1 Hiring Announcement for Part Time Firefighters Prairie Twp. Fire Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Part Time Firefighter. Applications may be picked up at the Prairie Twp. Fire Department, 123 Inah Ave.,, 24 hours a day, or downloaded from: NOTE: All parts of the hiring process will be conducted at the above address unless stated otherwise. Salary Range: 0-1 year $11.08, 1-2 years $11.65, 2+ years $12.17 Applications must be turned in by noon on May 26, 2017 at the address above. Your completed application packet must contain a copy of your driver s license and your Ohio Fire and EMS Certifications. If you have not yet completed or received your state fire and/or EMS certification you may apply but MUST present school transcript or letter from your course instructor or director to be considered. You must obtain and present both certifications by the interview dates or you will be removed from the process. To be considered for employment, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements: - Be a citizen of the United States of America. - Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED). - Possess a valid driver s license. - Must possess, or be eligible for, State of Ohio or National Registry certification as an EMT or Paramedic. - Must possess or be eligible for, certification as Ohio Level II Firefighter. (Must present both certifications by the interview date!) The written exam will be held at 0900 on June 3, You must successfully pass with a score of 70%. This is a general knowledge exam consisting of 50 general FF I & II questions and 50 general EMT-Basic questions. Candidates passing the written examination shall then proceed to the Physical Agility Testing which will be held on June 16 & 17, 2017 at Candidates passing the written exam, agility test and background shall then proceed to the interviews which will be held on July 12 14, 2017 with an eligibility list established on July 22,2017, Please contact Captain Rob Cloud with any questions at or rcloud@ptfdfire.com.
