Step 2 Disconnect the 10G SFP+ Cable Disconnect the 10G SFP+ cable from the network interface controller. Use the pull-tab to disconnect the cable. Step 3 Remove the Server from the Rack Grasp the server as shown. Pull the retention plunger upwards. Begin sliding the server out of the rack. 2018 gunnerautomotive.dozuki.com/ Page 4 of 17
Step 4 Disconnect the Ethernet Cable Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the server. Press the tab on the end of the cable to release it. Step 5 Remove the Server Counter the weight of the server, as shown. Completely remove the server from the rack. 2018 gunnerautomotive.dozuki.com/ Page 5 of 17
Step 6 Engage the server lid, as shown. Push the lid towards the rear of the server. Lift the cover. Step 7 The heatsink may be hot. Loosen four screws. Select screws in a diagonal fashion. To loosen, use about two screwdriver rotations. 2018 gunnerautomotive.dozuki.com/ Page 6 of 17
Step 8 Continue to unscrew the screws holding the heat sink to the CPU until you can remove it. Step 9 Grab the heatsink as shown. Lift the heatsink off the CPU. 2018 gunnerautomotive.dozuki.com/ Page 7 of 17
Central Processing Unit (CPU) Replacement Release: v1.0-2018-10-08 Step 10 Grab the right CPU socket retention lever, as shown. Press the lever down and away from the CPU. The CPU socket retention lever is spring loaded. Keep pressure on the lever as it lifts. Step 11 Release the left lever. 2018 gunnerautomotive.dozuki.com/ Page 8 of 17

Step 14 Obtain an isopropyl alcohol cloth. Hold the CPU by its edges. The CPU may have a blue shroud. If so, hold it by the shroud. Step 15 Continue wiping the CPU with the alcohol-soaked cloth to remove the thermal compound. Multiple passes may be needed to completely remove all of the thermal compound. 2018 gunnerautomotive.dozuki.com/ Page 10 of 17
Step 16 Obtain a heatsink stencil. Seat the stencil on the bottom of the heatsink (as shown). Seating the stencil may require some force. Step 17 Apply thermal compound, as shown. 2018 gunnerautomotive.dozuki.com/ Page 11 of 17
Step 18 Lift the stencil off of the heatsink. The stencil may require some force to lift. Step 19 Align the arrow printed on the CPU so that it matches the arrow on the CPU socket gate. Place CPU in socket, and close the socket gate. Socket gate close process is opposite of removal. 2018 gunnerautomotive.dozuki.com/ Page 12 of 17
Step 20 Lower heatsink onto the CPU. Visually align the heatsink while lowering. Step 21 Tighten (4) screws. This process is opposite of removing the heatsink. It is necessary to apply pressure to the heatsink while tightening (4) screws. Further installation process is opposite of removal. 2018 gunnerautomotive.dozuki.com/ Page 13 of 17
Step 22 Install the lid on the server. The installation process is opposite of the removal process. Step 23 Slide the server back into the rack. Lift the green retention pin to clear the chassis. Connect all previously disconnected peripheral cables. Slide the server until the green retention pin snaps downwards, locking the server. Press the power button. 2018 gunnerautomotive.dozuki.com/ Page 14 of 17
Step 24 Slide the Server into the Rack Slide the server into the rack. The retention plunger does not need to be pulled upward during installation. The server is secure when the retention plunger snaps shut.
