1 HPE Data Protector Obsolescence Document Version: 1.0 Date: June 2017 This document lists the operating system versions, hardware platforms, applications, libraries, and additional features that are no longer supported with the Data Protector 10.00, released in June If you have any queries pertaining to the unsupported platforms, please postpone the upgrade to Data Protector 10.00, and discuss your concerns with HPE Support and your account team before proceeding. 3 Application Support With Data Protector 10.00, application support is dropped only for the application/operating system combinations listed in the table below. For example, Oracle 11g remains supported on all existing operating systems, except Solaris 9 and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 10, which means customers running Oracle 11g on SUSE SLES 11 are supported in Data Protector In the following table, the cells where Operating Systems column is set as All, the application is no longer supported on any of the operating systems. Customers on VMware 5.0, 5.1, and 5.5 U1 are impacted, as GRE flex plugin is not available with Data Protector After you upgrade to VMware 5.5 U2, you can use the new angular GRE plugin. Note that for the customers who cannot upgrade from VMware 5.5 U1 to VMware 5.5 U2, Data Protector still supports all backup and recovery operations, including power-on and live migrate operations. The only impact is the unavailability of the GRE plugin. 4

19 Other Features Removed from Data Protector Data Protector Java Web Reporting The Java Web Reporting applet is removed and announced end-of-life in Data Protector Data Protector Basic and Advanced Scheduler The basic scheduler and advanced scheduler features are removed in Data Protector 10.00, and replaced by a new web-based Scheduler. All existing jobs created in basic and advanced scheduler are automatically migrated to the new web-based Scheduler during upgrade. The new web-based Scheduler is accessible using the MFC GUI and the web GUI. LiveVault / IDOL Integration support for LiveVault and IDOL is removed. Sepaton In the, the Sepaton 2100 VTL is now rebranded as the HDS HPP S Series. 19
