NBT Bank offers Popmoney, a convenient online person-to-person payment tool to help you send, request or receive money from others through the convenience of NBT Online Banker and NBT Online Banker for Business. From splitting the bill for last night s group dinner to paying your dog walker, Popmoney helps you complete transactions electronically so you no longer have the hassle of cash or checks or even pestering a friend to be paid back. You are one step closer to being the ultimate task master with Popmoney! HOW TO ENROLL 1. Enroll in NBT Online Banker on the NBT Website 2. Enroll in Bill Pay by completing the maintenance form provided through NBT Online Banker 3. Activate Popmoney by following the steps on Page 4 EXISTING POPMONEY.COM USERS: If you are an existing popmoney.com user and wish to add Popmoney to your NBT Online Banker services, you must first deactivate your user account with popmoney.com. 3

EXISTING NBT ONLINE BANKER AND NBT ONLINE BANKER FOR BUSINESS USERS 1. Log in to NBT Online Banker or NBT Online Banker for Business. 2. Navigate to the Payments tab on your Home Screen. 3. Popmoney has been added to the Bill Payment Service within NBT Online Banker. Indicate that you have read and agree to the disclaimer by checking the box for I Accept the Disclaimer. Press Submit. 4. Complete the activation of Popmoney by verifying your email address and providing a mobile phone number. Your email and mobile phone number are the ways other people send you money and how you will receive notifications regarding payments you send. The email address shown is that associated with your NBT Online Banker account. Re-confirm your agreement to The Bill Payments Terms and Conditions and select Activate. 5. Acknowledge that standard text messaging rates may apply based upon your plan with your mobile phone carrier. 6. A verification code will need to be sent to you to confirm your enrollment. Select your preference to receive the verification code via phone call or text message to the provided mobile phone number. Upon receipt, enter the code in the provided field to complete enrollment. a) If you do not receive the code, a new code can be sent by visiting the Overview tab within Popmoney. 4

NAVIGATING YOUR PAYMENT CENTER Your Payments Center offers several ways to manage your transaction activity. PAYMENTS DASHBOARD Take advantage of the Payments Dashboard on the right of your screen for quick information about your payment activity for both Popmoney and Bill Pay. SPLIT AN EXPENSE Gain quick access to make a person-to-person payment by using the Split an Expense tab. POPMONEY To access the full set of person-to-person payment features available through Popmoney, select Popmoney from the Payment Center toolbar. 5

SPLIT AN EXPENSE FEATURE Did you cover the cost for a night out or a gift and now need to be repaid? Ask others to repay you for an expense using the Split an Expense feature. 1. Add or select the contact you wish to have repay you. You may make a request of several individuals in the same transaction. 2. Enter the amount you wish to be repaid. The minimum amount for a Popmoney transaction is $5.00. You may be repaid different amounts by different people all within the same transaction. Simply enter the values next to the recipient to whom it corresponds. 3. Provide your recipients with information about why you are requesting the payment and when you wish the payment to be received. 4. Review the information and select Send Request. 5. Review the details one last time and then select Confirm Request to have your contacts notified. Once sent, you will receive a confirmation notice. 6

POPMONEY TASK BAR OVERVIEW The Overview tab provides you with the details of any incoming and outgoing Popmoney payments, including alerts and recent transactions with Send Money. The To Do List allows you to respond to any transactions or alerts that require your attention quickly and easily. Alerts Popmoney uses several alerts to help you keep track of your different service activities. Alerts may include: Payment Received: This alert advises you to deposit your payment within 10 calendar days. Payment is About to Expire: Starting on day 5, if you have not deposited a received payment, you will begin receiving daily notifications. Additionally, if you have sent a payment that has not been deposited you will also receive notification. You may opt to send a reminder to the recipient to retrieve his/her funds. 7

SEND MONEY With Popmoney you have the opportunity to send an electronic payment to any individual for whom you have a corresponding mobile phone number, email address or bank account number. You can even make a donation to a charity using the Popmoney Charity Directory. Send Money to a Personal Contact 1. To begin, select an existing contact to send money to or add a new contact. To add a new contact, enter their first name and last name and select the way in which you would like to notify the recipient of the available funds: by email, by text message to his/her mobile phone number or by directly depositing the funds in their account by entering their bank account information. Your contact s information will be saved for future use. EXISTING CONTACT ADD NEW CONTACT: EMAIL OR MOBILE MINIMUM PAYMENT $5.00 MAXIMUM PAYMENT The maximum you can send is determined by a personalized payment limit that can be viewed by clicking the View Limits link located next to the Amount field. LIMITS For security purposes, limits are established for both the number of transactions and the amount being sent. These limits are managed by a rolling 30-day period. 2. Amount: To schedule a one-time single payment, enter the amount of the payment in the noted field. 3. Send Date: The Send Date is the day the payment is sent to the recipient and the funds are debited from your bank account. You can schedule payments up to one year in advance. To change the date, click the calendar icon and select your preferred date. When selecting a weekend or holiday, you will be notified that your payment will not be processed until the next business day. ADD NEW CONTACT: BANK ACCOUNT Recurring payments can be scheduled to occur weekly or monthly. You may also manage the duration by having the payments continue to process until you cancel, pay off a specified amount or reach a pre-set number of payments. NOTE: If the newly added contact is not currently registered with Popmoney, a message will appear notifying you of what next steps are required for the recipient to deposit the payment that is being sent. 8

PAYMENT DELIVERY OPTIONS Standard Delivery Next-Day Delivery Fee $0 $2 Mobile Phone or Email The recipient will be notified of the payment on the send date. Contacts with Automatic Deposit enabled will see the payment in their bank account within 1-3 business days. Contacts without Automatic Deposit enabled cannot receive the payment until they provide their bank account information; once provided, the payment will be sent to the contact s bank account within 1-3 business days. Delivery: When you send money using Popmoney, your account is debited on the send date that you select. 5. Pay From: Select the account you wish to pay from using the drop-down menu. 6. Message: You can add a note to any transaction to notify the recipient what the payment is for. You may send a message within the noted character limit for either a text message (20 characters) or email notification (200 characters). When sending an email, you may customize the email with a unique design to further personalize your payment notification. When sending money through direct deposit, you can choose to send an email notification to the recipient. 7. My Notes: This feature allows you to categorize your payment for future reference. The category for your payment is not shared with your recipient. You can view the category and description entered when viewing the payment on the Activity page. 8. Select Next to verify your payment information. You may then cancel or edit your payment by clicking the appropriate button. To complete the scheduling of the payment, select Send Payment. 9. A Payment Confirmation screen is issued to notify you that the payment has been sent and provides you the option to print a copy of the confirmation for your records. 9

The Recipient of a Payment When a payment is sent to your contact, he/she will receive a notification advising that a personal payment has been sent to him/her. The recipient is instructed to follow the prompts to accept and deposit the payment. Expiration The recipient of your payment has 10 calendar days to complete the retrieval process of their funds. If the recipient does not deposit the money, he/she receives a reminder message on the third day and then again on the seventh day. After the 10th calendar day, the payment expires and the recipient can no longer deposit the payment. The recipient must contact the sender to request that a new payment be sent. 10 If you were to be assessed a fee for your initial payment request, the funds will not be charged to your account Send Money to a Charity Popmoney makes it easy for you to donate to a growing list of charitable organizations that have registered with Popmoney to receive contributions. 1. Select the Charity link. 2. Type the name of the charity or select a charity that is displayed. 3. Repeat the steps for sending money to a personal contact. 4. After making your donation, you will receive a receipt from the charity within 7-10 business days. REQUEST MONEY Using the Request Money tab, you can request payments from anyone with a U.S.-based telephone number or email address. Your contact will then receive notification of your request along with instructions on how to complete payment. In a single request, you can ask for reimbursement from one to five people. The requested amount can vary per person, giving you added flexibility. 1. Enter a contact or contacts you wish to request payment from in the Request Money From section of the Request Money page, via the Add Contact or Select from List links. Simply select Add More People to add another contact to your list. 2. To specify the amount you wish to be paid, select Per Person to enter the same amount for each of your contacts or select Different Amounts to customize your repayment request. The minimum amount you can be repaid is $10.00. The individual receiving the request has the option to pay any amount. This amount may be more or less than the requested amount. ADDITIONAL OPTIONS You may choose to assign a due date to a request. A request is valid for 30 days regardless of the requested due date. It will remain on the receiver s To Do List until it expires after the 30 days, is paid or is rejected. 3. Message: You can choose to send a message to your contacts using the Email Message that allows for an explanation for your request up to 200 characters. 4. Deposit To: Specify the account you wish to have the requested funds deposited to when the money is received. You can add a note to this transaction that is only visible to you to help you track the incoming deposits on your Activity page. 5. Select Next to send your repayment request. 6. Review your request and select Send Request once you have verified that all of the details for your request are accurate. Receiving a Payment To track and accept payments after sending a request, visit the Overview screen and look under the Incoming Payments section of your To Do List. 1. Click the Deposit button next to the incoming payment. 2. Verify the email address or phone number (if applicable). 3. Select the bank account you wish to deposit the money to by clicking the drop-down menu. 4. You may enter a Category and Description related to the payment in the My Notes section.

Rejecting a Request for Money If the recipient chooses not to schedule a payment and does not agree with the request, he/she can reject the request by clicking the Reject Request link. The recipient now has the option of entering a message up to 250 characters in length to the requester indicating their rationale. ACTIVITY The Activity tab offers a variety of options to help you stay informed of your sent payments and requested payments and provides resources to help you manage your activity. Cancel Payment If your payment is still in pending status, you do have the option to cancel the payment. The payment is in pending status if the receiver has not accepted and deposited the payment, or, if automatic deposit is enabled by the receiver, it is prior to the cut-off times for processing. To cancel the payment, click the Cancel Payment button in the lower right corner. A Cancel Payment screen appears, recapping the payment information and providing you the option to select Cancel Payment. Stop Payment If it is beyond a cut-off time and a payment is in progress, you do have the option to stop the payment for a fee. To cancel the payment, click the Stop Payment button in the lower right corner. Scheduled Payments You may access your future dated payments and recurring payments by clicking the Scheduled Payments link on the Activity screen. When selecting a payment, you have the option to edit or cancel the payment by following the provided prompts. You may also edit the next payment or edit the entire recurring payment plan. Sent Requests You can review sent requests within the Activity page by open requests and canceled requests. If a request is still open, you may choose to schedule reminders for the recipients by clicking the arrow next to the individual s name and following the prompts. A personalized message can be sent along with the reminder to your contact. 11

Cancel Request To cancel a request sent to one of your contacts in a single or multiple contact request, click the arrow icon to expand the request information. Simply click the Cancel link and then confirm your cancellation. CONTACTS The Contact tab provides you with a list of your current Popmoney contacts. You can add contacts at any time by clicking the Add a Contact button. You may also import your contacts from the following email providers: Yahoo! Mail Hotmail Gmail/Google Mail 1. Select the email account provider from which you wish to import your address book. 2. Complete the login process for your account to grant Popmoney access to the stored contact list. 3. The imported contact list will display. Next, check the Select All box or each individual contacts box that should be imported. 4. Click the Import button. 5. You may then edit the contact information as needed by selecting the individual contact. PREFERENCES The Preferences screen allows you to add additional email addresses and phone numbers or enable automatic deposit for payment deposits. You may also add or delete contact information or disable a bank account that is enabled for automatic deposit by clicking the disable button. 12 MEMBER FDIC 4/2017
