4 Big Data Scientist CERTIFICATION A Big Data Scientist has demonstrated proficiency in the application of principles, processes, and techniques required for exploring and analyzing large volumes of complex data with the goals of discovering novel insights, developing data products, and communicating analytic results that can drive decision-making. A Big Data Scientist understands the art of model development and evaluation and possesses an in-depth knowledge of both fundamental and advanced analysis techniques required for building descriptive and predictive models. The Big Data Science track is comprised of BDSCP Modules 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6, the outlines for which are provided in the upcoming pages. Depending on the exam format chosen, attaining the Big Data Science certification can require passing a single exam or multiple exams. Upon achieving the accreditation, certification holders receive a formal digital certificate and an Acclaim/Credly digital badge with an account that supports the online verification of certification status. For each certification, candidates have three flexible exam format options: Complete one module-specific exam for each course module in Big Data Scientist certification track. This is recommended for those who want to progress gradually through the track and who would like to be assessed after each course module before proceeding to the next. Complete a single combined exam for the entire Big Data Scientist certification track. Recommended for those who want to only take a single exam that encompasses all course modules within this track. Complete a partial exam. Recommended for those who have already obtained a BDSCP certification and would like to achieve the Big Data Scientist certification without having to be retested on BDSCP Modules 1 and 2. 14 Big Data Analysis & Science Lab MODULE 06 This course module covers a series of exercises and problems designed to test the participant s ability to apply knowledge of topics covered previously in course modules 4 and 5. Completing this lab will help highlight areas that require further attention, and will further prove hands-on proficiency in Big Data analysis and science practices as they are applied and combined to solve real-world problems. As a hands-on lab, this course incorporates a set of detailed exercises that require participants to solve various inter-related problems, with the goal of fostering a comprehensive understanding of how different data analysis techniques can be applied to solve problems in Big Data environments and used to make significant, relevant predictions that offer increased business value. For instructor-led delivery of this lab course, the Trainer works closely with participants to ensure that all exercises are carried out completely and accurately. Attendees can voluntarily have exercises reviewed and graded as part of the class completion.
