1 allows easy and high-performance access to the User Interface of SNP Transformation Backbone. 1. Download from the SNP Service Portal: http://service.snp.de/launchpad 2. Open the downloaded file on your PC. 3. Install the file. 4. Start. 1.1 Log-on to the system Figure 1 Log-on screen 1. Choose your SNP Transformation Backbone installation from the dropdown-list. 1.1.1 Log-on via internal browser (recommended) 1. Type in your SAP username. Page 4 of 10
2. Type in your SAP password. 3. 3. Choose your Language from the Dropdown list. 4. Click on the button Start application. SNP Transformation Backbone opens in a separate window. 1.2 Maintain connections 1.2.1 Setting up connections Figure 2 Setting up connections 1. Click on the tab Connections. 2. Click on the button New. The input fields will automatically be filled with default values. 3. Type in the name for the connection into the field Description. 4. Type in the Hostname/IP of your SNP system. If you type in an IP-Address, it will automatically be transformed to the hostname on save. Page 5 of 10
Note: Logging on to the SNP system can only be successful via Full Qualified Domain Name FQDN logging on via IP Address is not possible. By typing in an IP Address or an incomplete hostname, the will automatically attempt to resolve the FQDN on save. 5. Type in the Port number. The Port number consists of 4 digits and corresponds usually to the schema 80<SAP System number>, i.e. if the system number of the SAP system is 00 the port number will be 8000. Use Checkbox HTTPS Select the checkbox if your SAP Web Application Server provides a secure connection via HTTPS. Use Checkbox Standard Client Deselect the checkbox if SNP Transformation Backbone is not installed on the standard client. Enter the standard client. Color sheme Select a color from the dropdown-box to define the SNP Transformation Backbone icon for the browser. Logon via ICF alias Use this option to allow logon via the link <SAP server>:<port>/t-bone/<application> (ds = SNP Transformation Backbone Cockpit (from release 12.10 only), cn = Project Cockpit, ce = Transformation Cockpit, cw = Analysis Cockpit). With this link the logon method of the internet connection framework can be configured alternatively, e.g. for Single Sign On. Alternative Host Use an alternative hostname if the host name of the SAP system cannot be resolved and deactivate the checkbox used for the standard host. These settings are necessary if you are not allowed to edit the hosts file on your local PC. Proxyserver Here you can specify the proxy server if it is necessary to use a proxy server to connect to SNP Transformation Backbone and the local proxy settings cannot be changed. Deactivate the checkbox used for the standard proxy server. 6. Click on the button Save The saved connection can now be used from the drop-down-list Server in tab Start. Page 6 of 10
Note: If you get the message that the hostname could not be resolved, the server must be informed via DNS or in a local HOSTS file. Please type in the into the exception list of your local firewall. If you do not have permission to edit the HOSTS file, use the option alternative host. If you have questions please ask your administrator. 1.2.2 Delete connections If a connection is not necessary anymore, you can delete it from the. 1. Click on the tab Connections. 2. Select the connection you want to delete. 3. Click on the button Delete. The connection will be deleted and cannot be used anymore. If you want to use the deleted connection again, you have to set it up again as described before. 1.3 Options Figure 3 Options Page 7 of 10
Via the tab Options you can set the program language to german or english and activate the compatibility mode for Release 12.4 and lower. Note: After changing the program language you have to restart the program. The compatibility mode contains all SNP cockpits released with SNP Transformation Backbone 12.4. The new SNP Cockpit can only be used from release 12.10 If the SNP Transformation Backbone installation has been updated it can be necessary to clean the browser cache of the internal browser and reset the profile settings of the browser. Please keep in mind that a reset is only possible as long as no connection to your installation is running. Page 8 of 10
