1. Visit birthdaywishescakewalk.org/ to register: a. For first-time walkers continue with Create a New Registration. b. For returning walkers, click the Log In button on the top right of your screen. If you do not remember your password, see page 2 of this packet. c. Sign up as an individual, or get together with a group of friends or colleagues as a team. $35 registration fee per walker. d. We highly encourage you to pre-register so you have the opportunity to fundraise, and we know how many people to expect. If you have a last minute addition to your team, or a friend that would like to join, we will be accepting day-of registrations with a $40 registration fee. e. $25 of your $35 registration fee is tax deductible as allowed by law MA 501c3: Federal Tax ID: 55-0856553
*If you have walked with us before your email is already on file! f. Don t remember your password? Not a problem! Simply enter your email address and you will be sent a link to update your password. g. Please note, for your personal security passwords are not kept within the registration database for staff access. h. Once your password has been reset, click the Log In button on the top right of your screen.
2. Choose a Registration Option. a. You can register as an Individual, Join a Team, or Create a Team. b. Individual participants are encouraged to set a minimum fundraising goal of $100. Teams are encouraged to set a minimum fundraising goal of $500.
3. Continuing your Registration and Creating a Team. a. If you will be attending the event, please register as a Physical Walker. If you cannot join us the day-of the event but would still like to help with fundraising efforts, please register as a Virtual Walker. b. T-Shirts are supplied first-come, first-serve to Physical Walkers only.
4. Complete Registration Payment. a. Once completed, you will receive a confirmation email.
5. Your Page has been created! a. Create a custom URL to be used in email blasts and social networking posts.
6. Update your personal image. a. Add a fun selfie, a picture from last year s event, or keep your initials! b. The more personal the better.
7. Get to know your Head Quarters Page! a. Your personal Head Quarters is your behind the scenes resource kit! You can: i. Promote your page via email (detailed on page 10) ii. Promote your page via social media (detailed on page 11) iii. Edit your personal fundraising page (detailed on page 12) iv. Edit your team page *if on a team* (detailed on page 13) v. Edit your account details and password (detailed on page 14) Close Ups:
8. Promote via Email: a. By clicking Promote via Email on the left toolbar, you can use the system generated email to your friends, family members, coworkers etc. OR write your own fundraising email! b. A sample email can be found here: http://birthdaywishescakewalk.org/join-us/#email
9. Promote via Social Media: a. Connect your Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn pages by clicking Promote via Social Media on the left toolbar.
10. Customize your Personal Fundraising Page: a. Click View My Page on the left toolbar. b. You can update your cover photo, personal photo, welcome message and more! i. Again, the more personal the better keep it fun and interactive.
11. Customize your Fundraising Page: a. Click View Team Page on the left toolbar. b. You can update your cover photo, personal photo, welcome message and more! i. Again, the more personal the better keep it fun and interactive. c. Note that any donation made to your personal fundraising page will add into your team s page automatically. i. Your custom URL is for your personal page but donors can also donate to a specific team.
12. Edit Account Details: a. By clicking Edit Account Details on the left toolbar you can: i. Update your Personal Fundraising Goal ii. Customize your URL iii. Edit Contact Information iv. Change your password v. Opt-Out of donation & Notification emails
