1 Project Your Presentation Wirelessly AirMedia Quick Start Guide First Time Users Please read Pages 1 and 2. On the left side of the touch screen, select AirMedia and then select Preview to display the AirMedia Welcome screen on your Preview Monitor. Your preview monitor should have an image similar to this: Turn on your Windows or Mac laptop and make sure that it is connected to our Campus Wifi or Lab Wifi network. Next, open a web browser on your computer and navigate to the web address or IP address displayed in the upper left corner of the Air Media Welcome screen. (NOTE: These instructions are for projecting wirelessly from your Windows or Mac laptop. Mobile devices (ipad, iphone, Android Phones and Tablets) can share their content using the AirMedia app, which is available for ios and Android devices. Download the latest version from the App Store or Google Play store. See Page 6 for details.) The Windows and Mac software download screen is now displayed on your computer: Click on the appropriate download button for your computer (Windows or Mac) and follow the on screen instructions for installation. Once the software is installed, content from your computer can be shared wirelessly.

2 1. Run the AirMedia application. You will see a list of rooms in your building. Select the room that you are currently using (i.e. D120Training.) The Login screen is now displayed. 2. Enter the four digit code displayed on the AirMedia Welcome screen in the Code field and click Connect. The contents of the computer screen are shown on the display connected to the Air Media. Using AirMedia Controls Control the presentation with the following commands: n u II X - Stop showing the computer s screen. Start showing the computer s screen. Freeze or Pause the computer s screen. Close the client application and the connection between the computer and the Air Media. Minimize the presentations control screen Display a pop- up menu of additional options. Refer to Configure Operation on page?. NOTE: The application mutes the laptop s local audio, since the audio is transmitted to the device and played through the classroom s speakers. 2

3 AirMedia Advanced Operations Quad View Up to four computers can simultaneously share their desktops with the AirMedia. Shared desktops are arranged with each computer using one quarter of the projected image. (NOTE: If moderator controls are enabled, the screen position can be set by the moderator only. For details, refer to Moderator Controls on page 3.) Perform the following to share multiple desktops simultaneously: 1. Connect the first computer to the Air Media as described in First Time Users on page 1, then connect up to three other computers using the same method. 2. Click the menu button to display a pop- up menu. 3

4 Inside the Pop Up Menu, click Quad View and select a quadrant on the display device; make sure that you select a quadrant that is empty. If you select a quadrant that is already in use, the computer in that quadrant will be replaced with yours. If Full is chosen, any other shared desktops are replaced by the newly shared desktop. Desktop playback ceases on the booted computers. Moderator Controls Moderator controls are used to determine which users can present to the display device and where the presented content is located on the display. Login 1. Open a web browser on a remote computer, and navigate to the web address or the IP address that is displayed on the top left of the Air Media Welcome screen. The download screen is displayed on your computer. 2. Click Layout Control in the upper left corner of the Download screen. The moderator login screen is displayed. 3. Moderator Login Screen 4

5 3. Enter the moderator password (the default password is ( smithwick ) and click Login. The Layout Control screen is displayed showing a list of connected presenters. Layout Control Screen 5

6 Control the Display Layout 1. Click the Moderator check box to enable layout control. If Moderator is enabled, projected image can be changed only by the user who is logged in as the moderator. 2. Up to four connected users can share content on the display at a time. Select the display capability of each connected user. Use the following controls for each connected presenter. Sets the selected presenter to display in full screen. Sets the selected presenter to display in a specific quadrant of the display. Click on the quadrant where the presenter s content is to be displayed. Disconnects the selected presenter from the display. ios (Apple) and Android Sharing 1. Download and open the AirMedia app on your Apple Or Android mobile device. The app is free and is available from the App Store and Google Play. AirPlay requires ios 8 or later for iphone, or JellyBean (4.1) or later for Android. 2. Tap the "Tap to enter receiver hostname or IP" field. 6

7 3. Enter the IP address or location (i.e. FC222) shown on the AirMedia welcome screen. 4. To log in, type the code shown on the AirMedia welcome screen and click Connect. Presenting Content on AirMedia using ios or Android 1. Once connected, the AirMedia app will not immediately display content. 2. To share a Document, Picture, or Shot&Show, select the appropriate icon and search for the file you wish to share. You may need to close other apps on your Mobile Device to allow enough memory to run AirMedia. 7

8 3. Alternatively, you can go to the document (PowerPoint, PDF, Word), and select "Open in" to choose the AirMedia app. 4. Up to four devices can particpate in the quad view, each will need to select a different position. 8

9 5. From the menu in the AirMedia app, you can select other options. Notes: Shot&Show lets you display camera snapshots, or screen shots, immediately after snapping them. Application mirroring and sound are not possible on the ios and Android AirMedia app. 9
