2 G801 G801 is a digital and interconnection module for managing of monitoring systems. It is equipped with: - digital inputs - analog inputs - voltage outputs - alarms - 2 RS485 ports - 2 RS232 ports - 1 radio Interface - 1 ethernet ports - 1 slot for SD card - 1 USB memory card connector - Graphic display and 12 buttons keypad What s The G801 characteristics allow to connect and manage different types of devices like multiplexers or custom measurement systems. The multiplexers GMUX acquire the electrical signals of the transducers and send them to the management module G801 via RS485 or radio. Powering the system with the 12V battery (due to its low absorption technology) G801 module guarantees an average life of at least 1 year in the Ultra Low Power configuration and allows to eliminate 220Vac network disturbances. In order to simplify the operator s work during the system installation and for better system s control it is possible to interrogate manually every single instrument from the G801 module, visualizing the final data directly on display. ConneCtions It is possible to access to all functions by connecting G801 via Ethernet from the local network or remotely via Internet. The graphical user interface allows you to read data easily from the G801 with all browsers and on tablets, smartphones or smart TV. You can change any function locally or remotely from the keyboard. The configurations and operating parameters should be saved on SD card. It allows the rapid replacement of hardware components, system backup and restore. You can also create a backup copy on a USB memory stick. Therefore, for the data recovery you will just need to remove the USB or SD card from their slots, insert them in an SD card reader or USB port on your computer and save the file in.csv or.xls formats. The G801 can be provided with a GPRS/UMTS router, which will make possible the total module s remote control, configuration and data logging by means of any PC, tablet, smartphone, etc.. It can also be configured as an FTP client to download the data automatically to an FTP server. 2

3 PeriPherals GMUX GMUX is an acquisition module for analog and vibrating wire instrumentation. It is created as a device for GEI s readout logger unit G801 with which it communicates digitally via RS485 or radio. GMUX reads various types of signal, according to the standards 4/20mA, mv/v, V, Pt100, NTC and vibrating wire instrumentation. During the data acquisition on one of G801 input digital channels, GMUX provides the correct power supply to the analog channel requested and performs the acquisition of the electrical data at the predetermined period. The information returns to the G801 module that has requested it, always on the same digital channel. One or more GMUX can be connected on the same digital channel, for this reason every device should have its own unique code. The product s power supply can be realized in different ways, depending on the monitoring system s configuration and on the type of digital channel, used for communication with the other system s devices. In cases where devices are connected together via the cable (RS485), the maximum distance between the two farthest modules directly depends on cable cross-section, but it is possible to supply the GMUX module directly, using the bus cable. Therefore, one or more G801 module, used in your monitoring system, manages the power supply of every device in this system. In case the signal cables are particularly long or when the radio connection is used, the GMUX must be equipped with a local battery power supply. According to the system s configuration parameters or technical requirements, considering the very low consumption of GMUX, you can use only a battery power supply, or, for more complicated systems, 110/220Vac or photovoltaic panels can be considered. GMUX is available in four versions, from 4 up to 16 channels through (also 8 and 12 channels). Each channel is characterized by a four poles terminal block which is used to supply power to the transducer connected to it and to receive analog signals. The function of 4 poles terminal block depends on the type of the instrument connected. MUMS MUMS (Modular Underground Monitoring System) is a system consisting of tilt link inclinometer triaxial nodes, designed for the landslides displacement monitoring or bulkheads survey, alternative to those currently in use. It is advantageous in terms of performance, durability and costs. The received data is processed by a specially developed software in order to get a full 3D image of the entire borehole. The MUMS system provides the serial connection of other types of nodes, such as: piezometers, HD thermometers, strain gauges and barometers. MUMS can be also used for the monitoring of the deformation of different structures (poles, diaphragms, etc.). 3

4 It is possible to install the system in the boreholes of small diameter (min. 80mm). It does not need any inclinometer casing or special coatings and can also be installed in inclinometer out-of-use boreholes. Every G801 module is able to manage two MUMS, consisting of maximum 254 TILTLINKs but it can be completed with the DMUX devices: in this case the monitoring systems increases exponentially. optional GPRS / UMTS router The G801 can be provided with a GPRS/UMTS router, which will make possible the total module s remote control, configuration and data logging by means of any PC, tablet, smartphone, etc.. It can also be configured as an FTP client to download the data automatically to an FTP server. RADIO NETWORK The G801 and all its devices may be supplemented by a radio module which automatically creates a network of interconnected devices in order to improve nication and commu- consumption. The network is IP compatible and is based on 6LoW- PAN e standards. The G801 system achieves excellent reliability and a low energy consumption - eight times less than usual systems due to the dynamic configuration change, depending on the Radio Frequency environments in which it is located. 4
