MICROSOFT ONEDRIVE FOR WINDOWS OneDrive for Business is an integral part of Office 365 or SharePoint Server, and provides place in the cloud where you can store, share, and sync your work files. You can update and share your files from any device with OneDrive for Business. The OneDrive for Business is an application that may be downloaded to your work computer, home computer, and mobile device or tablet. Once the application is downloaded you will be able to access your files from any of those devices. Like many Microsoft applications there are multiple ways to access and use OneDrive. The following provides instructions on the recommended method of using OneDrive. ONEDRIVE RESOURCES The following provides information on using various features and functionality in OneDrive. Visit LyndaCampus and search for OneDrive for Business. For documentation and online training, visit the Microsoft OneDrive site. For assistance downloading the application, submit a Help Desk ticket. DOWLOADING THE ONEDRIVE FOR BUSINESS APPLICATION Open your desired web browser and search engine (Google, Yahoo, Bing). Enter the following search criteria: Download OneDrive for Business. It is important to include the wording for Business in the search. Select the Download Microsoft OneDrive link. The download page displays. Note: Do not click the Sign in link. 1 P a g e
Click Download. You may see the executable dialog box, or a download notification in the system tray depending on the browser and browser version used. Follow the prompts to install the application (prompts will vary depending on the browser used and the version of Windows installed on your computer). If you do not have administrative access to install applications, please contact the Help Desk for assistance. Enter your full EWU email address (for example; dwatson@ewu.edu). 2 P a g e
Click the Password field. OneDrive for Windows Quick Reference You will be redirected to the EWU Single Sign-On dialog box. Enter your NetID user ID and password to login and complete the install. A short tutorial displays. Select or deselect the desired settings (for example which files to copy over to OneDrive such as Favorites or Attachments).. 3 P a g e

After downloading the OneDrive icon may display in the system tray: ACCESSING ONEDRIVE Select the OneDrive icon in the system tray (if available): <or> Open Windows Explorer in the system tray: <or> Select OneDrive Eastern Washington University in the left-hand column. Note: There may be other OneDrive folder options; be sure to select OneDrive Eastern Washington University. <or> Open Start in the system tray. Either browse for OneDrive in the left-hand column, or execute a search for OneDrive. Note: Be sure to select OneDrive for Business. 4 P a g e
COPYING FILES TO ONEDRIVE Open OneDrive Eastern Washington University (see above for accessing OneDrive). If opening from File Explorer, open the One Drive - Eastern Washington University folder. Drag and drop the desired files and folders from your desktop, Favorites, C drive, N drive, etc. If opening from the system tray icon, select the Folder icon: drive, N drive, etc.. SAVING FILES TO ONEDRIVE To save Microsoft Word, Excel, pdf, or PowerPoint files you are currently working on to OneDrive, select File Save As. If OneDrive Eastern Washington University is not displayed, click Browse and select OneDrive Eastern Washington University in the left-hand column.
