WAPS Online Registration User Guide For families NEW to WAPS
To start the WAPS Online Registration process go to the Winona Area Public Schools webpage at www.winonaschools.org and click on Enroll at the top of the page. Additional information regarding the WAPS Online Registration Enrollment Process can be found at: www.winonaschools.org/enroll Recommended internet browsers include Google Chrome or Firefox. During the registration process any fields with a red * is a sign it is a required fied. If you receive red bubbles like the ones shown here, required data is missing. Click on the red bubbles to remove them from the screen.
Click Start New Registration.
Enter your First Name, Last Name, DOB and select the registration year you want to enroll your children in. This will create your parent account for registration purposes only.
Enter an email address (optional) however, not entering an email here will exclude you from status emails throughout the registration process.
If your children have attended our district prior to this year in grades K-12 check the Previously Attended this District box.
Enter the Captcha Code. If you are unable to recognize any of the letters and/or numbers, click the blue circle icon and a new combination of letters and numbers will appear.
Click Begin Registration.
Make sure you write down your confirmation number in case you need to return to the application to finish.
Read the box, Click OK.
Enter your name in the box provided. This is for electronic certification.
Sign on the blank line either using a mouse (click and hold the left mouse button) or use your finger if you have a device with a touch screen.
Click Clear only if you need to try and sign the form again. (optional)
Click Submit to continue.
Read the information on this screen, gather the necessary information, then click Click here to begin.
You will notice a progress row across the top of the screen. Under each progress section there are tabs/pleats that will appear for data to be entered. The system will walk you through the screens. Enter in a primary phone number for the household.
Select how you d like to receive phone calls with this phone number.
Click Next.
Enter the home/primary address of the student, notice that in the green area below appear, if your address is listed you can click on the address listed in the green box to select it. If your address does not appear in the green area below continue entering the correct information in the fields listed.
When the correct address is listed, Click Next.
If this household has a secondary address (like a PO Box) uncheck the check box. If no other address needs to be listed leave the check box and skip the next step.
(Optional) Check the Post Office Box check box and start entering the second address, notice that in the green area below appear, if your address is listed you can click on the address listed in the green box to select it. If your address does not appear in the green area below continue entering the correct information in the fields listed.
When done entering addresses, Click, Save and Continue
Read the popup message, then Click OK. Add any parent/ guardian in this section including yourself regardless if they live in the same household.
Enter the required data for parent/guardian #1.
Click Next.
Enter parent/guardian #1 s cell phone, work phone and email address. If this parent/guardian doesn t have an email, check the Has no e-mail box.
Select how you d like to receive phone calls with this phone number and email addresses.
Click Next.
Select Yes or No or click on the link to learn more about this question.
Click Save and Continue.
If you need to add parent/guardian #2 click Add New Parent/Guardian and enter the data on the screens like you did for parent/guardian #1.
When done entering all the parent/guardian s for the student all parents/guardians should be listed here, including yourself.
Click Save/Continue.
Add at least one emergency contact (other than parent/guardians) to this section for your student(s). Example: grandparents, neighbors, aunts, uncles etc. Click Add New Emergency Contact.
Read the popup message, then Click OK.
Enter the required information and Click Next.
Enter at least one phone number for the emergency contact and Click Save/Continue.
Click Add New Emergency Contact if you have another person to add. If no other emergency contacts need to be added Click Save/Continue.
If you have children ages 0-5 OR children who are attending a Charter or Nonpublic school in Winona Click Add New Household Member (Child age 0-5 or child attending a Charter or Non-Public school in Winona). If not Click Save/Continue.
If you are adding children in the Other Household section, fill in the required information and Click Save/Continue.
Click Add New Household Member if you have more children to add to this area. If not, Click Save/Continue.
Here is where you will add the child(ren) you will be registering for WAPS school, grades K-12. Click Add New Student.
Enter the required information, upload your child s birth certificate (not required to upload however, a copy of a birth certificate is requested from your child s WAPS school) and Click Next.
Enter the required information and Click Next. Click on the link if you d like more information on this pleat.

The enrollment pleat will tell you what school your child will be assigned to based upon school boundaries. If no school appears here WAPS school staff will contact you. Click Next to continue.
Enter the required information, upload your child s school transcript (not required to upload however, a copy of your child s transcript and/or report cards will be requested from your child s previous school) and Click Next.

Enter the required information and Click Next. This is the relationship between the student you are adding and the child you entered in the Other Household pleat.
Enter in the Primary Care Provider information for the student you are adding (optional) and Click Next.
If this student does not have any health conditions check the box. Upload your child s Immunization records (not required to upload however, a copy of Immunization records is required to attend WAPS schools)
If this student has health conditions, Click Add Condition.
Select the first health condition for this student and enter any comments you d like the health staff to know.
If this student has another health condition, Click Add Condition, otherwise Click Next.
If this student does not have any medications, check the box.
If this student has medications, enter the required fields for this student and enter any comments you d like the school health staff to know.
Continue to add all medications for this student by clicking Add Medication and enter in the required fields. When done, Click Next.
Enter the required information and Click Next. Click on the link if you d like more information on this pleat.
For Kindergarten Only Enter the required information, if the student attended preschool enter information in those fields and Click Next.
For Grades K-4 Only Are you interested in more information on our SLIP and STEM Programs? Select Yes or No and Click Next.
Enter the required information and any comments you d like the transportation department to know as well as any daycare information (if daycare information is applicable).
For Grades 5-12 Only Enter the required information, sign on the blank line either using a mouse (click and hold the left mouse button) or use your finger if you have a device with a touch screen, and Click Next. Click on the links at the bottom of the screen if you d like more information on this pleat.
All the child(ren) you want to register for WAPS Schools in grades K-12 should be listed here, when done adding, Click Save/Continue.
Read the screen, Click the Application Summary PDF link if you d like to print out your application for your records or to review it to make sure you have all the correct information added.
When you are ready, Click Submit. If you entered an email address you will receive emails with the status of your WAPS Online Registration Application.
Click OK if you are sure you are ready to submit.
You can again click the Application Summary PDF link if you would like to print out your application for your records.
You have now completed the online registration process for WAPS. You will be hearing from your registered school shortly to complete the registration process. Some portions of the registration process cannot be completed online; examples: scheduling for courses, verifying immunizations, verifying proof of birth etc. Thank you!
