Four film grips allow customized film placement on the uniform illuminated surface. Comparisons between old and new studies can be done easily, with all extraneous light collimated out using our unique, individually counterbalanced shades. Care was taken in the design of this illuminator to minimize noise, using energy efficient electronic ballasts and eliminating the need for annoying fans. Variable intensity is standard, ranging from 100% down to 60% increments of 10%. This quantum setup allows the radiologist to select an optimal level of illumination for a specific film and easily and precisely return to this original level. The combination of four independently operated shades for each separate bank of the illuminator, precise collimation with minimal penumbra, extremely bright and uniform illumination, and variable intensity maximize the radiologist ability to uncover important subtle changes on mammograms. Extraneous light is quickly and accurately collimated out using our unique, counterbalanced manual shades (which can close completely). High output, energy efficient, electronic ballasts minimize noise and eliminate the need for annoying fans. Nine F40/D865 daylight fluorescent bulbs and variable intensity lighting, ranging from 100% down to 60% in increments of 10%, allow the radiologist to select an optimal level of illumination for a specific type of film, change the intensity for other films, and easily and precisely return to this original level. The combination of four independently operated shades for precise collimation with minimal penumbra, and extremely bright and uniform variable intensity illumination, maximize the radiologists ability to uncover important subtle changes on mammograms. This illuminator exceeds ACR requirements. The unique design of this illuminator also allows its customization for different format films. Four film grips, with an adjustable center film grip, permit customized film placement on the uniformly illuminated surface. Adjustment of this center film grip allows the viewing of up to eight 24x30cm or twelve 18x24cm films with no extraneous light to hinder reading. 5 24 x 30cm and 18 x 24cm MAMMOGRAPHY SERIES / X R AY S & S X- R AY PR O D UCTS w w w. s s x ra y. c o m Specially designed for viewing 24x30cm ( Series) or 18x24cm ( Series) film, these series of illuminators feature very bright and even lighting in each viewing panel. The series has three F14T8/D daylight fluorescent bulbs per viewing section and the has two F14T8/D bulbs per section. Both series use electronic ballasts to produce flicker free lighting. Each section is individually controlled by an on/off rocker switch, thus allowing the person reading the film to reduce peripheral glare by simply switching off the sections not in use. To further reduce glare and prevent light spillover, the illuminators are provided with divided sections. Each tier is constructed of heavy duty steel, with a continuous gravity grip to hold the film firmly in place, and a one piece plexiglass viewing panel. On multiple bank and two tier units switches are grouped together and mounted in the center of the bottom front panel of the bottom tier. Recessed models are supplied with stainless steel recessing flanges and BX connector. Light output exceeds ACR requirements.
