The integrated control of WDM functionality, including WSON and ROADM/WSS technology, enriches all the managed services by maximizing fiber utilization and providing flexibility of the metro aggregation network. The Ericsson IP Transport NMS enables network transformation, and is particularly ideal for fixed/mobile convergence, IP transformation and mobile backhaul. Mobile backhaul ensures the complete and efficient control of backhaul solutions, from base station to network core, either based on TDM circuits, CES or Ethernet interfaces. It is suited to enable quick network growth and technology transition to support higher bandwidth requirements from mobile broadband. Mobile packet backbone networks addresses the operator s need to efficiently manage multi-service IP infrastructure resources for GSM, WCDMA and LTE mobile networks. The solution is designed to support customer-specific multi-technology and multi-vendor environments. Packet services in focus gives to service providers a management solution that provides a comprehensive, reliable and scalable set of features to design, deploy, activate and monitor IP VPN deployments, Ethernet services. MPLS functionality is fully integrated, enabling support for VPWS and VPLS services. Key Advantages Managed MPLS-Transport Profile allows MPLS-TP for Ethernet aggregation to combine the reliability of SDH to guarantee QoS and the flexibility of a connectionoriented protocol, by implementing
4 the control plane at NMS level, which simplifies the complexity of the MPLS protocol. The operator can easily configure and control the network and its services with smart procedures, which are similar to those available for other technologies, e.g. SDH, WDM and IP. The result is an enriched MPLS, still fully compatible with IP/MPLS, but with additional mechanisms to ensure scalability, reliability and quality of transport, as well as the optimal total cost of ownership. Smart network resilience Ethernet ring protection (G.8032v2) and STP, MPLS-TP protection, SDH SNCP and MS-SPRING, WDM OSNCP, ASTN and WSON self-healing functionality, with their associated O&M functionality, offer operators the capability to guarantee any SLAs including sub 50 ms network protection. provides all the tools to intelligently use these protections, where and when they are needed, with simple procedures, most of them fully transparent to the operator, and offering full visibility of their status. Scalability and flexibility offers the best combination of cost efficiency, scalability and flexibility without compromising on performance. The system is developed on latest hardware and software technologies, balancing a best cost versus performance ratio, is suitable for various sized networks, supports diverse deployment and allows configurable workplace numbers.
