3 USE CASE MULTI-USE STADIUM NetOS Enterprise includes SDN (Software-Defined Networking) technoogy that exploits Open Daylight protocols to take control of devices enabling the management and manipulation of integrated virtualised networks. Northbound open API environment allows the addition of apps by the network owner or by slice users/tenants, to enable programmability, analytics, reporting and more. Each slice owner/tenant is able to manage and control their own sub-network and its devices, with visibiity of their sub-network through a single PC screen. Slicing of the virtualised network into isolated segments, for use by the corporate owner and stadium tenants as sub-networks, whilst decoupled from the physical infrastructure.

4 CASE STUDY ASHTON GATE STADIUM, BRISTOL, ENGLAND Perhaps one of the best examples of how NetOS Enterprise software can transform an enterprise installation maximising customer experience while minimising costs is a multi-use stadium or leisure venue. Zeetta has delivered that experience for Bristol Sport at Ashton Gate Stadium, Bristol, UK. Ashton Gate Stadium, Bristol, UK. The first smart stadium of its kind. NetOS Enterprise and Ruckus have, together, helped to create a smart venue in which an agile and flexible network now delivers the quality connectivity wanted and expected by stadium users. Whether for a soccer match, a concert or a conference, the network infrastructure can now be controlled and orchestrated by NetOS Enterprise to ensure prioritised and QoS-assured service levels are available at all times, delivering the optimal user experience and providing the network owners with flexibility previously unavailable. Like many stadia, Ashton Gate not only hosts major soccer and rugby occasions; it is also South West England s premier conferences and events venue in use up to 360 days of the year. THE CHALLENGE Data demands around the stadium can vary massively on match days and during conferences and other events. In addition, network visibility was non-existent and the task of reconfiguring the network was time-consuming, costly, and largely too slow to meet changes in demand. THE SOLUTION NetOS Enterprise software was coupled with a Ruckus WiFi deployment that was able to meet all of the peaks in demand by automatically sharing the available bandwidth across several hundred Ruckus access points located around the venue, efficiently distributing the bandwidth of a dedicated fibreoptic connection to the stadium. The stadium operators now have a single PC screen view of their entire combined LAN and WiFi infrastructure, whilst food, drinks and other concessions (tenants) have private use and management rights over their own network slices. To enhance security on the site, mobile phones of stewards or security personnel can also be tracked and located, enabling them to be guided more easily when called upon to handle crowd surges and emergencies. Bristol Sport, the network infrastructre owners, are now able to rapidly adapt their environment to suit changing circumstances without requiring engineers to be deployed. During pre-match build-up, the turnstiles and concessions require more bandwidth, whilst during sports matches and concerts it is within the main arena that the greatest connectivity is needed. At half time, the concessions and the areas around them again require the most connectivity where the most fans and customers are congregating. Conferences and similar events can now be provided with bespoke, branded WiFi, thanks to a bespoke Event Booking app created to run on top of NetOS Enterprise. Zeetta s Data Suite product has also been installed at the stadium. This features advanced data collection from the network, analytics and a customisable dashboard, to facilitate billing of network tenants, service assurance and self-optimisation. The insights gained from the Data Suite s analytics can also assist Bristol Sport in identifying potential new services and revenue stream opportunities.

Monitoring Deviations between planned and actual network configurations dynamically highlight misconfigurations (connections or wirings) or malfunctions (links or devices) to aid remediation. Automation Allows definition of custom host category (such as IoT devices) with rule based automated device enrolment and association to the appropriate network. Southbound device support a framework allows extending support for additional network devices and categories (optical, ethernet and wireless) including IoT devices/controllers.
