2 Isolated Multi-Function Data Acquisition Board ADQ-300 Series Isolated multi-function board up to 32 analog inputs, 4 analog outputs, 32 digital I/Os, counter Ideal for universal use in industry and laboratory. The new ALLDAQ CompactPCI multi I/O boards of the ADQ-300 series are ideal for fail-safe measurements in industrial environments due to their optional isolation. Common to all models is the simultaneous 18 bit analog input section with 16 or 32 differential input channels, sampling between 200 ks/s and 800 ks/s depending on the number of channels used. The input ranges of ±10.24 V, ±5.12 V, V, V offer the best accuracy. The 16 bit analog output section with up to 4 channels can output values singularly or timer-controlled with up to 500 ks/s per channel. Beside the standard sine, rectangular, triangular and ramp signals it is also possible to generate arbitrary waveforms e. g. for hardware in the loop (HiL) applications. Of the 32 digital I/Os on the ADQ-340 models, one 8 bit port each is available as an isolated input or output port. The ADQ-SCU signal conditioning unit was developed to optimally adapt a large number of analog and digital inputs/outputs to the requirements of a complex, automated test system. The relay controlled change-over between both shunts (10 Ω / 5 mω) is handled by the application without interrupting the circuit of the device under test. A hardware comparator automatically switches to the 50 A range as soon as the 25 ma range is exceeded by more than 12.5%. This protection mechanism works independently from the operating system and application software. An appropriate interrupt event is generated and can be interpreted by the application. 9 Multi I/O Data Acquisition Boards Differential inputs Block diagram Ideally a differential input measures only the potential difference between the positive and negative input. Common mode errors are suppressed effectively. This is particularly advantageous to acquire signals without common ground reference, to avoid ground loops and noisy environments in general. Regarding the absolute value of the potential difference between the negative and positive input of a channel it may be 20 V max. on the ADQ-212 and 50 V max. on the ADQ-215. Ideal for highspeed data-logging and audio signal analysis The measurement boards of the ALLDAQ ADQ-250 series are CompactPCI or PCI-Express boards for high-precision and fast voltage measurements in industry and laboratory environments. Through the isolated voltage inputs and with full differential sampling parasitic effects like ground loops and common mode errors can be largely rejected. The input voltage range covers ±10.24 V for measuring the full ±10 V range. An input voltage range of ±102.4 V is optional. Due to the high A/D converter resolution of 16 or 18 bit (depending on model) a very high accuracy is achieved without the need of switching between several measurement ranges. The 8 analog channels are electrically isolated up to 700 V RMS between each other and towards PC ground. A connection as reference between battery ground and PC ground is made. For example if you are measuring the "upper battery" cells you must remember, that the relatively high voltage potential U B should not exceed U ISO. Independently of this the measurement voltage U M should not exceed the specified range of ±10.24 V (standard) resp. ±102.4 V (E versions). 21 The ALLDAQ Driver Architecture ALLDAQ driver system installation The ALLDAQ driver system is installed with a comfortable installation routine ( optionally as 32 bit or 64 bit package). Device drivers, programs, SDK files, help files, documents and, if necessary, other software components are installed. The "Advanced" option allows you to select individual installation components e. g. Virtual Instruments (VIs) for an existing LabVIEW installation. You can reinstall or uninstall individual components at any time from the System Control Panel. The ALLDAQ Launcher automatically starts as soon as the installation is complete. You can conveniently access the ALLDAQ Manager, the software developer kit (SDK), software tools, help files and manuals with the right mouse button via the so-called system tray icon - usually in the lower right corner of the screen. ALLDAQ driver architecture The ALLDAQ driver system consists of several kernel mode device drivers and an user mode DLL, which provides the application programming interface (API). The API is exported from a common library for the different Windows platforms (32/64 bit). During installation, the libraries are copied to the respective Windows system directory. A so-called "board" represents a hardware device installed in your computer and connected via PCI (Express) bus.
