Global Phone (GlocalMe S1) Connect APP Quick Start Guide Ver 1.5 Connect

Applicable to Global Phone Service Monthly Plan Applicable to Standalone Purchase of Global Phone Firmware version: S1_S01_TSV1.0.003.017.180711-113505 GlocalMe Connect App version: GCUI01_V1.0.001.028 Firmware version: S1_S07_TSV1.0.003.017.180712 GlocalMe Connect App version: GCUI07_V1.0.001.014 1. Initialize Connect APP Initialize Connect APP After the service plan starts, click to open the Connect APP (please ensure there is internet connection). Condition 1: If the phone is not connected to the network, it will show No Internet connection Condition 2: If the phone does not have a valid service plan (not ready or expired), Service plan is not yet effective will be shown. After the APP main screen is shown, if you can find the number 2 is displayed at Valid Plan, then the Connect APP initialization is completed. User can check the service plan details by pressing Valid Plan (1 for Registered Basic Plan & 1 for 100MB Local Data Trial Plan*). *Starting from 20 July,18 until further notice, the 100MB of Hong Kong local data trial package will be offered to our customers who complete 1st time initialization via Global Phone Connect APP. 1
Reminder: Suggest customer to complete the first time initialization in Hong Kong. If customer have left Hong Kong but Connect App has not yet been initialized, customer can still proceed the first time initialization under mobile data or WiFi connection. However, please be aware that data roaming charge may be involved if initialization is done under your own SIM card network. 2. Get Connect Get Connect After the Connect APP is initialized, it will set to automatically connect to global data, it is effective even restart the phone. To manually connect the Connect APP, you can press Connect at the APP main screen. Regardless of manual or automatic to connect, it takes about 3 minutes to complete the connection process. For a successful connection, the icon of GlocalMe will turn white in the Quick Settings ; and the status bar will show the below cloud icon too. For disconnection of Connect App, go to Connect App and click My Profile to close Connect or go to Quick Settings to click GlocalMe to disable. If no coverage of Global Phone service when click Connect, it will show Connection terminated with below notice. 2
3. Top-Up in Connect APP Applicable to Global Phone Service Monthly Plan - Top-Up Procedure If customers need to purchase extra data, they can enter the Store in the Connect APP. Click the Top-Up plan you want, press Buy Now, and then press OK" to confirm. Your spending on Top-Up plan will be charged in your Hong Kong Broadband monthly bill on next month. Applicable to Standalone Purchase of Global Phone - Top-Up Procedure If customers need to purchase extra data, they can enter the Store in the Connect APP. Click the Top-Up plan you want, press Buy Now. Your spending on Top-Up plan will be charged in your PayPal account or credit card immediately. Upon successful purchase of Top-Up plan, it will show Order Success. Connect APP will not save any PayPal account or credit card information. If customers need to purchase Top-Up plan again, please log in PayPal account or input credit card information again. 3
4. Check Usage and Service Plan Check usage and service plan Data usage would be shown on the Connect APP home screen and My Plan. - Data Used (for Basic data plan) - Remaining Data (for Top-up data plan) The current service plan name would be shown on home screen. The plan details could be shown if user clicks on the screen area of the service name. Accumulated data usage Remaining Data Current service plan 5. Wi-Fi Tethering 1. Setting of Wi-Fi Hotspot Select Settings & click Mobile Hotspot & Tethering in handset, click Set up WLAN hotspot, default Network name is Glocalme_S1, change Security as WPA2 PSK & setup password, then click Save to complete setting. 2. Enable Wi-Fi Tethering Select Settings & click Mobile Hotspot & Tethering in handset, then enable Portable Wi-Fi hotspot. 4
Upon successful enabling of Wi-Fi Tethering, the icon of Hotspot will turn white in the Quick Settings ; and the status bar will show below icon too. After completion of Wi-Fi hotspot setting, other devices can search Wi-Fi hotspot network of Glocalme_S1, then input password for connection. After enabling Wi-Fi Tethering & connecting with other devices, all data usage will be deduced from the service plan. 6. Economize Data Usage* 6. *This feature can be used under Wi-Fi Tethering only. 7. 1. Follow the procedure of Wi-Fi Tethering to set up the network name and password, then enable Portable Wi-Fi hotspot, the Economize Data Usage feature will be defaulted on at the same time. After enabling this feature, if any other devices are connected to your device under Portable Wi-Fi hotspot, APP auto update and APP download function via APP Store or Google Play and the relevant Cloud service synchronization of other devices will be temporarily suspended. This feature can prevent the massive data usage of your sevice plan induced from other devices. 2. If customer would like to disable Economize Data Usage, please click the button of Economize Data Usage. Enable Disable 5
7. Software Upgrade 1. Automatic Check Mobile notification bar will have a prompt A new version is available after the new software is published. 2. Manual Upgrade 2.1) Enter the Settings > click About phone > click System updates > click Check for updates 2.2) If a new version exists, related Update Information will be displayed. Select Download, then click Install now, installation will start. 6
