2 1.0 Login Account Types At AECOM there are two Active Directory ADs that manage users in ProjectWise. AECOM - The first AD manages AECOM user accounts. When a user is added to this AD they use their native AECOM login. This enables users to auto sign-in when the user is already logged into their computer. AECOMONLINE This AD manages external user accounts and legacy company accounts who are in transition. This AD requires the user to use their login and password every time they access ProjectWise. This AD also has a higher level of managed security and monitoring. All users will need an individual user account to access ProjectWise. Users are not allowed to share accounts. The process of adding users to either of the ADs is different. See the PA Guide, section Add new users to ProjectWise. 2.0 Datasources To login to ProjectWise you will need to open the ProjectWise Explorer application, then select a datasource to login. A Datasource is where ProjectWise saves data to and retrieves data from. The Datasource you are logged into is indicated by the are indicated by the icon. icon. 3 3.0 ProjectWise Explorer Login In ProjectWise Explorer click on the datasource your project is located in. If you have an AECOM account you should be able to double click the datasource and it will log you in. If you have an AECOMONLINE account or are not logged into the computer with your AECOM credentials, you will need to right click and select Login. This will display the ProjectWise Explorer Log in Dialog. Make sure the correct Datasource has been selected from the pull down list. Enter your AECOM User Name in the format; domain\username which is the same as your network login name. Your password will be the same as your network Page 3

4 Once the Datasource is open, click on Documents and you should see a list of Projects that you have access to. Projects are indicated by the icon. Working Directory The first time you log into a Datasource ProjectWise will ask you to create a working directory: Always answer YES. These are hidden dms folders on your local workstation that ProjectWise uses to store database content. The content in these directories should NEVER be modified or changed as this can corrupt data. 4.0 Integrated Software Login For integrated software applications outside of ProjectWise, you will have to login to ProjectWise if you want to use any of the files in a ProjectWise Datasource. Shown to the right is the login dialog from an integrated application. Notice the MS Word icon in the top left corner of the dialog. The Datasource field indicates where ProjectWise will go to get and stored data. If you want to work on files that are not in a ProjectWise Datasource click on the cancel button to access files from a different location. Using Single Sign on with Applications Page 4

5 You can set ProjectWise to automatically use Single Sign-on by placing a check mark in the Use Windows Single Sign-On for authentication check box which will eliminate the need to enter your user credentials. However you will still be able to select which Datasource to log into. Notice that the User Name and Password fields are grayed out. Be sure to enter this information before placing the check mark.
