1 Datasheet V30R203 Fengine S4800 Series Gigabit Switches P RODUCT O VERVIEW Fengine S4800 series gigabit switches (S4800) are leading Layer 2 intelligent manageable fixed-port devices developed by FiberHome for service providers and enterprise networks to meet the demands of high-bandwidth access and Ethernet multi-service aggregation. The S4800 provides a large switching capacity and high density GE ports. It can be deployed in various scenarios, such as access layer in enterprise networks which require Gigabit port to the desktop, as well as distribution layer in MANs. Combining the 10/100/1000 and Power over Ethernet (PoE), Fengine S4800 enhances end user s connection convenience by enabling applications such as IP telephony, wireless and video. With improved operational excellence, highly secure business operations, improved sustainability and an enhanced quality of experience, the S4800 helps customers build networks with lower OPEX & CAPEX. 3 PRODUCT FEATURES & BENEFITS Gigabit Ethernet With more and more applications demanding higher bandwidth, both enterprise and residential customers want access speed greater than 100 Mbps, to address this high-bandwidth access demand, the S4800 offers wire-speed 24 Gigabit Ethernet electrical ports and 4 GE optical ports. The S4800 is able to identify and process traffic flows from L2-L4.With independent packet filters, all ports can distinguish different flows and forward them with corresponding priority. High Reliability The S4800 provides enhanced Ethernet reliability technologies such as STP/RSTP/MSTP, as well as R-link at millisecond-level protection switchover to ensure link-level reliability. The S4800 supports link-aggregation to provide a simple and cost efficient way to expand the bandwidth and load-balancing among the ports for enhancing connection reliability. S4800 PoE model supports 1+1 redundant hot swappable power supply for equipment level reliability. Superior Quality of Service The S4800 offers Gigabit Ethernet with intelligent services that keep everything flowing smoothly with mechanisms for marking, classification, and scheduling. It supports traffic classification based on abundant criteria such as MAC/IP address, Layer 4 TCP/UDP port number, protocol, port and VLAN. Each port supports 8 priority queues with multiple queue scheduling algorithms such as SP/PQ, WRR, SP/PQ+WRR to ensure the highest-priority packets are processed ahead of all other traffic. attack. Easy Management & Maintenance The S4800 supports Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) v1/v2/v3. It facilitates equipment management by flexible methods, such as CLI, Telnet and a user-friendly GUI W-view platform. For enhanced traffic management, monitoring and analysis, the embedded Remote Monitoring (RMON) software agent supports four RMON groups (history, statistics, alarms and events) RSPAN allows administrators to remotely monitor ports in a Layer 2 switch network from any other switch in the same network Loopback detection tests end-to-end traffic condition in the network. Advanced Security The S4800 offers a comprehensive security solution by providing service security in three aspects: subscriber, switch and network. Subscriber security helps create protections among customers with multiple features. DHCP Snooping, ARP Inspection, and IP Source Guard help to identify each customer based on MAC, IP address and port information to help prevent malicious
