Vini Pedestal Launch Enhancement Summary Effective immediately, OEI s U-Series pedestals are replaced with the new Vini Low-Cost Pedestal family that will be manufactured on a new automated line at our Pembroke facility. This production change will support many positive changes for the new Vini pedestal offering, including: Reduced pricing (see your Account Manager for new Vini pricing). More consistent quality. Addition of mobile box/file models in 20 and 24 depths. Addition of 20 and 24 worksurface-supporting pedestal. Consistent finished heights of mobile and freestanding units, and interchangeable casters and glides. The elimination of counterbalance weight and cost in some models, and the inclusion of the required counterbalance weight in the bills of material for other models. Addition of Connection Zone pull for Vini pedestals, as well as U-Series laterals, towers, credenzas and double pedestals (overhead and underhead addition will occur late 2015). Additionally, please note the following changes: New model numbers have been assigned for all Vini pedestals. Old U-Series models are immediately discontinued, but will be available for specification and order entry through July 15, 2015 to match existing product. 22 and 30 deep pedestal models have been discontinued from U-Series (consider Series XXI pedestals if 30 deep pedestals are required). New Vini panel-tie brackets for use in Systems Furniture planning. Glides on freestanding models are not adjustable and feature a unique aesthetic. Mobile models no longer have brakes on casters. There are no changes to any other elements within the U-Series offering, and automated production will not affect the overall aesthetic of the line. VINI Pedestal Storage Vini s default drawer pull is an attractive brushed nickle arch. A 5th wheel is used instead of a counterweight on B/F and B/B/F cabinets to provide additional stability when heavy file drawers are open. Mobile & Freestanding Pedestal Files More than just another storage offering, the Vini line of steel pedestal files blends high-quality options with value-engineered processes to meet the demands of both exacting users and their budget-conscious managers. Mobile and freestanding filing cabinets are available in three drawer configurations: Box/File (B/F) with an overall height of 21", or Box/Box/File (B/B/F) and File/File (F/F), which are both 27" in height. Ensuring a uniform look in spaces that use both mobile and freestanding pedestal files are Vini s unique freestanding glides which make the two the same height and provide the necessary clearance for smooth operation of the 5th wheel. The 5th wheel, another innovative feature of Vini freestanding and mobile cabinets with B/F and B/B/F drawer configurations, provides more than just an interesting aesthetic. It offers additional stability for the bottom file drawer in the open position, replacing the 25-36 pound counterweights used in the File/File cabinets. In addition to the 5th wheel, which is mounted to the bottom drawer, mobile Vini Pedestal Files contain two non-locking and two locking casters, which allow users to move them easily when fully loaded and keep them firmly in place even on sloping floors. Available in a range of finish colors to coordinate with many workspace palettes, Vini filing cabinets don t just act like they belong in a professional setting, they look the part as well. 20" and 24" nominal depths create an attractive profile beneath most worksurfaces, while the arc drawer pulls give the cabinets a style all their own. File drawers are constructed to provide a platform for letter-size hanging files, but adding a plate divider to them easily accommodates legal files. Glides on freestanding cabinets are the same height as casters on mobile cabinets, giving them identical finished heights.
VINI Pedestal Storage Worksurface supporting pedestal files can be used in place of wing panels, cantilevers, or C-legs to provide stability in panel systems. Shoulder bolts and keyhole slots are used to securely attach the pedestal files to the worksurfaces they support. Worksurface Supporting Pedestal Files In addition to freestanding and mobile options, the Vini line includes worksurface supporting pedestal files. To achieve their 27¾" height, these cabinets are available in Box/Box/File and File/File configurations only. However, the dual role they play in the workspace will never leave you feeling that you lack options. Not only do worksurface supporting files do just as their name implies, they can also be used to provide stability in panel systems. Optional panel bracket attachments, also known as panel ties, can be bolted to the back of the cabinets and slotted into the panels to take the place of wing panels, support panels, cantilevers, or C-legs. Every bit as important as the panel file connection is the worksurface file connection. Shoulder bolts screwed into the underside of the worksurface engage with the keyhole slots in the tops of the file cabinets to easily and securely join the two during installation. Also ensuring a successful installation are the cabinets adjustable glides. Their 1⅜" range allows them to accommodate uneven or irregular flooring conditions. Just because the pedestals aren t mobile doesn t mean they can t contain files or supplies that other team members access. Cabinets can be specified as keyed standard with a unique key required for each cabinet, or keyed alike so that all of a user s or team s cabinets can be opened by the same key. With a multitude of features, including compatibility with Series XXI accessories, Vini is sure to prove itself as a contender in the pedestal file arena.
