6 Chapter 2 System Overview 2.3 System flow Below flowchart shows the GSM module main loop procedure. 7 Chapter 3 GSM Module Control 3 GSM Module Control This chapter introduces how to control the GSM module. MCU could control the GSM engine via AT commands by UART. 3.1 MCU Resource and Configuration To control the GSM module, the UART macro is necessary; meanwhile, some GPIOs also are used to power on GSM module, reset sequence, and detect SIM card. UART Features in this system: 1. Baud rate is 4800 bps (selectable) 2. 8bit data length, 1bit stop bit, No parity, LSB bit direction 3. Transmit & Receive interrupt are used MCU-AN E-10 Page 7

Get product identification information via ATI 2. Set SMS message to TEXT format via AT+ CMGF=1 3. Set target cell phone number via AT+CMGS="XXXXXXXXXXX 4. 9 Chapter 3 GSM Module Control Receiving SMS Message Procedure Follow below steps, a SMS massage could be read. 1. Set SMS massage to TEXT format via AT+ CMGF=1. 2. Read SMS message via AT+CMGR=1 (Assume there is a message in position 1). 3. MCU would receive the message and status Deleting SMS Message Procedure 1. Delete SMS message via AT+CMGD=1 (Assume there is a message in position 1). 2.
