FabricPath allows for multiple multidestination trees in order to achieve traffic load balancing for multidestination frames. The MTs are calculated based on the link state information calculated by FP ISIS. Each switch calculates its view of the tree independently by performing a SPF calculation on the available links and adjacency switches using one elected switch as the root of tree.
