cart. Page 13 of 22
Print Job Submission You can submit any document for printing within the PublishPartner site. To begin this process, click the Print job submission button on the golden toolbar: The Print job submission page will appear: Click the View product link on any of the available print jobs to view more information or, alternatively, you can click Customise to begin the print job submission process. Product information describes in more detail the options available to you when submitting a print job, as well as the approximate delivery time. Page 14 of 22
When you re ready to begin the submission process, click the Customise button. A pop-up window will appear that will guide you through each of the required steps. 1. To begin, click the page image with the plus sign on it: 2. Click Local File to select a document from your computer. You can only a select file in the supported formats. Note: If you ve elected to print in A3 format and you select an A4 document from your computer, you will receive the following warning before proceeding: The same warning dialogue box will appear if you elect to print in A4 format and you select an A3 document. After you ve selected a file, an upload progress window will appear momentarily: Follow steps 3 through 7 in the Thesis Submission section to complete the process of adding the print job to your shopping cart. Page 16 of 22
Changing the Print Order of Your Uploaded Documents It s possible to change the print order of your uploaded documents by changing the order of each individual uploaded document. 1. To re-order complete documents: click and drag the document icon to the far right of the screen if you want to move the document to the right or drag the document icon to the far left of the screen if you want to move the document to the left. 2. The pages in the complete set of uploaded documents will be automatically re-numbered. Page 17 of 22
Checking Out The check out process consists of a series of five steps, which are as follows: 1. Billing Information You can choose to ship to the selected billing address, or you can ship your items to a different address. As you move through the checkout steps, you ll see that the Checkout Progress gives you a visual indication of where you are in the process. 2. Shipping Information Note: you will only see this step if you choose to ship your course notes to a different address. Page 18 of 22
3. Shipping Method Figure 1 - Shipping Method Note: If you elect to pick up your order, please be aware that your order will not be shipped to the selected shipping address and make sure you note the campus where your course notes are available for pickup. 4. Payment Information Figure 2 - Payment Method Note: When providing your payment method, you will not pay for your item/s until you have placed your order. Page 19 of 22
5. Order Review You can continue to add items to your cart up to the point that you click Place Order, but not after. By clicking Place Order, you are committing your order with the items shown above in the cart. Page 20 of 22
Placing an Order By clicking the Place Order button, your course notes order is complete. You will then see the following confirmation page: You can click the link to view your order. You will also receive an email with your order details. Order Options There are a few options available when viewing your list of orders from the My Dashboard page: View Order and Reorder. By clicking the View Order link, you can view detailed information about the order you ve placed: Page 21 of 22
