HygroFlex is a new generation of industrial humidity and temperature transmitters based on the very latest digital technology. Digital signal processing significantly benefits humidity and temperature measurement in five key areas: The Digital Advantage 1. Measurement Accuracy HygroFlex processes sensor signals digitally, providing more scope and greater flexibility when compensating error components such as linearity and temperature coefficients. ROTRONIC sensors have always meant world leading precision and stability, an association that is strengthened with the advent of digital technology and its ability to cut the margin for error still further! 2. Maintenance and Calibration Digital signal communication allows components to be hot swapped without loss of measurement precision - calibration and sensor data are retained permanently within each digital HygroClip probe. HygroClip probes can be hot swapped in seconds, significantly reducing the maintenance and downtime costs associated with the removal of instruments to laboratories or workshops for difficult, time-consuming calibration and repair. HygroFlex can also be field calibrated and adjusted directly using the HygroPalm 3 calibrator. 3. Precision and Stability HygroFlex digital circuits are inherently more stable than their analogue counterparts and far less vulnerable to changes in temperature. Calibration adjustment is simple using the supplied software, eliminating those unstable, hard-to-reach potentiometers. Multiple calibration points can be selected across the full measurement range. 4. Application Flexibility Measurement change? Need dew-point instead of %rh? Or the mixing ratio? Simply connect the HygroFlex to a PC and change the configuration! Different installation? If your application needs change, simply fit one of the wide range of probes available with an alternative configuration or temperature operating range. Multiple point measurement? Need to expand? The supplied HW3 software package offers a comprehensive networking solution that can accomodate up to 32 instruments. HW3 features a data logging/reporting application, graphical and alarm functions. Alarm functions with audible, visual, email and SMS notification are included. The software will operate on any standard Windows-based PC. 5. Measurement of Dew Point and other Parameters Digital technology makes it possible to obtain parameters such as dew point or the mixing ratio with economical, versatile and easy-to-maintain instruments and probes. Compare the HygroFlex to existing chilled mirror technology - typical requirements and problems are eliminated: no sampling system is required in most applications, the uncertainty between dew and frost is eliminated, and there are no mirrors that need frequent cleaning.

Software & Calibration Accessories HW3 Software HW3 is a universal software package compatible with all ROTRONIC products possessing RS232 outputs. Features include data-logging, data storage, data export, calculation of various humidity parameters, instrument configuration and calibration. Alarm functions with audible, visual, email and SMS notification are included. HW3 allows the user complete control over the calibration process via a PC. Calibration standards To calibrate or adjust any humidity instrument, a reference value is essential. ROTRONIC non-saturated salt solutions generate precise relative humidity values over the range 0 95% rh (see order codes for the full range of values available). Each solutions pack is supplied with a Internationally accepted certificate of calibration which confirms the generated value and its uncertainty, meeting in full the requirements of quality systems such as ISO9000. Calibration devices ROTRONIC calibration devices encapsulate precisely the measurement sensor and calibration standard, eliminating external influence on the generated values. Four calibration devices are available for the HygroClip probes: ER-15 for 15 mm diameter probes ER-05 for 5 mm diameter probes EM-15 for type IE probes ERV-15 for 15mm diameter probes (wall mounting) Probe simulators The HygroFlex uses the digital signal from the HygroClip probes, so drift of electronic components won t influence measurement performance. However, it is good practise (and in some situations a procedural requirement) to show that all inputs to the HygroFlex and the analogue signal outputs have been tested. For this purpose, fixed humidity and temperature probe simulators are available (the standard version provides fixed values of 50%rh and 25 C/77 F).
