2 Unified Mobility Comprises a few subsets of capabilities: Mobile Connect (a.k.a. Single Number Reach) Mobile Voice Access (a.k.a. Direct Inward System Access or DISA) Enterprise Feature Access (essentially the exact same as MVA but without the IVR) Mid-Call Features (a.k.a. Supplementary Services such as Hold, Resume, Exclusive Hold, Transfer, Conference)

Desk Phone Pickup: Mobile user can pickup in-progress remote phone call at desk phone Desk Phone Pickup Phone A Mobile Connect Call Answered and in Progress at 1 3 Call Continues Uninterrupted Between Caller and Desk Phone Gateway Enterprise Upon Hang Up (or Mid-Call Hold) User Can Pickup at Desk Phone by Pressing the Resume Softkey DN:
6 Dials: Mobile Voice Access RD Seen, Enters PIN#, and Navigates Menus via Keypad; Enters 1 to Make Call and then Enters H.323 VXML Gateway Unified CM Sends IVR Prompts to VXML H.323 Gateway and Gateway Collects and Forwards User Input 3 Enterprise Cisco Unified CM Cluster Mobility user can use communications infrastructure to make Enterprise calls from their remote destination phone 6 Call Rings Number Mobile Voice Access DID: Call to Number Routed via TP to appropriate GW 5 Call Originated via User s Profile Profile DN: 1002 DN: 1002 Shared Line 4 Call made to Enterprise Mobile Voice Access number User follows IVR prompts and enters information to make call User can also disable and enable Mobile Connect on a per remote destination basis

8 Mobility Mid-Call Features In-Progress MobileConnect Call Between & Phone Phone Invokes Mid-Call Features by Sending DTMF Digits to Unified CM 1 2 Gateway Cisco Unified CM Cluster Enterprise 4 In-Progress Call Can be Transferred to Another Phone or Additional Phones Can be Conferenced in DN: : Party MoH Is Forwarded from Unified CM to Phone A When Mid-Call Hold, Transfer, and Conference features Are Invoked Once a Mobile Connect or Mobile Voice Access call is in-progress at mobile user s phone: Profile DN: 1002 DN: 1002 Shared Line Mid-call features like Hold, Transfer, and Conference can be invoked via Smart Phone softkeys or manual key presses DTMF tones are sent from the phone to the Unified CM via the Enterprise gateway

11 With Device Mobility call uses Roaming gateway Location CAC is aware of the call WAN bandwidth is not consumed Proper Media Resources are selected AAR outgoing calls would be sourced on the new site s GW; incoming calls will fail (as they should) WAN Dials CorpHQ, Seattle, WA, U.S. Branch 1, Austin, TX, U.S.
12 Device Mobility Determines that the device has moved to new location based on the device s IP subnet Dynamically associates roaming device pool to devices that move to a different location Determination to extend certain features are based on the following parameters: Is the device roaming outside of it s Physical Location? If NO, then NO updates to the IP Phone s settings are updated If YES, then is it roaming within it s Device Mobility Group? If YES, then ALL parameters of visited Device Pool get passed to IP Phone If NO, then SOME of the parameters of visited Device Pool get passed to IP Phone See next slide for breakdown
