How Sprint s IP Platform Benefits Customers Sprint s IP / MPLS Platform provides customers with distinct benefits when compared to other service providers Sprint Reliability - flat network is easier to manage, monitor, and upgrade Redundancy through multiple reroute paths Flexibility by supporting multiple routing protocols Convergence of wireline and wireless Simplified pricing Simplified product set AT&T Network not flat Core network comprised of two or three vendors and technologies. Only supports static routing and BGP-4 Requires MNS and charges additional fees for CoS Requires a separate solution for remote access Does not offer truly integrated wireless services MCI Has grown its network through acquisitions; disparate networks and technologies. Charges for CoS and restricts the size of the highest queue Only uses a sampling of cities to calculate its network SLA metrics Does not offer true integrated wireless services 9

Definitions Digital In digital wireless phone systems, voice sounds are converted (encoded) to a binary stream of data that "describes" the sound. On the other end, the digital signal is decoded and used to reconstruct the sound. Analog Analog roaming, while useful in urgent situations, has several drawbacks compared to digital service: it is often more expensive, emits more radiation, sound quality is far less than digital, and certain features, such as caller-id and data services, do not work with analog. PTT Direct Connect A two-way communication service that works like a "walkie talkie". 13
CDMA CDMA is a "spread spectrum" technology, which means that it spreads the information contained in a particular signal of interest over a much greater bandwidth than the original signal. Unlike many competing technologies, CDMA has no hard limit for the number of users who may share one base station (tower). Instead, with CDMA, additional users can connect until the base station determines that call quality would suffer behind a set limit. Solution Overview Sprint Benefits High Speed Data Crystal Clear Voice Communication Seamless Services Nationwide 14
iden Integrated Digital Enhanced Network iden provides several unique features, including integrated push-to-talk (PTT) walkie-talkie capability. Nextel Benefits Push to Talk GPS Low Bandwidth solutions 15
GSM Solution Overview Global System for Mobile Communication. The most visible feature of GSM are SIM cards. SIM cards are removable, thumbnail-sized smart cards which identify the user on the network, and can also store information such as phone book entries. SIM cards allows users to switch phones by simply moving their SIM card from one phone to the other. Cingular T-Mobile More dropped calls Lower Sound Quality 16
Our network delivers service you can rely on nationwide Sprint built the most complete, all-digital wireless voice and data network in the nation > Covers more than 280 million people > Includes more than 99% of the nation s largest cities and all major airports Sprint uses one integrated voice and data network built from the ground up > Our phones and services work the same anywhere on our network > The network delivers the best data throughput in the wireless industry 17
Confirmed: Sprint has the fastest mobile data network In a recent third-party test of national carriers data cards Sprint led the pack: > Completing tasks in significantly less time > With greater data throughput The tests were: > Conducted by a third-party research organization > Carried out in 10 major cities Tests evaluated automated sample tasks that your employees do every day > FTP downloads > Web browsing > Email with attachments 18
