E-Band Packet Radio Revolutionary Backhaul & Fronthaul!

E-Band Shapes the Future of Backhaul, Midhaul & Fronthaul The explosive demand for IP-based services has caused severe bottlenecks to existing last-mile MW transport networks. Furthermore, the evolution to 4G / IP architectures and the mass deployment of small cells are about to dramatically increase the number of radio links. Current Point-to-Point MW radio systems, operating in the congested 15-38 GHz bands, require more equipment (2+0) to achieve the Gigabit capacity milestone. More importantly, the spectrum licensing fees represent a significant portion of the network s annual operating expenses. E-Band radio systems offer unique inherent advantages, such as Gigabit capacity on a single (1+0) radio link and considerably-reduced spectrum fees based on a new light licensing framework.

The Innovations of UltraLink TM -FX80 UltraLink -FX80 all-outdoor Ethernet radio realizes the profound advantages of E-Band technology, shaping the future of wireless connectivity. By introducing cost-efficient leading capacity, intelligently achieved through distinct innovations, UltraLink -FX80 revolutionizes the radio network economics. Demanding operators can thus benefit from a highly-valued solution that has primarily been developed to meet and exceed their expectations, offering at the same time a low cost of ownership. UltraLink -FX80 is compliant with both European and USA regulations. Best fit for Mobile Operators Fixed-Line Operators Internet Service Providers Utility Companies Municipalities Higher Education & Health Manufacturing Industries & Large Corporations [Fig. 1] UltraLink -FX80 creates a winning value proposition for clear differentiation UltraLink -FX80 Values Multi-Gigabit link capacity Top-notch reliability UltraLink -FX80 Core Benefits Feature-rich and future-proof solution satisfying any 4G backhaul requirement Hassle-free, plug-n-play connection to the network in minutes Zero footprint Flexible use for macro / micro / small cell backhaul, C-RAN fronthaul and all types of transport applications Support of native transport of Ethernet or CPRI traffic in one unit Unique direct AC powering that simplifies deployment in street locations lacking DC power Lowest cost per bit Highest spectral efficiency Application versatility

Product Description UltraLink -FX80 accommodates everything - including the flat antenna - into a lightweight, compact (290 mm x 290 mm x 108 mm) and environmentally-hardened enclosure to minimize the size and cost requirements of the supporting infrastructure. Other antenna options (30 cm and 60 cm parabolic) are also available. UltraLink -FX80 assures a highly-efficient and reliable operation thanks to the hitless link adaptation, highly-integrated inner architecture and low power consumption. Multiple powering options - direct AC, direct DC and PoE - facilitate deployment in all kind of sites, telco or street-level. Synergies that Create Value UltraLink -FX80 establishes synergies with the OmniBAS aggregation nodes and with other OmniBAS products from the Intracom Telecom portfolio. Combining the strengths of UltraLink -FX80 and OmniBAS solutions extends both their capabilities and the possible applications. Highlights Up to 3 Gbit/s full-duplex ETH throughput from a single 500 MHz channel 7-level Hitless ACM up to 256-QAM Three Gigabit Ethernet interfaces (Provider Bridge for MEF compliant Carrier Ethernet services) and one CPRI interface Zero-touch configuration and service provisioning through Bluetooth communication with a standard Android tablet Synchronous Ethernet and IEEE 1588v2 Transparent and Boundary Clock support UltraLink FX80: compact & lightweight (shown with flat antenna) 5.15 290mm 290mm 135mm

Networking Flexibility UltraLink -FX80 satisfies and exceeds the peak rate requirements of multi-technology HSPA+ / LTE / LTE-A sites. With its comprehensive Carrier Ethernet functionality and QoS treatment of traffic, UltraLink -FX80 ensures seamless integration with IP systems and effective service delivery. The following two schematics show indicative E-Band link deployments. Fig. 2 depicts a Centralized Radio Access Network (C-RAN) comprising three Remote Radio Head (RRH) and one centralized Base Band Unit (BBU) sites, the latter interfacing toward the Evolved Packet Core. UltraLink -FX80 radios can be used to fronthaul CPRI traffic from the remote RRHs to the BBU. In particular, an UltraLink -FX80 is connected to each RRH through a CPRI optical interface. At the BBU site, three UltraLink -FX80 radios are installed onto the building roof to forward traffic from/to all served RRH sites and interface with the indoor BBU through their CPRI interfaces. Fig. 3 depicts a network that backhauls traffic from mobile base stations to the customer s Point of Presence (PoP), using E-Band links. A relay point, comprising two interconnected UltraLink - FX80 radios, is used to extend link range and provide local add/ drop capability at the same time. Connections toward the PoP and the served base stations are implemented using Gigabit Ethernet interfaces.
