6 Chapter 1 Overview 1.1 Introduction HikCentral Mobile Client can get access to the Blazer Pro V2.0.1 or previous (hereinafter simplified as Blazer Pro), Blazer Express V1.3 or previous (hereinafter simplified as Blazer Express), or HikCentral V1.1 or previous (hereinafter simplified as HikCentral) via Wi-Fi, 3G, and 4G network, and fulfills the functions of the devices connected to the Blazer Pro, Blazer Express, or HikCentral, such as live view, remote playback, PTZ control, video clipping, and alarm notification. Note: Network traffic charges may be produced during the use of this Mobile Client. Please refer to the local ISP. 1.2 System Requirements The phone should be based on Android OS 4.1 or higher. 1.3 Network Topology Please refer to the following figure for the network topology diagram. 3

7 Chapter 2 Installing and Uninstalling 2.1 Installing the Mobile Client Follow the procedures to install the HikCentral Mobile Client on the Android system. 1. Log in to the Google Play and search the HikCentral. 2. Download the Mobile Client and install it on the Android system. 2.2 Uninstalling the Mobile Client Follow the procedures to uninstall the HikCentral Mobile Client on the Android system. 1. Enter the Application Management page of your mobile phone (e.g., Settings->Apps-> Manage apps). 2. Find the Mobile Client and tap it. 3. In the Application info page of the Mobile Client, tap Uninstall button. 4. Tap OK button to uninstall the Mobile Client. 4

8 Chapter 3 Running the Mobile Client 3.1 Logging In You can log in to the system after filling the required information. Two kinds of user (normal user and domain user) are supported. Tap to open the Mobile Client. Option 1: Login with Normal User 1. Select Normal tab. 2. Check Use HTTPS checkbox if the VSM server s transfer protocol is set as HTTPS. Notes: You should set the transfer protocol for VSM. For details, refer to the User Manual of HikCentral Web Client. HTTPS is only available for HikCentral V Input the server address you want to connect. Or you can tap to display the drop-down list of all the input histories and select a history user and server address. Tap if you want to delete the history items. 4. Input the user name and password in the login page. Note: You should add the user on the Blazer Pro, Blazer Express, or HikCentral via Web Client. For configuration of adding users, refer to the User Manual of Blazer Pro Web Client, User Manual of Blazer Express Web Client, or User Manual of HikCentral Web Client. 5. (Optional) Check Remember Password checkbox to keep the password. 6. Tap Login to log in. Option 2: Login with Domain User 5

9 Note: Login with domain user is only available for accessing the Blazer Pro and HikCentral. 1. Tap Domain tab. 2. Check Use HTTPS checkbox if the VSM server s transfer protocol is set as HTTPS. Notes: You should set the transfer protocol for VSM. For details, refer to the User Manual of HikCentral Web Client. HTTPS is only available for HikCentral V Input the server address you want to connect. 4. Input the domain user name and password. 5. (Optional) Check Remember Password checkbox to keep the password. 6. Tap Login to log in. Notes: If failed login attempt with wrong password is detected, you are required to input the verification code before you can login successfully. The remaining login attempts will be displayed after failed password attempt is detected. The account will be frozen for 10 minutes after 5 failed password attempts. You can set to unlock the account via Web Client. For details, refer to the User Manual of Blazer Pro Web Client, User Manual of Blazer Express Web Client, or User Manual of HikCentral Web Client. The number of the users who simultaneously log in to the Blazer Pro, Blazer Express, or HikCentral via HikCentral Mobile Client is limited by the License you purchased. If the current logged in users have reached the limit, then no more users can login again. You can only log in to Blazer Pro, Blazer Express, or HikCentral via one Mobile Client at the same time. 3.2 Logging Out 1. Tap Me tab to enter the Me page. 2. Tap the Account field. You can check the login information. 6

10 3. Tap Logout. 4. Tap OK in the popup dialog. 3.3 Changing Password You must change the password via Mobile Client in the following situations: Login for First Time For the first time to login with initial password (Abc123), the following hint pops up. Note: It is not available for admin user. Password Expired If your password has expired, you will be asked to change your password when login. Password Reset If your password has been reset, you should login with initial password (Abc123) and then change your password for login. Low Password Strength If your password strength is lower than the required minimum strength, you will be asked to change your password when login. 1. Tap Change in the pop-up hint to enter the Change Password page. 7

11 2. Input the new password. STRONG PASSWORD RECOMMENDED The password strength can be checked by the system. We highly recommend you create a strong password of your own choosing (using a minimum of 8 characters, including upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and special characters) in order to increase the security of your product. And we recommend you reset your password regularly, especially in the high security system, resetting the password monthly or weekly can better protect your product. 3. Confirm the password. 4. Tap OK to finish changing the password. After changing the password, you will log in to system automatically. 8

12 Chapter 4 Video Management 4.1 Camera Management You can view the cameras of the system, check cameras details, search cameras as desired, and add commonly used cameras to the favorites Checking Camera Information 1. Tap the Camera to enter the camera list page. Note: You can slide upwards to get more cameras and you can also slide downwards to refresh the cameras. 2. Tap Control Center or Site filed to select an area to list its cameras. For HikCentral V1.1, you can also select the site, including current site and remote site, and tap its area to list its cameras. You can also tap to search the camera as desired. See Chapter Searching Area or Camera for details. 3. Tap a camera item to view its details, including captured picture, online status, and PTZ control permission. The entries to live view and playback are also available. You can also add the camera to or remove it from the Favorites. 4. Tap to back to the camera list. 9

13 4.1.2 Searching Area or Camera You can search the cameras as desired. 1. Tap on Video page to enter Search page. 2. (Optional) For HikCentral V1.1, tap Site field to select one site. You can also input the keywords of the site name and search the site as desired. Note: Site function is only available for HikCentral system with Remote Site Management module (based on the license you purchased). 3. Tap Camera filed to select Camera or Area. 4. Input the keywords of camera or area. 5. Tap Search on the keypad to search the camera or area you want. After searching camera or area, you can perform the following operations. For camera, tap one camera to view its details, including captured picture of the camera view, area, online status, and PTZ control permission. For Area, tap one area to show the cameras in this area. Tap one camera to view its details. Tap to select the cameras and tap to enter the Selected page. You can tap or to start live view or playback Managing My Favorites You can add the commonly used camera(s) to the Favorites so that you can access the camera(s) conveniently. 1. Tap Favorites to enter the Favorites page. All the cameras added to Favorites display on the Favorites page. 10

14 2. Tap to enter the camera list page. 3. Tap Control Center or Site filed to select an area to list its cameras. For HikCentral V1.1, you can also select the site, including current site and remote site, and tap its area to list its cameras. You can also tap Camera for details. to search the camera as desired. See Chapter Searching Area or 4. Tap (it changes to ) of the camera item to add it to Favorites. You can tap to remove it. 5. Tap to back to the Favorites page. You can see the added cameras. 6. (Optional) Hold one camera and tap Delete in the pop-up dialog to remove the camera from Favorites. 7. Tap a camera item to view its details. You can also tap to remove it from the Favorites or tap to add it to the Favorites. 8. Tap to select the camera, or tap Select All to select all the cameras in Favorites with the limit number. The number of selected cameras will show at the bottom. 9. Tap to enter the Selected page. You can hold one camera and tap Delete in the pop-up dialog to delete the selected camera, or tap Clear to delete all selected cameras. 10. Tap or to start live view or playback. Notes: Up to 64 cameras can be selected for live view. Up to 4 cameras can be selected for playback. 4.2 View Settings You can select a window division and link the cameras to the windows. You can also save the settings as a custom view for live view conveniently. 11

15 1. Tap View to enter the View page. 2. Tap to enter Add page. 3. Input a name for the view. 4. Tap to enter the Camera List page and select a camera to add to the view. 5. Repeat step 4 to add other cameras to the view. You can tap on the window to delete the selected cameras. Note: Up to 64 cameras can be added to the view. 6. Tap Save to save the view. 7. (Optional) You can set to play the view automatically when entering Live View page. 1) Tap Live View Settings on the View page. 2) Set the Auto-Enable Live View in View Mode switch as on. 3) Select a view. After setting the view, you can edit or delete the view. To edit the view, hold one view and tap Edit in the pop-up dialog to edit the view name and windows. To delete the view, hold one view and tap Delete in the pop-up dialog to delete the view. 4.3 Live View In the live view mode, you can realize the PTZ control, capture, video clips and so on. Tap Live View to enter the Live View page. The screen will display in 4-division mode by default. 12

16 The following icons are available on the live view page. Note: You can slide the control bar to left or right to show the hidden icons. Icon Description Go to the View, Camera, or Favorites page. 1/4/9/16-window division. Select a camera for live view. Capture picture of the selected live view window. Note: This function is not supported after hardware decoding enabled. Record the video of the selected live view window. PTZ control panel. Image quality panel. / Stop/recover all the live views. Audio control. Two-way audio. Digital zoom. Note: This function is not supported after hardware decoding enabled. Add the camera or view to Favorites or View. Fisheye dewarping. Note: This function is not supported after hardware decoding enabled Starting Live View Three ways are available for starting the live view. You can view the live video of specific camera, see the live view in customized view mode, or start live view in batch. Note: Up to 64 cameras can be played at the same time. 17 1. Tap to enter the Camera List page. 2. Tap the Conter Center or Site field and select area to display its cameras. For HikCentral V1.1, you can tap to select the site, including current site and remote site, and tap its area to show the cameras. 3. Tap to select one camera for live view. Starting Live View of Specific View 1. Tap. 2. Tap to enter the View page. Note: For setting the view, refer to Chapter 4.2 View Settings. 3. Tap to select a view for live view. Starting Live View in Batch 1. Tap. 2. Tap or to enter the Camera or Favorites page. 3. Tap to select the cameras, or tap Select All to select all cameras. Note: Up to 64 cameras can be selected. 4. (Optional) Tap to view the selected cameras. You can tap hold one camera and tap Delete to delete the selected camera, or tap Clear to delete all selected cameras. 5. Tap to start live view of the selected cameras Stopping Live View During the live view, you can tap (it changes to ) to stop live view of all cameras. And you can also tap to recover the previous live view. Or you can perform the following steps to stop live view of the specific camera. 1. Tap and hold the live view window. 2. Drag the window upwards, and shows on the top of the window. 3. Drag the window to until it changes to and then release the window Window Division You can tap / / / to set the window division as desired. For 1-division mode, there re 64 pages; For 4-division mode, there re 16 page; For 9-division mode, there re 8 pages; For 16-division mode, there re 4 pages. When there are multiple pages of playing windows, you can slide the screen to go to the next or previous page. You can drag and move the window to adjust the window sequence. Note: Only windows on the same page can be exchanged. You cannot drag and move the window to the next page. You can double-tap the live view window to display the camera in 1-division mode and 14

18 double-tap again to restore Recording and Capture In live view mode, select a window in live view and tap to record the video of it. Note: During the recording, turns to and an indicator appears on the upper-left corner of the display window. Tap to capture a picture of camera in live view. Note: Capture is not supported after hardware decoding enabled. You can view and manage the videos and pictures in the Picture and Video page (refer to Chapter 5 Picture and Video) PTZ Control In live view mode, select a playing window and tap to activate PTZ control panel, and the changes to. Note: The PTZ control should be supported by the added device. You can slide on the live view window to realize the pan and tilt functionality. You can also pinch two fingers together to zoom out or spread them apart to zoom in the live view. Icon Description Start/stop the auto-scan. Zoom control: Zoom+/ Zoom- Focus control: Focus+/ Focus- Iris control: Iris+/ Iris- Set, delete, and call the preset. 3D positioning. 15

19 Setting a Preset 1. In the PTZ control mode, slide on the live view window to move the camera to the desired scene. 2. Tap to access the following dialog box. 3. Slide the number area to set the preset No. Note: The preset No. should be between 1 and Tap Set to finish the preset settings. After setting the preset, you can perform the following operations. To call the defined preset, tap the preset and tap Call under it. To delete the defined preset, tap the preset and tap Delete under it Image Quality There are two defined image quality types provided, including SD and HD. Tap to set the quality according to the performance of your network and phone hardware. The image quality type can be automatically switched according to the window division mode. By default, 1-division adopts HD mode, 4-division, 9-division, and 16-division adopt SD mode. Notes: If it fails to switch the image quality automatically after changing the window division mode, the image quality will be remained in the previous mode. If you change the image quality, the live view, and recording of the device may be affected due to the new settings, such as image definition. The live view effect is related to the performance of your network and phone hardware. If the live view is not fluent or the screen appears blurred, set the image quality as SD mode. The video quality of third-party camera and channel-zero camera can only be set as HD Audio Control You can control the audio of the selected channel. Select the channel and slide the icon toolbar to access the hidden icons. Tap to enable the audio of the selected channel. Notes: The audio is enabled when the live view starts by default. When the two-way audio is enabled, the audio control of the channel is not available. 16

20 4.3.9 Two-way Audio Two-way audio function enables the voice talk between the Mobile Client and devices. You can get and display not only the live video but also the real-time audio from the device in the Mobile Client, and the device can also get and display the real-time audio from the Mobile Client. Tap to start the two-way audio with the device in live view. Notes: When the two-way audio of the channel is enabled, the audio control function is not supported. One camera can only talk with one mobile client at the same time. When a camera is talking with a mobile client, an error hint "Two-way audio is occupied. will pop up if another mobile client attempts to connect with this camera for two-way audio. After starting the two-way audio, the current window division mode will automatically switch to the 1-division mode Digital Zoom You can realize the digital zoom during live view. Note: Digital zoom is not supported after hardware decoding enabled. 1. Tap to select a playing window. 2. Slide the icon toolbar to access the hidden icons. 3. Tap. The selected window will display in 1-division mode. 4. Spread two fingers apart to zoom in or pinch them together to zoom out the live view. Or you can double-tap on the live view image to realize digital zoom Adding to Favorites and View In live view mode, you can add the camera or view to the Favorites or View so that you can access the camera or view conveniently. Task 1: Favorites 1. Select a window that is under live view. 2. Tap. 3. Select Favorites. 4. Tap on the video. 5. Tap Done to add the camera to Favorites. Note: If the camera has been added to Favorites, you can tap Favorites. on the video to remove it from 17

21 The added camera displays in Favorites page. In this way, you can find the camera in Favorites conveniently. Task 2: View You can add the current view information to View. 1. Select a window that is under live view. 2. Tap. 3. Select View. 4. Input the name for the view in the pop-up dialog. 5. Tap Save to confirm the settings. After that, you can see the view listed in View page Fisheye Dewarping You can play the live video of the fisheye camera in fisheye dewarping mode. Notes: The fisheye dewarping function should be supported by the device. Fisheye dewarping is not supported after hardware decoding enabled. Tap to show the fisheye dewarping panel. Icon Description Dual-180 panorama view for ceiling mounting and table mounting. 360 panorama view for ceiling mounting and table mounting. Panorama view for wall mounting. PTZ view for ceiling mounting, table mounting, and wall mounting. You can slide on the live view window to realize the pan left/right and tilt up/down movements. You can also pinch two fingers together to zoom out or spread them apart to zoom in the live 18

22 view. Notes: You can tap and drag the image with your finger on the playing window to realize the pan left/right movements in the dual-180 panorama view and 360 panorama view. The available fisheye dewarping modes vary with the mounting type of the fisheye camera. The unavailable fisheye dewarping modes are displayed as grey Full-Screen Live View During live view, you can rotate your phone to enter the full-screen mode. Note: Release the rotation lock of your phone to realize this function. You can touch the screen to activate the control panel after it hides. Icon Description 1/4/9/16-window division. Capture picture of the selected live view window. Note: This function is not supported after hardware decoding enabled. Record the video of the selected live view window. PTZ control panel. Image quality panel. Stop all the live views. Audio control. Two-way audio. Digital zoom. Note: This function is not supported after hardware decoding enabled. 23 4.4 Playback You can search the recorded video files of the added device for playback Starting Playback Two ways are available for starting playback. You can play the video of specific camera, or start playback in batch. Note: Up to 4 cameras can be played at the same time. Starting Playback of Specific Camera 1. Tap Playback to enter the Playback page. 2. Tap to enter the Camera List page. 3. Tap the Conter Center or Site field and select area to display its cameras. For HikCentral V1.1, you can tap to select the site, including current site and remote site, and tap its area to show the cameras. 4. Tap to select one camera for playback. Starting Playback in Batch 1. Tap Playback to enter the Playback page. 2. Tap. 3. Tap or to enter the Camera or Favorites page. 4. Tap to select the cameras, or tap Select All to select all cameras. The number of selected cameras will show at the bottom. Note: Up to 4 cameras can be selected. 4. (Optional) Tap to view the selected cameras. You can hold one camera and tap Delete to delete the selected camera, or tap Clear to delete all selected cameras. 5. Tap to start playback of the selected cameras. 20

24 You can slide the icon toolbar to left or right to show the hidden icons. The following icons are available: Icon / Description Async/Sync Playback. Note: This function is not supported after hardware decoding enabled. Capture picture of the playback window. Note: This function is not supported after hardware decoding enabled. Clip the playback video. / Pause or resume the playback. Adjust the playback speed. Stop the playback. Audio control. Digital zoom. Note: This function is not supported after hardware decoding enabled. Tap to switch the video stream to main stream or sub-stream. Note: This function is only available for HikCentral V1.1, and should be supported by device. Tap to start transcoding. You need to set the resolution, frame rate, and bitrate for transcoding. Notes: This function is only available for HikCentral V1.1. Only video files stored in DVR/NVR devices support transcoding playback. Fisheye dewarping. Note: This function is not supported after hardware decoding enabled. After starting playback, you can perform the following operations. Drag and move the playing window to adjust the window sequence. You can double-tap the playback window to display the camera in 1-division mode and double-tap again to restore. Tap and tap to set the search conditions, including date and storage mode, to search the corresponding videos. Note: For the cameras on the current site, HikCentral provides three storage modes: encoding devices, Central Video Recorder, and Cloud Storage Server. Slide the timeline bar to adjust the playback time. You can also spread two fingers apart to scale up or pinch them together to scale down the timeline bar. Note: The maximum scale interval is one hour and the minimum scale interval is five minutes. 21

25 4.4.2 Stopping Playback You can tap to stop the playback. Or you can perform the following steps to stop the playback of the specified window. 1. Tap and hold the playback window. 2. Drag the window upwards, and shows on the top of the window. 3. Drag the window to until it changes to and then release the window Clipping and Capture During the playback, you can tap to clip the playback video. Note: During the clipping, turns to and an indicator appears on the upper-left corner of the display window. Tap to capture pictures of the camera under playback. Note: Capture is not supported after hardware decoding enabled. You can view and manage the clipped videos and captured pictures in the Picture and Video page (refer to Chapter 5 Picture and Video) Synchronous Playback In synchronous playback, you can play the video files in synchronization. Note: This function is not supported after hardware decoding enabled. 1. Enter the Playback page. 2. Start normal playback of one camera (refer to Chapter Starting Playback). 3. Tap in the toolbar to enable the synchronous playback. Note: The icon is not available when there s no playback. 4. Start normal playback of the other camera(s). All the cameras in playback will start synchronous playback. When you drag the time bar, change the playback speed, or pause the playback, all the cameras in playback will take effect. 2. Tap to disable the synchronous playback. Note: Video files from up to 4 cameras can be played back simultaneously Playback Speed You can set the playback speed of the video files as 1/4X, 1/2X, 1X, 2X, and 4X. 22

26 1. Tap to select a playing window. 2. Tap and select the corresponding speed for playback. Note: The playback speed effect is related to the performance of your network and phone hardware Digital Zoom You can realize the digital zoom during playback of video files. Note: Digital zoom is not supported after hardware decoding enabled or fisheye dewarping enabled. 1. Tap to select a playing window. 2. Slide the icon toolbar to access the hidden icons. 3. Tap. 4. 29 Chapter 5 Picture and Video In Picture and Video management page, you can view and manage video files and pictures that you manually record (clip) and capture in Live View and Playback page. You can also send the pictures and videos to your and share pictures and video files to other available applications. Note: The pictures and videos are dispalyed by date. Tap Me in the bottom right corner and tap Picture and Video to enter the Picture and Video page. If you want to send the pictures and videos to your , please follow the steps. 1. Tap. 2. Tap to select the pictures and videos for sending. 3. Tap and select. 4. On the pop-up page, edit the receiver s account and subject, and tap Send to send the pictures and videos to the designate account. Note: You should set the account for your phone before performing the pictures and videos sending. If you want to delete the pictures and videos in batch, perform the steps below. 1. Tap. 2. Tap to select the pictures and videos you want to delete. 3. Tap to delete the selected files. Tap a picture and the picture displays in full screen. You can tap if you want to delete it, and tap to send it to your or share it to other applications. 2. 31 Chapter 6 Alarm You can get the instant alarm notification if the alarms are configured for being pushed to Mobile Client. You can also manage the alarm information, including checking the alarm information in Mobile Client and filtering the alarms as desired. 6.1 Alarm Notification The alarm message of the cameras that are added to the Blazer Pro, Blazer Express, or current site and remote site of HikCentral can be pushed to your Mobile Client if you enable the alarm notification. You can check the alarm information and view the alarm linked live video and playback. Notes: For enabling alarm notification, refer to Chapter 6.1 Alarm Notification. You should configure the camera with alarm notification as alarm linkage. For details, refer to the User Manual of Blazer Pro Web Client, User Manual of Blazer Express Web Client, or User Manual of HikCentral Web Client. 1. Tap Me. 2. Tap to enter the Settings page. 3. Set the Notification switch as on to enable the alarm notification. When the Mobile Client received the alarm notificaiton, the following window pops up. Note: If you do not run the Mobile Client or it runs in the background, you can go to the notification center of your phone to check the received alarm notification. You can check the alarm details, including the alarm type, alarm time, and alarm source. If you set related cameras for the alarm, the live view and playback items are available. Tap Live View or Playback to view the live video or video file of the camera. Notes: The related video files of the current day that has alarm occurred will be searched, and it will be played from 5 minutes before the alarm occurs. E.g., if the motion detection alarm occurred at 11:30, then the video file plays from 11:25. By default, the releated live view or playback will display in 4-division mode and if only one 28

32 camera is linked, the releated live view or playback will display on the first window of the default 4-division mode. 6.2 Alarm Information You can also check the alarm information in Alarm module, and mark and filter the alarms as desired. 1. Tap Alarm to enter the Alarm page. The alarm information will display. You can check the alarm details, including alarm type, alarm source, and alarm time. Notes: For HikCentral V1.1, you can see device alarm time and mobile alarm time. When the remote site is not in the same time zone with the current site, you can see two differernt alarm time. You can slide upwards to load more alarm messages, and slide downwards to get the latest alarm information. 2. Tap to mark the corresponding alarm message. You can tap again to unmark it. 3. Tap Filter to filter the alarms. 1) Set the start time and end time. 2) Set Show Marked Alarm Only switch as ON to display the marked alarm only. 3) Tap OK to save the filter condition. If you want to clear all the filter condition, you can tap Reset. 4. Tap an alarm message in the list. The following dialog pops up. 29

Notes: The related video file of the day that has alarm occurred will be searched, and it will be played from 5 minutes before the alarm occurs. By default, the releated live views or playbacks will be displayed in 4-division mode and if only one camera is linked, the releated live view or playback will be displayed on the first window of the default 4-division mode. 30

34 Chapter 7 Other Functions 7.1 Account Information You can check the current login user, login mode, server information, server address, and edit the server alias to make it more identifiable next time you login. 1. Tap Me. 2. Tap Account to enter Account page. You can view the current login user, login mode, server information, server address, and alias. Tap User Name field to show the history login account. You can tap the history login account to switch system and account conveniently. 3. (Optional) Edit an alias for the server. 1) Tap Alias. 2) Input an alias for the server. Notes: By default, the alias is the server address. The same alias adopted for different servers is not available in the current mobile phone. 3) Tap Save to save the settings. 7.2 Hardware Decoding Hardware decoding can provide better decoding performance and lower CPU usage when playing the HD videos during live view or playback. 31

You can check the mobile network traffic and Wi-Fi network traffic separately. 1. Tap Me. 2. Tap enter the Settings page. 3. Tap Flow Statistic to view the data usage. Mobile Network: Refer to the cellular data consumed during live view and remote playback. Wi-Fi: Refer to the Wi-Fi data consumed during live view and remote playback. Current Day: The traffic data consumed today. Current Month: The traffic data consumed this month. 4. (Optional) You can tap to empty the data. 32
