8 Trial criteria and nomination form Trial criteria In order to qualify for #LumiaBizTrial, the business that you nominate must conform to the following criteria and all relevant information must be completed. The trial is only available in the UK It is open to SMBs with handset opportunities Business with handsets opportunities must be within four months of their handset refresh date Business with handsets opportunities must be within six months of their handset refresh date You must include the name and details of the contact at the business who will be responsible for the trial You must also include the name and details of the decision maker at the business who is responsible for the handset estate and mobile strategy 8

16 Comms during the trial We will stay in contact with your customer during the trial process to ensure they get the most out of the Lumia devices and the related Microsoft services. We re also interested in their feedback as a way of improving the trial, and Microsoft products and services. We will do this through and text message (SMS). For this reason we will be asking the customer to provide their mobile phone number, as well as the names, mobile phone numbers and addresses of the people assigned to the two remaining hand sets. It may be a good idea to talk to your customers early on about who they have in mind for the additional handsets. What s in it for them? As well as first-line support, we re offering businesses the chance to win the trial pack at the end of the six weeks. Anyone who replies to a feedback request will be entered into a prize drawer. 16

20 FAQs The trial 1. How long is the trial? The trial is designed to last 45 days from the day that you receive the trial pack. Please note that Microsoft reserve the right to change the length of the trial at any time and their decision is final in all matters. 2. Are there any obligations from taking part in the trial? By taking part in the 45-day free trial, you are under no obligation to purchase Lumia for your business. Once your company receive the trial pack, it is your company s responsibility to look after the trial pack and its contents for the duration of the trial. Microsoft will organise the return of the pack. Once returned, Microsoft will verify that all of the contents of the pack are in acceptable condition. Damage to the devices could result in you being charged the full SIM-free price for replacing the handsets. 3. How do I know if I am eligible? Your company must meet a number of criteria to be eligible for the trial, as well as providing some key information about your company in order to ensure the trial pack is delivered correctly and to the right people. The information that we receive will only be used to support the trial process. The end of the trial 4. What happens at the end of my trial? Towards the end of your trial, Microsoft will call you to see how you have got on. If you would like to proceed with Lumia for your business, then one of your suppliers will be in touch. If you would like to return the phones, we will arrange a convenient date for Microsoft to collect the trial pack. 5. How do I return the pack at the end of the trial period? You will be contacted by Microsoft in the final week of the trial. As an alternative, you can also contact your Microsoft representative, whose details can be found on 20

21 Contents the letter you received with your trial pack to arrange next steps. If you do not want to proceed with Lumia for your business, Microsoft will arrange with you a date to collect the pack. You will need to ensure that the pack is ready for collection by the nominated courier company on the agreed date. 6. Who do I contact if I am interested in purchasing Lumia devices? If you would like to purchase Lumia devices for your business, please contact your Microsoft representative, whose details are on the bottom of the letter that you received with your trial pack. Phones and SIM cards 7. Can I keep my mobile number on the new SIM card? When you speak to your operator, simply ask to keep your mobile number on the new SIM card. They will be able to supply a SIM card that is the correct size for the Lumia device you are trialling and move your phone number over at a convenient time. 8. Do all three trial handsets have the same sized SIM cards? No. The Lumia 630 has a Micro SIM, the Lumia 735 and Lumia 830 both use Nano SIM cards. 9. Can I use my old SIM card once my trial is over? Once your trial is finished, if you choose to return to your old handset, you can use your old SIM card in your old handset, or speak to your network provider to get a new SIM card or SIM card adaptor. Problems and support 10. What happens if a phone is faulty or broken? If for any reason you have a problem with any of your phones, please contact a Microsoft representative, whose contact details are on the bottom of your trial pack letter. 11. Who do I contact if I need any technical support during my trial? We re on-hand to provide help and support at every stage of your Lumia journey. Please contact our Lumia Hotline on for any technical support during normal office hours. 21

22 Terms and conditions By signing up to take part in the six-week free trial of three Lumia devices, you are accepting the following terms and conditions: 1. Every trial pack will consist of three trial devices which are the Lumia 630, Lumia 735 and Lumia 830. Each phone will come complete with the corresponding box and charger. The trial pack will also include a video pack, 3 x Quick Start Guides, an introductory brochure and free trial offer for Office 365 and a personalised letter. These will all be sealed inside a Presentation box that will be securely packaged inside a delivery box. Upon signing for the trial pack, your organisation takes responsibility for the whole package, and any damage to or loss of any of the elements may require payment to the value of the goods damaged or lost. To calculate this cost we will use the SIM-free value of the damaged or lost handsets at the time the trial started (from 95 to 300 depending on the device). 2. By signing up for the trial, you are giving Microsoft the right to use any quotes, survey information and data gained from your participation in the trial for promotional purposes that are deemed relevant to the trial you have signed up to. 3. Microsoft will not sell your information to any third parties, but may distribute this to relevant organisations as they see fit for related business opportunities. 4. The trial is designed to be for a period of six-weeks (45 days), but Microsoft reserve the right to extend or cut short any trial as they see fit. 5. Using the devices for your business and personal purposes is at your own risk and Microsoft shall not be liable for any damages arising out of your use of the devices. 6. In the Quick Start Guides provided as part of your trial pack, Microsoft have recommended some of the best apps for business. Whilst this is a recommendation from Microsoft, some of these apps are from third parties, and Microsoft takes no responsibility of any problems caused or business lost should these not work as intended. All other content in the Quick Start Guides has been created to provide useful information to help with your business needs, but all content should be taken as recommendation. Microsoft take no responsibility for any problems that occur from following the recommendations in the guides. 22

23 Contents 7. By registering for the trial, you are not automatically guaranteed to be included in the trial. Microsoft reserve the right to reject any signup application as they see fit and Microsoft s decision is final in all matters. 8. To be eligible to receive this trial in the first instance, Microsoft have a number of qualifying criteria relating to company size, job title of the trial applicant, time from your business phone contract renewal, as well as the number of handsets in your organisation. If for any reason, you do not satisfactorily meet these criteria then, regretfully, Microsoft will not send you a trial pack on this occasion. 9. Unless otherwise agreed, the trial is limited to one per organisation. 10. The organisation which you are representing and agreeing to trial the devices on behalf of must also conform to the Anti-Bribery and Corruption and Bribery Act of If you are unsure of this policy, please go to justice.gov.uk/downloads/ legislation/bribery-act-2010-guidance.pdf before agreeing to the trial. 11. At the end of the trial, if you wish to sign up for Lumia devices for your business you may be able to keep the handsets from your trial, but Microsoft reserve the right to insist upon collection of the devices. 12. If you would not like to sign up to Lumia devices at the end of your trial, you will have to return the Lumia devices in working condition to Microsoft. Microsoft will contact you before the end of the trial to arrange a date for collection of the devices and pack within two working weeks of the end of the trial. You will be responsible for packaging the phones in the original packaging, and preparing the trial pack for collection at the mutually agreed date. If you are unable to arrange a suitable date and time, it is your responsibility to return the devices. Devices need to be returned to The Great Barn, East Hendred, Wantage, Oxfordshire, OX12 8JY. 13. If you fail to return the devices within 15 working days from the end of the trial, Microsoft may charge you the SIM-free list price of the device at the time the trial started(total: 600 for three devices). 14. Microsoft hereby disclaims any implied warranties with regards to the devices and this programme and Microsoft shall not be liable for any indirect, special, consequential, incidental or punitive cost, damages or expense of any kind, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, howsoever arising under or in connection with this trial. 23
