3 1.0 Requirements R4.1 Software LIPU Card - Latest firmware LIPX45+ Configure SIP Extensions on Strata CIX SIP WirelessIP5000/ UTStarcom F1000 G- latest firmware Wireless Access point- Linksys WAP54G 2.0 LIPU Card Configuration 2.1 Assign LIPU card in emanager Go into >Advanced Configuration> System > Card Assignment From the list select the LIPU-X/LIPS -32 IP station card to appropriate slot in the cabinet. 2.2 Assign SIP Extensions Go into >Advanced Configurations > Station > Assignments Clicking the Create button a dialog box will appear as shown. Once the PDN has been selected, the following screen will be displayed. Select a PDN extension Number for the SIP extension and select the PRG 260 radio button PRG260 FB02 is the screen required to configure the LIPU card, in this example LIPU is in slot 1, therefore The FB01 Type is the type of extension, SIP must be selected. 04/08/2006 Page 3 of 11 SIP Configuration

4 Finally click the submit button, the SIP extension is now set up. 2.3 LIPU Setup Go into > Advanced Configuration > IPTelephony> LIPU Configuration Here the LIPU address can be assigned and there will be a LIPU card already assigned from previous stage, select the location found on the top right of the screen, for example 0101 as shown below. 3.3 Security The security for the SIP phones and the WiFi network comes in form of a WEP encryption key. Setup and use of WEP can be configured through access point.

In wireless tab>wireless security, select appropriate security mode from drop down menu, it the example WEP is being implemented. Set the encryption to 64 or 128, generate a key using Passpharse, this will generate a set of keys. These keys will need to be used by all other wireless nodes, for example Hitachi Cable Ltd WirelessIP5000 SIP and UTStarcom F1000G. The same type of security will need to be configured on all other access points within the network. 3.4 Alternative Tested Access points These wireless access points are readily available in the market and are aimed primarily at a larger wireless LAN infrastructure to support both vice and data services Cisco Aironet 1200 The Cisco Aironet 1200 has been designed specifically for challenging environments like factories, warehouses and large retail establishments that require the antenna versatility. The network topology can be configured similarly to that of the Linksys WAP54G. The 1200 Series supports i, Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2), WPA, and numerous Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) types. Alternatively the Hitachi WIP5000 handset can be configured through a browser based service as shown below. To access the browser page, a valid IP address and port number must be specified, for example :8080 for the WirelessIP5000. 10 4.12 DTMF Settings for Voic On the browser page for the Hitachi WirelessIP5000, ensure the following settings are applied to the terminal in order to access the voic in the system using DTMF.
