The manual describes the troubleshooting process during setting up remote access to the Water Cloud service. Read the manual carefully before the installation, this way you will be informed about the intended use, functionality and process of operating your new device long distance. 5 Troubleshooting during connecting to the cloud Connecting the device to the local area network An external Optitronic Web Module is required for connecting the device to the cloud. The Optitronic Web Module is a device which enables communication between the device and the Water Cloud server. Optitronic Web Module If your device has no built in Optitronic Web Module, you can obtain one through the sales service KRORM Installation We recommend screwing the Optitronic Web Module to the designated spot on the scheme. Screwing the Module must be performed on the left and right side with the two supplied self-drilling screws. Screw the supplied cable for functional grounding (1) on the right side of the Web Module (2) with the screw and the supplied toothed washer to the device. The max. torque is 1 Nm Supplied cabel Fixing the supplied cable to the device 1 5 Id.:

6 2.1.2 Connection Connect to the Optitronic Web Module from left to right: the supply cable (2), the communication UTP cable (3) and the cable for functional grounding (4). 1 Optitronic Web Module Power cable Communication UTP cable Connecting the functional grounding connection o the supplied cable to the Web Module The power cable (2) is prefabricated under the plastic cover. 2 After connecting the power cable, the green LED indicator Status starts flashing. Status LED Connect the Optitronic Web Module to the router with the network cable (UTP). Web access, a free slot on the router, and a network cable (UTP) are needed for the link. A flashing green LED indicator Status indicates successful communication between the Module and device. Statuses of the LED indicator: Optitronic Web Module BLINKING: Normal operation NOT ILLUMINATED: Module error or Module does not have power. ILLUMINATED: Module error or error with the communication with the device. Id.:

7 With this error we recommend resetting the Optitronic Web Module or unplugging and re-plugging all connecting cables. If resetting the Module does not correct the error, contact KRORM technical support Connecting the Optitronic Web Module to the local network (internet) Connect the Optitronic Web Module to the router with the network cable (UTP). 8 In case the Module is connected to the network and the LED indicator (status) still flashes 30 seconds after connecting: Check whether your device is present in the local network. See chapter: Presence of the device in the local network. If the device is not found in the local network. See chapter: Check the network cable (UTP). If the device is found in the local network. See chapter: Advanced web settings. Check the network cable (UTP). 1. Check the suitability of the network cable. For good operation, a UTP5(e) or UTP6(e) cable is needed. 2. Check whether the network cable (UTP) is in accordance with T568A or T568B (wire arrangement, both cable plugs must be the same). 3. Check the operation of your web equipment (router, network switch, modem...). Use the manual for using web equipment. In case of problems, contact your network operator. For a final confirmation of the cable s operation, we recommend the use of commercially available testing device for network cables. 4. If the procedures above did not eliminate the error, contact the technical support at KRORM. Before contacting technical support, prepare the serial number of the Optitronic Web Module ( Device ID ). You can find it on the label located on the housing of your device. Id.:

9 Presence of the device in the local network With the programme KRORM Web Module Discovery you can easily check whether your device is present in your local network. To run the programme, you need a PC with a Microsoft Windows operating system. The PC must be connected to the same network as your device. 1. The programme KRORM Web Module Discovery can be found on the webpage: 2. Transfer the set-up file of the KRORM Web Module Discovery to your computer and run it. 3. The KRORM Web Module Discovery programme opens. 4. Click the button to activate the search for the device in your local network. In case a warning window of your firewall opens, confirm a safety exception. 9 Id.:

10 5. If the device is found, the message under the button reads: This means your device is connected to the network. But the network parameters of the device probably are not correctly configured. See chapter: Manual setting of network parameters Advanced web settings If your device does not connect to the cloud: 1. Check the operation of the DHCP server on your router (see chapter 3). Use the manual for using the router. 2. If the DHCP server on the router does not work or you would like to set a static IP address, a manual setting of network parameters is necessary. Manual setting of the static IP address with the help of the programme KRORM Web Module Discovery 1. Double-clicking the found Optitronic Web Module in the programme you have started opens a window with Module network settings as shown below. 2. Set all network parameters. For correct data, contact your network administrator. 3. To successfully confirm the changes it is necessary to fill in the user name and password of the administrator interface of the Optitronic Web Module in the section Authentication. Default information: User name: admin Password: admin 4. Confirm the changes with the button Apply new config. Id.:

11 5. After successfully changing the network settings a conformation window appears: New configuration applied successfully!. Press the button OK. 6. The Optitronic Web Module will restart with the new network settings. Setting the static IP address by connecting the Optitronic Web Module to the PC 1. Connect the network cable (UTP) to the connector on the PC. PC Network cable (UTP) Internet connection diagnostics In case you notice frequent loss of connection with the Cloud when using KRORM Web applications and if your device has frequent problems connecting to the network, follow the instructions below. Use the internet connection diagnostics to determine whether your internet connection meets the quality level needed for normal operation of the service Kronoterm Web. You can monitor the status of the connection in the Kronoterm Web application. 1. You can access the Water Cloud web interface on the webpage: 2. In the field User name and Password insert the info you have selected during registration. Enter the web interface by clicking the key Sign in. 11 Id.:

12 3. Open the tab Trends in the navigation row. The window Time charts opens. The charts enable an overview of the history and the comparison of the operation of all of your system s parameters. 4. Clicking the icon + on the left edge of the chart opens a new dialogue window. Among the displayed criteria, choose the following: Ethernet connection 5. By clicking the next icon + on the left side of the graph, choose the criteria: Web (internal) connection 6. The blue line of the chart represents the operation of the connection in the selected time unit (hour, day, week, month, year). The dotted line represents the connection outage. 7. Use the buttons under the chart to navigate the time criteria (hour, day, week, month, year). Id.:

13 The allowed number of connection outages Ethernet connection A quality connection means no more than three outages per week lasting a couple of seconds. In case of excessive outages, check the operation of your network equipment. A quality connection means no more than 5 outages per week lasting 5 minutes. A quality connection means no more than 5 outages per week lasting 5 minutes. In case of excessive outages, contact your network operator. In case of excessive outages of the Ethernet or Web connection, the user experience of the Water Cloud service will be limited. 13 Id.:
