RIDE WITH TRANSLOC ANDROID USER GUIDE PURPOSE: The following guide will give a in-depth overview of how to best use the TransLoc Rider application, and how to utilize the OnDemand demand-response service through the app. The guide will walk you through a series of step-by-step instructions with corresponding visuals for your convenience. 1. GETTING STARTED What does TransLoc Rider let you do? You can download the TransLoc Rider application by going to www.translocrider.com or through the Google Play store. With TransLoc Rider you can: Track your shuttle in real time See the shuttle arrival time for your designated stop Receive service alerts to stay informed New trip planner function that will help you get between buildings easier Amazon also has access to our OnDemand service, a way to solve all of your demand-response needs for staff members through our mobile app, online, or by phone. OnDemand was implemented to provide you with a more flexible service when commuting between vehicles that do not have a fixed-route option. The service can also resolve your first and last mile connections when switching between different fixed routes within your system. Need a connection between buildings without a fixed route? On-Demand provides: Real-time communications and tracking Arrival notifications for your ride The ability to book, change or cancel your ride via mobile by going to ondemand.transloc.com Utilize service available for connecting Amazon buildings not supported by existing shuttle routes Service available during standard shuttle operational hours 6am 7pm, Monday Friday For questions call SP Plus dispatch at 206-300-9087 How to access TransLoc Rider TransLoc Rider can be accessed through the mobile application, mobile web maps, or through SMS stop alerts. The following sections will cover how to utilize the system through each mode of technology. TransLoc Rider through the SMS & Mobile Web If you do not currently have a smartphone that supports the Rider application (i.e. Windows Phone), you can still utilize our service via mobile web. ACCESSING THE MAP VIA MOBILE WEB 1. On a web-enabled mobile device, access the internet through a web/data plan or Wi-Fi connection 2. Go to http://slu.transloc.com/m using your browser s search bar to pull up the mobile web map 3. Choose the route you want to view ACCESSING STOP ALERTS VIA SMS If you cannot access the application or mobile web maps, you will still be able to receive estimated arrival times for bus stops using SMS text messaging. 1. You will first text [Agency Name] [stop code] to 41411 in the following format: -- Your agency name (SLUNION), a space, and then the stop code number for the stop you want arrivals for. Without a stop code you will be presented a list of routes to choose from. -- Once they have identified the stop code needed and texted the code to 41411 text-based arrival times will be sent to their phones. -- These alerts can be turned off at any time by texting STOP to 41411. - 2 -

2. USING THE ANDROID RIDER MOBILE APP INSTALLING THE APPLICATION You can download the Rider application for free in many ways, including: Going to www.translocrider.com and entering your phone number (you ll be texted a download link) Going directly to transloc.com/app on your mobile phone (this will redirect you to download the app from the Google Play store) Searching TransLoc Rider in the Google Play store FUNCTIONS OF THE RIDER APP By tapping the hamburger menu at the top left of the app you can access the main functions menu (shown below), including stops, routes, favorited routes, announcements, and settings. TRANSIT SYSTEMS VIEW ALL ROUTES VIEW ALL STOPS FAVORITES ANNOUNCEMENTS SETTINGS Transit systems View what transit systems you have selected through the Rider application, and all nearby systems from other agencies you can add to your view. View all stops By clicking the Stops icon, you will be able to view all available stops within your agency in a list from the closest to farthest stop. If your stop is not shown on the mobile application, you may contact your transportation provider at and alert them. Once they have notified us, your stop will be added as soon as possible. View all routes By clicking the Routes icon, all available routes will be displayed with a color-coded bar next to the route name that correlates with the color of the route on the map. Accessing favorited routes The heart icon in the menu bar allows you to view routes you have favorited in the Rider application. Favorited routes will appear in the same view format as all routes with the color-coded bar. Users can add or remove favorite routes from the stop view at any time. - 3 -

To add a route to your favorites, you simply tap the heart icon from the stop view on the map. When the heart icon is filled in blue, it is favorited. To un-favorite a route, simply tap the heart icon again to remove it. Announcements The second to last icon in the menu bar allows you to view announcements put out by the agencies you ve selected. Announcements with a blue dot next to them have not been viewed yet. Clicking on the one-line announcement will expand the it to reveal the full message. Announcements can come through push notifications when sent to your entire agency or their favorited routes if your rider has notifications enabled. Otherwise, all notifications will be available for view through the announcements icon. Settings The last icon at the bottom of the menu bar allows your users to access the following settings: YOUR RIDE This is broken down into four sections to allow you to have more control over your experience and give feedback. How was your ride: allows you to give feedback to your agency Survey settings: allows you to participate in agency in-app surveys (one question given to each rider per month maximum) or to opt out of surveys. YOUR PHONE This Location settings link takes you directly to your device s native location settings. YOUR PRIVACY Here you can access our privacy policy as well as allow us to collect anonymous location data to provide to your agency in order to help them improve their route planning and schedules. TRANSLOC Sections under this heading allow you to view a summary about us, our open source licenses, and an option to submit application feedback directly to our developers. TRACKING FIXED-ROUTE BUSES THROUGH THE APP Tracking your bus has never been easier. With our automatic refresh system and rapid refresh rate, you will be able to see your bus arrivals in real time. To track a system of routes, you first select the agency from under Transit Systems and then locate the stop you would like to board your bus at to see the estimated arrival time and real-time movement. You can do this via the stops list or via the map. Use location: allows you to enable or disable if the Rider application is tracking your location (used for accuracy to find closest stops and routes) - 4 -

Find the route for your stop and receive arrival predictions All of the routes that service your desired pick-up location will be displayed at the bottom of the screen, along with their estimated next arrivals. By selecting an available route from those listed at the bottom of the screen, a more detailed overview of that route and stop will be displayed on the map. You can view all stops on that route by tapping the Stops icon in the upper right hand corner. Fixed-route bus tracking key symbols The following symbols shown on the map below are all of the key elements when tracking your vehicle: BLUE STOP ICON A designated stop on your map MOVING ARROW ICON Your bus moving in real time ARRIVAL PREDICTION (MINUTES) Number at the bottom of the screen with your bus s arrival time to your stop UPCOMING Displays all upcoming ETAs for this stop and route after the main enlarged one SET ALERT Enables you to set alerts in the form of push notifications when bus is arriving - 5 -

3. USING THE BUILT-IN TRIP PLANNER To book a multi-modal journey in one trip using the Smart Trip Planner, your location settings must be turned on. Using the auto-locate button Start by using the blue Auto-Locate button (shown in the image to the right) found in the top left nav bar to ensure that the app is using your current location for the trip planner for accuracy. Planning your trip Then select the blue magnifying glass also known as the search icon to begin planning your trip. After setting your location and opening the search tool, enter your destination and choose from the Smart Trip Planner s options for going about your trip. **The trip planner may show one or more options depending on the available modes of transportation for the agency. 4. USING ONDEMAND THROUGH THE RIDER APPLICATION Amazon riders also have access to TransLoc s OnDemand service. OnDemand can be accessed through the Rider application, online, or by calling Amazon s dispatch center to give you a more flexible riding experience. TO REQUEST A RIDE ONLINE OR THROUGH THE APP Visit ondemand.transloc.com or select the mobility icon in the app to begin your ride request. Create an OnDemand account First time riders using OnDemand will have to make an account within the system. You will be able to click the red Create an Account button on the application or website to create your username and password. When prompted to Select a Transit Agency, make sure to tap South Lake Union this will connect you with Amazon s services. - 6 -

Select a pickup location Once you are signed in and have South Lake Union selected, you will then be prompted with a green Select Pickup Location button. You can use the red dots that appear for approved locations, or type in an address. Select a drop off location After confirming a pickup location, a prompt to Select Drop Off Location will appear in red. You can select one of the pre-determined drop off locations, or enter an address in the valid service area. Confirm your trip The last step in booking a trip through OnDemand is to view the summary of where you will be picked up and dropped off with a route visual and an estimated time of arrival. If everything is accurate, press the blue Confirm Your Trip icon. A vehicle will not be dispatched for your ride until the trip is confirmed. Monitor your pickup After your trip is confirmed, you can view your pickup status via the OnDemand web app at any time. When you are the next pickup you will be notified via text as well as in the status screen. Select the number of passengers After selecting a pick up and drop off location, OnDemand will ask for the number of passengers for the ride request. Enter the number of passengers, and check the box if a wheelchair accessible vehicle is needed. If not, leave the box unchecked. - 7 -
