Additional Features 1. Additional Fields Adding additional field is another great feature available with hand-e-pix. The figure below shows how these additional fields will appear. Three additional fields can be activated by Timico without reinstalling the application on your device. These additional fields consist of one scroll list and two text areas. Additional fields can be controlled from the media manager portal. Changes will be sent to the device when you next login. If using additional fields you will need to scroll down vertically to access these fields. NOTE: Adding additional fields may require additional configuration of your media manager portal from Timico. Please ask for more information. 2. Notifications If hand-e-pix could not upload incidents for any reason, you will be notified. Figure 2: Additional fields Badge number: number of incidents that remain to upload will be shown (left). 3. Offline mode hand-e-pix can be used with or without a data connection. The first time you use hand-e-pix, the device must have data connectivity. After that you will be able to login to hand-e-pix without data connectivity and use the application to capture your incidents. Note: incidents will not upload until your device is connected to a data network and you will need to login to hand-e-pix to initiate uploading. hand-e-pix user guide for ios Issue 3 Page 8
4. Video Capture In addition to photo capture hand-e-pix also allows you to capture video as well. The specific length of the clip you can capture may vary and will be agreed with you System Administrator. However when capturing and uploading video you will experience the best results if you have a good data connection (3G or better or WiFi). Whilst slower connections will work you may use more data to upload and of course the upload will take longer. Capturing video works in a similar way to capturing a photo. If the option has been enabled on your application you will see a Video icon on the home screen in addition to the Camera icon. Simply select this to open the video camera. Next select the Red record button to start recording and when complete again to end your recording Once you have stopped recording you will be presented with the preview screen. Here you have a number of options: Playback Select the playback icon to watch your video back and also hear any audio that was captured Retake If you are not happy with your video simply select Retake to start again. Please note that once this is pressed your existing video will be lost Trim If you only need a small section of your video you can use the trim function at the top to select the part(s) of the video you need. This is particularly useful to keep the over file size to a minimum Use Selecting Use will take you to the Add Details (section 6) page in exactly the same way as if you have captured a photo www.timico.co.uk 0844 871 8100 enquiries@timico.co.uk hand-e-pix user guide for ios Issue 3 Page 9
