Internet environment You must be connected to the Internet for authorization of the package. Please be sure to read and agree the License Agreement before installing this product. Operating Environment The operating environment for this product is described on the official website of the product, so be sure to review it before use. Please note that we cannot guarantee proper operation if used in any other operating environment. Also, even when used in the operating environment described, it may not be possible to use it due to differences, such as the design specifications and/or usage environments peculiar to various other software and hardware in the environment. Mac Installation Installation There are a number of installation files. After confirming that the operating environment and conditions for the product are met, go through all of the steps of the installation. Here we will explain one of the procedures as an example. 1. Double-click the installation file. The installer starts up. 2. Click Continue. 3. Click Continue. 2
4. Click Continue. 5. Click Agree. 6. Click Install. To display customization options: 3
You can customize what gets installed. Click Customize on the left and then choose what to install. 7. Enter a user name and password, then click Install Software. The installation begins. 4
The following window opens when installation has finished. With that, installation is complete. Repeat the procedures above until installation of all the files is complete. 5
Authorization Authorization In order to use VOCALOID5, it is necessary after installing the files to authorize the package by accessing the VOCALOID authorization server over the Internet. Although VOCALOID5 can be used for a period of time without activating it, once that period expires, it cannot be used anymore. Be sure to authorize the software to enjoy continuing to use it. Notes about Authorization Your computer must be connected to the Internet to perform authorization. If the computer VOCALOID5 is installed on is connected to the Internet: You can go through authorization as-is on the computer on which VOCALOID5 was installed. For details, refer to the online authorization procedures below. If the computer VOCALOID5 is installed on is NOT connected to the Internet: Use a different computer, which is connected to the Internet, to go through authorization. Launch VOCALOID Authorizer, and make sure it is on the tabs Authorization Offline. Follow the displayed operating procedure to perform Offline Authorization Procedure. 6
Online Authorization Procedure 1. Launch VOCALOID Authorizer. 2. Make sure it is on the tabs Authorization Online. 3. Enter the serial number and click Next. A number of serial numbers can be authorized at one time by entering them as shown below. 7
4. Check the names of components to be authorized and click Authorize. 5. Check and make sure the status of the components is Authorized. This completes the online authorization procedure. Close VOCALOID5 Authorizer. 8
Audio Device Settings 1. Launch VOCALOID5 Editor. 2. From the menus, select VOCALOID5 Editor Preferences... This opens the Preferences screen. 3. Configure the settings on the Audio tab for the Audio Device and Stereo Out L & R parameters applicable to your device. This completes the audio device settings. Please enjoy the VOCALOID world. 9
Deauthorization (Restoring Authorization Data) Be sure to deauthorize VOCALOID5 prior to uninstalling it. If you uninstall it without first deactivating it, when you install VOCALOID5 on a new computer, you will not be able to authorize it. Notes about Deauthorization Your computer must be connected to the Internet to perform deauthorization. If the computer VOCALOID5 is installed on is connected to the Internet: You can go through deauthorization as-is on the computer on which VOCALOID5 was installed. For details, refer to the online deauthorization procedures below. If the computer VOCALOID5 is installed on is NOT connected to the Internet: Use a different computer, which is connected to the Internet, to go through deauthorization. Launch VOCALOID Authorizer, and make sure it is on the tabs Deauthorization Offline. Follow the displayed operating procedure to perform Offline Deauthorization Procedure. 10
Online Deauthorization Procedure 1. Launch VOCALOID Authorizer. 2. Make sure it is on the tabs Deauthorization Online. 3. Select the components you wish to deauthorize and then click Deauthorize. If you wish to deauthorize all components, click Deauthorize all. 11
4. Check the content in the list and click Deauthorize. 5. Check and make sure the status in the list is Complete, and then click OK. 12
6. Check and make sure the status of the components is Unauthorized. This completes the online deauthorization procedure. Close VOCALOID5 Authorizer. 13
Uninstallation 1. The uninstaller for components like the VOCALOID5 Editor and Voicebank is inside the following folder under Applications. 2. Launch the uninstaller, and click Yes 3. Enter a user name and password, then click OK. 4. Click OK. With that, uninstallation is complete. 14
Windows Installation Installation There are a number of installation files. After confirming that the operating environment and conditions for the product are met, go through all of the steps of the installation. Here we will explain one of the procedures as an example. Since the downloaded file is ZIP file, please go through the step after unzip this file. 1. Double-click the installation file (EXE file). The installer starts up. 2. If you choose VOCALOID5 Editor, select the language to use during the installation and click OK. If you choose VOCALOID Voicebank, select the language to use during the installation and click Next >. 15
3. Click Next >. 4. Click I accept the terms of the license agreement and then click Next >. 16
5. Click Next >. If you choose Custom: You can customize what gets installed. Select Custom on the left and then click Next >. Then choose the installation location folder and the program features you wish to install. 17
6. Click Install. The installation begins. The following window opens when installation has finished. 18
