5 Energy Performance Simulation Approximate definition (GARD Analytics, Inc.): Computer modeling of the energy processes within a building that are intended to provide a thermally comfortable environment for the occupants (or contents) of a building. A better definition of BEP simulation Simulation of thermal behavior of a building Buildings are Stochastic, continuous and event oriented systems Available building thermal simulation models are Deterministic, discrete and uniform time unit models Examples of building thermal simulation models EnergyPlus, Energy-10, BLAST, DOE-2, esp-r, TRNSYS, etc.
