1 ALI-IPV5060RP 6MP 360 Fisheye IP Camera Quick Installation Guide This document guides you through the basic steps to install and configure the ALI-IPV5060RP cameras. The ALI-IPV5060RP camera features: 1/1.8 progressive scan CMOS 6 mega-pixel image sensor Up to 3072 x 2048 resolution, 30 fps 360 fisheye panoramic view Multiple viewing modes Internal MicroSD card slot for storage up to 64 GB (card not provided) Virtual PTZ mode 50 ft IR range Built-in microphone and speaker For more information about the software features of this camera, please refer to the ALI-IP Camera Software User Manual. Before installing the camera... Ceiling Pendant Mount Bracket The ALI-IPV5060RP camera can be installed on a ceiling, wall or table, or installed with any of the optional mounting brackets listed above. 1. Check the package contents and make sure that the device in the package is in good condition and all the assembly parts are included. 2. Make sure the mounting surface and fasteners are strong enough to withstand at least three times the weight of the camera assembly and the mounting bracket (if used). For concrete or cement block walls, use an expansion screw to secure the camera or mounting bracket. 3. Make sure all the equipment that will be attached to the camera is power-off during the installation, if possible. 4. Check the specification of the products for the installation environment. 5. Make sure the power supply is matched with the camera voltage and wattage specification to avoid damage. 6. Make sure that there are no reflective surface too close to the camera lens. The IR light from the camera may reflect back into the lens causing reflection. 7. Do not remove the dome cover film until the installation is finished. Dust or grease on the dome cover will cause IR reflection. If there is dust or grease on the dome cover, clean the dome cover with clean soft cloth and isopropyl alcohol. Audio OUT RS-485 connector Bezel lock screw under cover. 12 Vdc Power RJ-45 LAN connector Step 2. Remove the Bezel Prepare the camera for installation 1. Remove the camera assembly from the packaging. Do not remove the plastic film from that covers the lens at this time. 2. Lay the camera on a clean, flat surface with the lens side up. 3. Open the Bezel Lock Screw cover. Use the security L-wrench to fully unscrew the bezel lock screw. NOTE: The bezel lock screw is a captive screw. 5. Unsnap the cover from the camera assembly. 6. Unsnap the bezel from the camera assembly. If the bezel cannot be separated from the camera assembly, turn the camera base side up and push a small blade screwdriver into the slots shown in the photo below to free the three bezel retention tabs from catches on the camera assembly. Optional mounting brackets Security L-wrench and mounting hardware The mounting brackets listed below are available for the ALIBI ALI-IPV5060RP camera. 2 To remove the MicroSD card, push the card all the way in to release it from the connector, then lift it out of the slot. 5. Reinstall the oval shaped cover that conceals the MicroSD card and the Reset button. Mount the camera Use the following procedure to flush-mount the camera onto a ceiling or wall. The procedure is identical for all three, except for a parameter difference in the camera setup menu, and the orientation of the camera for wall installations, and. Pictures shown here are for a ceiling installation. 1. Route extension cables from the camera mounting location to the devices it will connect to. Do not connect them to these devices at this time. The camera provides the following drop cables to connect to other devices: Power with screw-down terminals for 12 Vdc powering. NOTE: The camera can also be powered through the LAN (PoE). Ethernet with RJ-45 connector. A protective jacket for the RJ-45 connector is provided with the camera. Alarm IN/OUT with screw-down terminals. Terminal identification is provided on the connector. Alarm terminal identifiers RS485 terminal identifiers (D+, D-) Insert MicroSD card into the camera Camera face with bezel removed A MicroSD card installed in the provides local storage for video recordings, capture files, and log data. NOTE: If the camera is not managed by an NVR or other video management system (VMS) and doesn t have a MicroSD card installed, video recordings, capture files, and log data are not saved. 1. Remove the bezel. 2. Use the security L-wrench to remove the oval cover that conceals the MicroSD card slot and the Reset button. 3. Insert a MicroSD card into the card slot as shown in the photo below. The label on the card should face out. RS485 drop cable with screw-down terminals. Terminal identification is provided on the connector. Audio IN Audio OUT 2. Prepare the camera for installation. See Step 2. Prepare the camera for installation on page Obtain the appropriate fasteners for securing the camera to the mounting surface. The fasteners should support at least three times the weight of the camera. The screws and wall inserts provided with the camera are adequate for many surfaces. 4. Use the Drill Template provided to mark and drill the holes in the ceiling for the fasteners (mounting screws). Also drill a hole for the drop cables. For wall mount installation, orient the template so that the arrow points up (perpendicular to the plane of your surveillance target). MicroSD card shown in slot NOTE For wall mount installation, the camera must be oriented so the UP label on the face of the camera is at the top. UP label 4. Push the MicroSD card into the slot as far as possible, and then release it. It should click into place when fully inserted. Camera Reset button 5. 3 6. Connect the extension cables to the camera drop cables. Use the protective jacket for the LAN cable connector, if needed. NOTE Drop cable connectors are not waterproof. 7. Position the camera at the mounting location so that the screws heads are in the mounting screw slots, and then turn the camera clockwise until the screws are fully seated in the slots. 4. To open the ALIBI Discover Tool, double click the file ALIBI Discover Tool.exe. The tool will automatically discover ALIBI cameras and recorders installed on the network. 8. Tighten the mounting screws until snug. Be careful not to over-tighten them. 9. Connect the extension cables to the devices the camera will connect to. Be sure the devices you connect the cables to are not powered on. 10. Apply power to the devices the camera is connected to, including 12 Vdc power or LAN PoE. 11. Reinstall the camera bezel. 12. Remove the protective film from the camera lens dome. Clean the dome with isopropyl alcohol if needed. 13. Using a computer connected to the LAN the camera is attached to, configure the network access to the camera including: Install Alibi Discover (see Step 4. Install the Alibi Discover Tool on page 3). Configure the network settings (see Step 5. Change device network settings (IP address) on page 3). 14. Log into camera to perform camera setup procedures including: Log in to the camera (see Step 6. Initial remote login on page 4). Configure camera fisheye parameters (see Step 7. Setup Fisheye Parameters on page 5). For ceiling mounted cameras, select the Mount Type as Ceiling. For wall mounted cameras, select the Mount Type as Wall. For table mounted cameras, select the Mount Type as Table. Configure PTZ camera video streams (see Step 9. Setup PTZ video streams on page 5). Change administrative password. See Step 10. Change default password on page 6. Step 5. Change device network settings (IP address) To change the network settings of the camera to be compatible with the subnet where it is installed, do the following: 1. Click the device to highlight it. Notice that the network parameters are shown in the right frame. 15. Perform advanced camera configuration steps as needed. Refer to the ALIBI IP Camera Software User Manual provided on CD with your system, or on your vendor s website. These configure steps should include the following: Configuring alarm input and output Configure recording schedules Configure event recording (motion detection, traversing virtual plane, intrusion, etc.) Traversing Virtual Plane Detection Intrusion Detection Add access users to the camera Step 4. Install the Alibi Discover Tool The ALIBI Discover Tool is a software utility used to discover ALIBI cameras and NVRs/DVRs installed on the LAN and change their network settings. The tool is provided on the CD with your camera. To use the tool: 1. Insert the software CD provided with your camera into an optical drive on the Microsoft Windows computer you will use to access your camera on the LAN. 2. On the CD, find the folder that contains the ALIBI Discover Tool. 3. Copy the files in the folder to a new directory on your computer. The files should appear as shown in the directory shown below. 2. Modify the network settings to values compatible with the subnet where it is installed. 3. Enter the admin password for the device in the password field. By default, the admin user password for ALIBI cameras is Click the Save button. 4 5. The new IP address, port, etc. settings will appear in the list with the device you modified. Step 6. Initial remote login To access the camera from a computer on the LAN for the first time: 1. Open your Microsoft Internet Explorer browser on your compute and enter the IP address of the camera in the URL field. In the example below, the IP address of the camera is c. After clicking Add, the IP address will appear in the Websites list. Click Close. d. If a message on the screen requesting that you install a plug-in (see below), click on the message and continue with the following sub-steps. A message box will appear at the bottom of the window to install the WebComponents plug-in. Otherwise, continue with step Step 7. Setup Fisheye Parameters on page In the login window, enter your User Name and Password in the appropriate fields, then click Login. The default User Name and Password for ALIBI cameras is admin and If this is the first time you are logging into the camera at this IP address AND you are using Internet Explorer 10 or newer, you must configure IE for Compatibility mode: a. In Internet Explorer, click the Tools icon (located to the right of the tabs), then select Compatibility View settings from the drop-down menu. e. In the message box, click Run to install WebComponents.exe. The following pop-up window will open. When this window appears, close the browser. f. Click Next to install WebComponents. Allow the plug-in installation to complete. When the following window appears, click Finish. b. In the Compatibility View Settings window, ensure that the IP address of your camera is in the Add this website field, then click Add Observint Technologies. All rights reserved.

5 Step 8. Setup Storage Management In the Storage Management menu, you can prepare a storage device, such as an internal micro SD card or a NAS (See the ALIBI IP Camera Software User Manual) for use. These devices usually must be formatted before they can store data from the camera. You can also set the percentages of Pictures (Captures) and Video recordings across the storage device. To open the Storage Management menu, go to Setup tab Storage Storage Management g. Log into the camera again. A Live View display will appear. PTZ Preset - Path select tabs PTZ button PTZ control panel In the example above, a 16 GB MicroSD card was installed in the camera. 1. Check the box for the HDD you want to configure. NOTE If the Status of the HDD is Offline, the HDD is not recognized. Check the settings on the NAS menu. See the document ALIBI IP Camera Software User Manual provided on the software and documentation CD with your camera. Step 7. Setup Fisheye Parameters Alibi Fisheye cameras include a special setup menu called Fisheye Parameters. This menu is used to configure the camera for the mounting orientation (type - Wall, Table, or Ceiling), and Real Time Mode (Enable or Disable). These parameters affect the Live View mode options, image effect, PTZ control, Preset scene, etc. PTZ View and panoramic view cannot be performed at the same time in Live View mod. Also, when a PTZ view is displayed, no local recording is performed. When configuring an Alibi Fisheye camera, use this menu to select the applicable Mounting Type parameter. To configure this menu: 1. Open the Fisheye Parameter menu. Go to Setup tab System Fisheye Parameter 2. In the HDD Device List, if the Status external storage device (HDD) you added shows an Uninitialized status: a. Click the Format button to format the HDD. Format performs a full format of the HDD (erases all data from the disk). b. In the Message from webpage pop-up window, click OK to continue. c. Wait until the format process completes before continuing. When formatting completes successfully, the HDD status will change to Normal. 3. Edit the percentages of the HDD allocated for Picture and Record data as needed. 4. Click Save. Step 9. Setup PTZ video streams 1. In the Live View window shown above, click on the fisheye image. Notice that each video stream is identified as 1, 2, or 3 in each video stream and on the fisheye image. 2. Open the Mount Type drop-down list and select the applicable mounting orientation of the camera: Wall, Table or Ceiling. 3. In the Real-time Mode field, select either Enable or Disable. 4. 6 4. In both the Password and Confirm fields, enter a new password. The password can contain 0.. 9, A.. Z, and a.. z. Record your new password for future reference. 5. Click the OK button at the bottom of the window. Step 11. Additional configuration steps Refer to the document ALIBI IP Camera Software User Manual provided on the software and documentation CD with your camera to customize the configuration of your camera. Specifications Camera 2. Select one of the three video streams, and then use the PTZ control panel to adjust the direction and focus of the image. Change default password Zoom out Patrol setup Observint Technologies strongly recommends that you change the default admin user password in your camera from 1111 to a different code to help protect against unauthorized access. You must login to the camera with the admin user name to change the admin password. To change the admin password: 1. Click the Setup tab, and then click Security in the left frame. 2. Click the User tab in the menu on the right. 3. Click the admin User Name to select (highlight) it, and then click the Modify button. The Modify User pop-up window will open.
