2 The Intercel Smart SAM series of modems are well known and used widely wherever a cellular solution is required. The new Smart SAM4 4G LTE category 1 modem is physically and electrically compatible to the 3G and 2G versions, making swap outs in the field easy. Importantly the new 4G modem comes with the Intercel Smart Stack as standard which will allow you to make full use of your preferred mobile network irrespective of the capability of your remote device. Housed in a strong and lightweight ABS case and with full Industrial Grade components, the Smart SAM4 is ideal for all Industrial remote data applications including: Remote Meter Reading / Smart Metering Fleet Management Security Signage Irrigation and other control applications. 5 SAR-Statement The Smart SAM4Q is an LTE/WCDMA based modem. It provides LTE Cat.1 and HSPA+ connectivity. This modem is based on the Qualcomm LTE Cat.1 baseband processor and designed for Machine-to-Machine/ IoT applications. This modem does not have an integral antenna. Depending on customers requests, the Smart SAM4Q modem may/may not be supplied with an antenna. In the case of customers wanting to acquire the antennas themselves, the antenna specification is included in the User Guide. A typical application will require the Smart SAM4Q be connected to an external 700/850/1800/1900/2100/2600 MHz antenna as described in the User Guide. Based on the standards EN50385 and EN50383, a minimum safety operating distance has been calculated and stated in the User Guide Safety distance requirement: The Smart SAM4Q modem should NOT be operated when a person is within 203mm (8 inches) of the modem. Road safety always comes first The Smart SAM4Q modem receives and transmit radio frequency energy while switched on, therefore interference can occur if the SAM4Q is near TVs, radios, PCs or any inadequately shielded equipment. This symbol on the product indicates that this product shall not be treated as household waste. It must be placed at an appropriate collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.
