Bottom line: If you want access to the latest and best technology and are looking for a better way to manage your devices and cash flow, this is a great solution. How will HPE Subscription for Servers help my business? It is an investment solution to maximize the full potential of IT to create better business outcomes. It was designed for smaller businesses. It s a great solution for smaller businesses that want to: Update technology, but do not have the cash to buy it outright or need to save that cash for other business purposes Get one-stop shopping for HPE hardware, software, and services with the convenience of a single monthly payment Refresh technology on a regular basis to help prevent obsolescence and disruptions in workflow Easily dispose of old servers, or other IT equipment safely, securely, and with the least impact on the environment Potentially convert capital expenses to operating expenses Details How do I get HPE Subscription for Servers? It can be purchased through an appointed Hewlett Packard Enterprise Authorized Reseller. How long are the subscription periods? The initial subscription period is 36 months. You may consult with an HPE Financial Services representative if different terms are required. What products are sold under the subscription? Hewlett Packard Enterprise and our appointed reseller have put together different types of packages that typically include hardware, services, and software. From entry level to top of the line, you will find a solution that will meet the needs of your company. 1 Financing and service offerings available through HPE Financial Services and its subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively HPE Financial Services) in certain countries and is subject to credit approval and execution of standard HPE Financial Services documentation. Subscriptions to use are available for a 36-month term. Rates and terms are based on customer s credit rating, offering types, services and/or equipment type and options. Not all customers may qualify. Not all services or offers are available in all countries. Other restrictions may apply. HPE Financial Services reserves the right to change or cancel this program at any time without notice.

Currently, Proliant Servers are available for subscription, but future subscription packages will include storage and networking products. What kinds of software are available? Subscription packages may include Hewlett Packard Enterprise and/or third-party software such as Microsoft Windows Exchange Server, SQL Server, or Lync. As an initial offering, Microsoft Windows Exchange Server will be part of the server subscription bundle. What kinds of services are available? 2 Packages may include selections from a wide range of services that will enable your full productivity and security. Here are some examples: HPE Foundation Care provides support for Hewlett Packard Enterprise hardware and software, along with upgrades, diagnosis, and problem resolution support for major independent software vendor (ISV) products. One call helps resolve problems for hardware, firmware, or software. Three support levels are available: Call-to-Repair Service (six-hour repair commitment), 24x7 Service, or Next Business Day Service. HPE Proactive Care helps prevent problems and stabilize IT by utilizing secure, real-time, predictive analytics, and proactive consultations when your products are connected to Hewlett Packard Enterprise. It also provides HPE Foundation Care reactive support with rapid access to a Technical Support Specialist who manages your case from end to end. Benefits include: Problem prevention Predictive analytics for proactive reports Personalized consultation with a Technical Account Manager Rapid access to advanced technical experts Do I have to subscribe to a predefined configuration? Several different configurations are being offered. You will have the ability to add software, memory, and hard drives to meet your needs. Terms and conditions Where can I find HPE Subscription for Servers Terms and Conditions? The terms and conditions will be shared with you to review and sign once your application is processed. When does my subscription start? It will begin the day you receive your equipment. You ll receive your first invoice shortly thereafter. What happens if my hardware stops working during my subscription period? Each subscription includes three-year HPE Foundation Care or HPE Proactive Care (described above), which provides spare parts and on-site repair. 2 Service levels and response times may vary depending on your geographic location. Restrictions and limitations apply. HPE services are governed by the applicable HPE terms and conditions of service provided or indicated to customer at the time of purchase. Customer may have additional statutory rights according to applicable local laws, and such rights are not in any way affected by the HPE terms and conditions of service or the HPE Limited Warranty provided with your Hewlett Packard Enterprise product.
Technical white paper Page 5 Will HPE have access to my data on the subscribed equipment? While you have the hardware, Hewlett Packard Enterprise will not access your data. Hewlett Packard Enterprise advises that you wipe all data from your hard drive before it is returned to Hewlett Packard Enterprise. When you return it after your subscription is over, Hewlett Packard Enterprise will also wipe disks of all information according to industry standards. Renewal What happens when my subscription period ends? 90 days before your subscription is set to expire, Hewlett Packard Enterprise will send you a notification letter with an option to renew meaning you ll have a new subscription period and updated equipment to go along with it. Your new payment will be based on the configuration you select. If you decide to renew, contact our appointed HPE reseller to assess the best option for your business. If you do nothing, Hewlett Packard Enterprise will extend your hardware subscription on a month-to-month basis with the existing hardware at the same monthly rate for the equipment only. HPE HPE Support Services will expire. What happens if I decide to renew? When your HPE Subscription for Servers comes to term, you can return the current equipment and work with your reseller to choose new hardware, software, and services. Will Hewlett Packard Enterprise increase my monthly payment after I renew? Monthly payments are based on your selected hardware, software, and services. The payment for new hardware, software, and services may be higher or lower based on your selection. Is there a way to own the hardware? Ownership is not possible under an HPE Subscription for Servers contract. If you wish to continue with the same equipment, you can extend the subscription month-to-month as long as you like. If you are looking to purchase hardware at the end of a certain term, leasing would be a better solution. What will Hewlett Packard Enterprise do with my returned hardware? If the hardware is obsolete, HPE Financial Services will ensure that it is recycled responsibly and in accordance with national data security and environmental safety regulations. Can I cancel my subscription? You may only cancel your subscription during the first 15 days after you receive your hardware. After the first 15 days of your subscription you may not cancel, and you will be responsible for all monthly payments for the duration of your subscription.
Technical white paper Payment options Will my monthly payment change during my subscription period? No. Your monthly payment will remain the same for the full subscription period. What are the payment options I have for the HPE Subscription for Servers? There are several ways to pay for your monthly subscription. Contact your HPE reseller for payment options. Will I receive any benefits for paying off my subscription early? No. You will not receive any benefits (other than avoiding late payment penalties).
