2 60GHz is a unique new opportunity GHz and 2.16GHz channels offers unmatched capacity. 2. High oxygen attenuation and narrow beams reduces interference between links making it particularly suited for uncoordinated operation. 3. IEEE ad, or WiGig, and successor standards enable low cost semiconductors and system solutions. 4. Large spectrum footprint already exists for unlicensed indoor operation, enabling a global market for short range communications. 5. Small device footprint and self-aligning, self-install capability makes 60GHz attractive for fixed wireless access and backhaul. 2
