Application 1.1 The accreditation regulation applies to accredited laboratories, providers of Proficiency Testing, laboratories accredited to certification of reference materials, certification and inspection bodies and CO 2 verifiers, hereafter named accredited companies. 1.2 The accreditation regulation contains a description of DANAK s accreditation mark and provisions for accredited companies use of the accreditation mark, including the duty to use the accreditation mark when reporting accredited services. 1.3 In addition the accreditation regulation contains provisions for the use of the ILAC mark respectively the IAF mark together with DANAK s accreditation mark. 2. DANAK s accreditation mark 2.1 DANAK s accreditation mark consists of Royal crown + DANAK together with the company s type of accreditation and registration number with DANAK. 2.2 DANAK uses the following abbreviations for types of accreditation: 1) TEST: Testing laboratoriums (17025); 2) CAL: Calibration laboratoriums (17025); 3) EXAM: Medical laboratoriums (15189); 4) PT: Providing of Proficiency Testing (17025) together with ILAC G13); 5) RM: Laboratories accredited to certification of reference materials (17025 together with ISO Guide 34); 6) SYSTEM: Management systems (17021); 7) PERSON: Certification of persons (17024); 8) PROD: Certification of products (45011); 9) INSP: Inspection bodies (17020); 10) DK-V: Environmental verification (EMAS). 2.3 When granting an accreditation to a company, DANAK decides which specific accreditation area within the type of accreditation the accreditation covers and an accreditation number is assigned to the company. 2.4 If a company is accredited to two or more types of accreditations the accreditation mark for the type covered by the accredited service shall be used. 2.5 DANAK s accreditation mark is shown in Appendix 1 and shall be used in the shown colour or in another monochrome reproduction. The accreditation mark must be used in the shown size or in another smaller or larger version that retains the relative proportions of the elements or as agreed by DANAK. 2.6 Instead of DANAK s accreditation mark, accredited companies may refer to their accreditation by using the following text on accredited reports and certificates: Akkrediteret af DANAK under registreringsnummer xxxx til henholdsvis 1) prøvning, 2) kalibrering, 3) medicinsk undersøgelse, 4) udbud af præstationsprøvning 5) certificering af referencematerialer 6) certificering af ledelsessystemer,

2 Page : 2/8 7) certificering af personer, 8) certificering af produkter, eller CO 2 -verifikation 9) inspektion eller 10) miljøverifikation (ved miljøverifikation tilføjes DK-V foran registreringsnummeret); or Accredited by DANAK under registration number xxxx to respectively 1) testing, 2) calibration, 3) medical examination, 4) providers of Proficiency Testing 5) laboratories accredited to certification of reference materials 6) certification of management systems, 7) certification of personnel, 8) certification of products, or GHG-verification 9) inspection or 10) EMAS verification ( DK-V shall be added in front of the registration number) other languages may be used after agreement with DANAK. 2.7 The provisions of this regulation concerning use of DANAK s accreditation mark also apply to reference to accreditation as described in The use of DANAK s accreditation mark etc. 3.1 Accredited companies are obliged to use DANAK s accreditation mark in accordance with the provisions in this document. 3.2 Use of the accreditation mark on reports and certificates or reference to accreditation, cf. 2.6 above, is documentation that the service has been conducted as an accredited service under the company s DANAK accreditation. 3.3 DANAK s accreditation mark shall be used in combination with the accredited company s own logo and name and may not appear more conspicuous than those. 3.4 When the accredited company s logo and name or other information about the company is used in combination with DANAK s accreditation mark this must not give rise to any misunderstanding as to who is accredited and thereby covered by the registration no. with DANAK or as to what is covered by the accreditation. 3.5 When accredited services are reported to the claimant DANAK s accreditation mark must not be used in such a way as to give the impression that DANAK has issued the report, the certificate, attestation, or has approved the system, product or service etc. covered by the document. 3.6 All accredited services must be reported to the claimant on documents (laboratory reports, inspection reports, certificates, attestations, etc.) carrying DANAK s accreditation mark or refers to accreditation, cf. 2.6 above, and the company s logo and/or name. 3.7 Specific circumstances can be the basis for an agreement with DANAK about omission to use the accreditation mark if the claimant in writing has requested no reporting on documents which refer to the accreditation as mentioned in 3.6 above.

3 Page : 3/8 3.8 However, reports and certificates included in item 3.7 must be treated and registered by the accredited company as accredited services. 3.9 In addition to use on accredited reports and certificates, DANAK s accreditation mark may also be used by accredited companies on other documents in association with the accreditation, for instance, letters, tenders for accredited services, information and advertising material, websites, etc. DANAK s accreditation mark must not be used on business cards If DANAK s accreditation mark is used on other material than accredited reports and certificates, see (3.9) above, the services covered by the company s accreditation shall be indicated If the accredited company has more than one DANAK accreditation, its letters and other material that have a common feature for all the accreditations may be provided with DANAK s accreditation mark, possibly with a description of the accredited service for each registration number. The accreditation mark shall contain all accreditation areas and registration numbers, see the description in section Applicants for accreditation may not use the DANAK accreditation mark Accredited companies may only use DANAK s accreditation mark for the areas of their accreditation Accredited companies may not pass the right to use DANAK s accreditation mark to others, including users of accredited services All use of DANAK s accreditation mark shall immediately be brought to an end when the accreditation is terminated. Materials which refer to the DANAK accreditation may not be used when the accreditation is terminated When suspending an accreditation DANAK decides about the company s possibilities to continue to refer to the DANAK accreditation, including possible withdrawal of already issued accredited reports and certificates. 4. The ILAC mark and use of the combined laboratory mark 4.1 Accredited laboratories may enter into an agreement with DANAK about the use of the ILAC mark together with DANAK s accreditation mark. 4.2 The ILAC mark and DANAK s accreditation mark are in the following designated as the combined laboratory mark. 4.3 The combined laboratory mark is shown in Appendix 2 and shall be used in the shown colours or in a monochrome reproduction. The combined laboratory mark must be used in the shown size or in another smaller or larger version that retains the relative proportions of the elements or as agreed by DANAK. 4.4 Use of the combined accreditation mark on reports and certificates is documentation that the laboratory service is conducted as an accredited service under the company s DANAK accreditation and that the laboratory is accredited by an accreditation body DANAK which has signed the international agreement on mutual recognition of accredited reports and certificates (the ILAC MRA agreement). 4.5 If an accredited laboratory has entered into a written agreement with DANAK concerning use of the combined laboratory mark this must be used instead of DANAK s accreditation mark when reporting accredited services, cf above or on other documents, cf above.

4 Page : 4/8 4.6 If the combined laboratory mark is used instead of DANAK s accreditation mark the provisions in above and above about the use of DANAK s accreditation mark shall apply to the use of the combined laboratory mark. 4.7 The ILAC mark may not be used alone, and the combined laboratory mark may only be used of laboratories, which have entered into a written agreement with DANAK about this. 5. The IAF mark and the use of the combined certification mark 5.1 Accredited certification bodies may enter into a written agreement with DANAK about the use of the IAF mark together with DANAK s accreditation mark. 5.2 The IAF mark and DANAK s accreditation mark are in the following designated as the combined certification mark. 5.3 The combined certification mark is shown in Appendix 3 and shall be used in the shown colours or in a monochrome reproduction. The combined certification mark must be used in the shown size or in another smaller or larger version that retains the relative proportions of the elements or as agreed by DANAK. The combined certification mark must, however, not be smaller than 2 cm. (symmetrical version) or 4.8 cm (asymmetrical version). 5.4 Use of the combined certification mark on reports and certificates is documentation that the certification service is conducted as an accredited service under the company s DANAK accreditation and that the certification body is accredited by an accreditation body DANAK which has signed the international agreement on mutual recognition of accredited reports and certificates (the IAF MLA agreement). 5.5 The combined certification mark may be used on services which are included in DANAK s IAF MLA agreement. 5.6 If an accredited company has entered into a written agreement with DANAK concerning use of the combined certification mark this maybe used instead of DANAK s accreditation mark when reporting accredited services, cf above or on other documents, cf above. 5.7 If the combined certification mark is used instead of DANAK s accreditation mark the provisions in above and above about the use of DANAK s accreditation mark shall apply to the use of the combined certification mark. 5.8 The IAF mark may not be used alone, and the combined certification mark may only be used of certification bodies, which have entered into a written agreement with DANAK about this.
