Step by Step Instructions for Using TestGenerator to Import Test Questions into Moodle 1. Open Test Generator by double clicking on TestGenerator Icon. 2. Choose A Test for the Web option. Choose A Test for the Web option. 3. Click Blackboard 5.x and 6.x option. Click Blackboard 5.x & 6.x 4. Click Make Test button. Click Make Test 5. Double click on the chapter you wish to select to create quiz questions. Page 1
6. Select the type of questions for the quiz. Select type of questions. 7. Double click on the type of question. Example Example Multiple Choice questions. A list of available questions will be shown on the screen with references to page number. You can randomly select questions by determining the number of questions and have the computer pick the questions. Or you can select the questions yourself, by clicking on the questions and hold down the CTRL key and select another question. Continuing holding down the CTRL key until you have selected all questions you want to include in your quiz. List of available questions shown here with reference to page numbers 8. 9. Click Add to Test 10. Questions are selected and added to the right side of the screen. This screen shows the questions you have selected for the quiz you are building. 12. Type the number of questions you wish to select and click Add to test Type number of 13. True/False Questions have been added to the questions you want quiz questions on the right. Click Add to test 14. You will want to save this test. On the right side of the screen where the questions are listed, click on Save icon. Click on Save Icon 15. The quizzes are stored in a folder called Tests. You will need to name your quiz. Example, Chapter4Quiz (Note: Do not put spaces between words when naming. Either use no spaces or _(underscore) between words) After you name the quiz, click on Save. Name Quiz and click on SAVE Page 4
16. Next, we will EXPORT the test. Click on File and Export Click on FILE Click EXPORT 17. 19. The file is named as a ZIP file. It is defaulted to save in the Tests folder. You can save anywhere as long as you know where you saved it. For this purpose, we will save to the Desktop so we can find test later. Click SAVE 2. File is exported as a ZIP file 1. Save in Test folder or on Desktop 3. Click SAVE 20. You will need to Extract the zip file. Locate the folder on the desktop (or wherever you saved the file) and right click and choose Extract All from the menu. Click EXTRACT ALL 21. 23. For this example, we are extracting to the Desktop. You can extract the files anywhere on your computer as long as you know where you put the file. Click Next Browse to place the files in another location Then, click Next Click Finish 24. Files are extracted. Click Finish. 25. Next, you will want to open Moodle and select your course so you can import quiz questions into your course. Click on the name of your course to select it. Click Control Panel 26.
