StandardAero SAFECRAFT A portfolio of safety technologies focused on incident prevention Operators are able to select items from the SAFECRAFT portfolio based on individual aircraft configuration, mission requirements and budget. The SAFECRAFT portfolio of STC-certified safety technologies is offered either as a fullyinstalled solution or as a retrofit kit, depending on the items selected. New technologies and options will be added to the SAFECRAFT portfolio in response to customer demand and future changes in regulatory requirements.
BLR FASTFIN Tail rotor enhancement and stability system The System is available for all models of AS350, and certified performance is available for the B1, B2, B3 and H125/B3e FastFin uses advanced airflow management to increase the effectiveness of the AS350 anti-torque system for significant increases to hover load and stability. It does not modify the vertical fin, but is comprised of an Advanced Tailboom Aerodynamic Cowling (ATAC), a Tailboom Strake and Vortex Generators. Additional benefits will include a reduction in pilot workload, easier control in precision hover-hold operations and better management of the yaw axis when hovering in challenging crosswinds Up to 10% increase in available right pedal Up to 130 lb useful load increase in OGE hover CRASH-RESISTANT FUEL TANK OEM-approved retrofit for AS350 & EC130 primary fuel tank All-new modernized fuel retention technology Critical components relocated to enhance safety and ease of maintenance Slightly greater usable fuel capacity than the legacy fuel tank, at 144 U.S. Gal (545 L) Designed in co-operation with Robertson Fuel Systems LLC Enhanced safety Bladder-equipped FAA FAR Part 27 crash-resistant design Self-sealing breakaway valve to prevent fuel leakage Vent system roll-over protection Vent system flame arrestor Crash-resistant recessed sump drain valve Compatible with Airbus Helicopters and Onboard Systems cargo hooks/swings FAA STC SR02492AK approved; EASA STC 10064703 approved ENERGY ATTENUATING SEATING Offering optimum occupant protection in the worst-case scenario StandardAero is in the process of developing an STC for the retrofit of energy attenuating seating into older AS350s. When installed, this equipment will bring aircraft seating up to the same safety standards as new-build aircraft. Energy attenuating seat retrofits will be available for pilot, co-pilot and passenger seating. Details Stroking seats absorb vertical kinetic energy at levels below human injury thresholds STC will incorporate requisite modifications to reinforce cabin floor STC will be compatible with both long seat rail and short seat rail installations STC will be available for AS350 B / B2 / B3 / D and AS355 models not currently equipped with EA seating Availability to be announced THALES AUTOPILOT Reduced pilot workload for improved eyes out flying StandardAero is working with Thales to develop a low-cost retrofittable autopilot for the AS350/EC130 family. This costeffective solution will be based on Thales new-generation compact autopilot. Details Thales smart actuator avoids the need for a dedicated flight control computer, minimizing system weight Continuous stability augmentation without any cyclic stick displacement, both hands-on and hands-off Advanced coupled flight director modes from cruise to Velocity / Position hold for increased safety and decreased workload Simple man-machine interface, with minimal panel space requirements High performance with bandwidth above 10 Hz Dual-channel design architecture, with high level of integrity IFR compatible Availability to be announced ICING CONDITIONS DETECTOR Helping you avoid flying into unknown icing Details Safe Flight Instrument Corporation s ICD detects meteorological conditions which contribute to airframe icing Senses conditions before ice builds on airframe Gives pilot time to depart icing conditions or land Alerts within seconds of entering icing conditions Operating temperature: -55 C to 70 C Benefits Immediate annunciation upon entering and leaving icing conditions Heated to prevent ice accretion Discrete warning output capable of directly driving a warning lamp or PFD Meets SAE AS5498 Icing Performance Specification Qualified to DO-160G

OUTERLINK GLOBAL SOLUTIONS The Outerlink IRIS solution offers a fully integrated, lightweight monitoring and recording system, coupled with a next generation global broadband satellite communications system. IRIS finally gives operators one system where they can capture the full suite of engine and airframe data on both their legacy analog and new, fully digital aircraft. The system comprises of: IRIS dialer/control head IRIS data communication processor Up to three high resolution, 1080p IP color cameras Area microphone IRIS antenna Cockpit voice, video & virtual real-time Flight Data Monitoring IRIS users get active onboard system monitoring that provides immediate alerts and warnings through the IRIS ground station console. In addition, IRIS has a comprehensive software suite to playback and analyze the recorded data with fully synchronized display of all voice, video and flight data. L3 LYNX ADS-B Real-time precision for shared situational awareness Meets upcoming equipment mandates by FAA and other national certification authorities - FAA STC approval for H125/AS350 and H130/EC130 - EASA, ANAC and Mexico DGAS approvals pending Offered as a fully-installed solution or a retrofit kit Features Intuitive touchscreen interface Panel-mounted Mode S extended squitter (ES) transponder Dual-mode 1090ES ADS-B Out plus 1090 MHz and 978 MHz ADS-B In Internal rule-compliant position source (WAAS/GPS) Moving maps, including TFRs, airport databases and NOTAMs MFD interface to show traffic and weather data on compatible cockpit displays ASTRONAUTICS ROADRUNNERTM EFI Offers enhanced situational awareness and improved safety Upgrades existing primary flight instruments to modern electronic flight instrument (EFI) configuration Enhanced situational awareness and improved safety - Capable of displaying weather, synthetic vision, terrain awareness and traffic information - Multiple functions can be displayed for a complete picture - High-resolution, high-contrast screen for visual clarity in all lighting conditions - Night vision imaging systems (NVIS) compatible Large 4.1 x 6.8 inch displays allow for readability while retaining panel space for other instruments Cost-effective upgrade for existing platforms with minimal downtime and wiring changes needed Increased reliability compared to mechanical instruments Reduced weight (less than 8 lb / 3.5 kg) POWERLINE DETECTION SYSTEM Looking out for hidden dangers strung across your path Safe Flight Instrument Corporation s PDS provides warning of difficult-to-see electric power lines. The system utilizes a very low frequency receiver to sense electromagnetic fields from power lines and provides the pilot with audio and visual warnings. Technical features Warning light illuminates whenever aircraft is in proximity to power lines Audio warning increases in frequency as the power line gets closer (Audio output can be muted if desired) System sensitivity is adjustable Incorporates self-test feature All worldwide power frequencies are accommodated System is small in size and lightweight (14 oz / 400 g) COLLECTIVE CUEING SYSTEM Control column shaker for enhanced situational awareness Safe Flight Instrument Corporation s Tactile Cueing System (stick shaker) provides proactive warning of operations approaching engine/airframe limitations. Allows for more eyes out operations and greatly assists with external load and confined area operations. The system monitors engine/ airframe limits (torque, EGT, N1, NR), providing warning when limits are approached. Stick shaker approach provides unmistakable warnings: - Low speed shake warns that limit is being approached - High speed shake warns that limit has been reached/exceeded Helps prevent exceedances and violation of aircraft limitations Does not interfere with normal collective operation
