2 Summary 2 In its second year of operation, Technology Accreditation Canada (TAC) took a significant step forward, building strong momentum 6 programs were accredited in 2016, bringing the total to 9 53 applications were received, with 10 accreditations in progress at year end Number of trained auditors doubled Program General Learning Outcome for Technologist revised and published Visual identity created to recognize National Accredited Programs

3 Customer Satisfaction Customers recognizing quick staff response to inquiries and openness to discussing challenges relating to national standards and the accreditation process New Customer Satisfaction survey created using Survey Monkey Completed survey indicated that accreditation value, process and support met or exceeded expectations 3

4 Financial Income exceeded expenses, generating a modest net profit Fewer accreditations resulted in slightly lower accreditation fees and expenses Recruiting a new Executive Director and the addition of an Accreditation Coordinator resulted in staff salaries and contingency fund exceeding the budget Meeting, consulting and promotion costs lower than budgeted 4

5 Board of Directors Successfully concluded search for new Executive Director in May Conducted presentations to TPC Leadership Council, Canadian Medical and Biological Engineering Society, National Council of Deans of Technology Signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Canadian Society for Chemical Technology Maintained dialogue with leadership of the Canadian Council of Technicians and Technologists Recommended staggered Board members appointments for greater continuity and corporate memory 5

6 Standards Council Published revised PGLOY, after 23 person multidisciplinary committee vetted over 200 comments from stakeholders and committee members. Creation of a Standards Development Steering Committee approved to review key issues identified during PGLOY review process Endorsed invitation to Canadian Council of Technicians and Technologists, inviting the organization to join TAC in the CTAC Review Project Representative from Canadian Society for Chemical Technology appointed to the Council 6

7 Governance & Audit Council Completed eight Audit Process Second Level Reviews Recommended changes to the Second Level Review Checklist Completed second level review for revised Program General Learning Outcomes for Technologists Initial work conducted on Board/Council orientation and minor revisions to the Accreditation Audit Appeal Process Kasz Leavitt was appointed, replacing Terry Mueller 7

8 Accreditations Six programs accredited, five in Alberta and the first in British Columbia Accreditation certificate presentation at Kwantlen Polytechnic University Accreditation certificate presentation at SAIT AB BC ON SK Total Accreditations granted Self Assessment packages posted Site visits conducted Applications received

9 Accreditation Process 9 Eighty-five trained auditors in the registry, an increase of over 100% from 2015 Auditors, evaluated by peers, consistently exceeding or meeting expectations Administrators Manual and self assessment package documents revised, sample self assessment package tables and checklist created Recommended changes to program options, accreditation fees and the creation of an Accreditation Report

10 Promotion 10 Visited existing and potential customers in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario New customer presentation, webinar and customer contact schedule developed Two issues of TAC TALK published, featuring new look for December, distributed to 165 subscribers and auditor registry of 192 List of accredited programs and more detailed information and graphics about accreditation process added to website Coverage of TAC in PPA and industry electronic and print publications Bilingual National Accredited Program logo developed to recognize TAC accredited programs

11 Administration New Executive Director started beginning of July Full time Accreditation Coordinator hired Lease for office premises with Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) finalized 11
