14 Barrier Accessories Photocells The photocells basically consists of two components transmitter and receiver, the two components needs to be installed exactly in parallel to each other. These can be used for protection against the accidents that may occur because of the vehicle coming in the way of the barrier. Ground Loop Detector GLD detector needs to be installed atleast 3-4 m away from the barrier. The detector basically works on some magnetic field and needs to be buried under the ground. The detector can be used for both the applications either Opening or Closing of the barrier.

15 Barrier Accessories Remote Keyfobs & Proximity Cards These can be used for the opening of the barriers by just pressing a button on the Remote or showing the Card to the Proximity Reader. Auto Opening of the barrier Installing a pair of Photocells on the Drive-way can be used for the automatic opening of the barrier.

16 Classification of Barriers To get the right operator, it should be known where the operator needs to be installed, depending upon it the operators may be classified as: Operators for Residential Use A residential complex where upto five families resides. (Upto 20 cycles per day). Operators for an apartment building A building or complex where about families resides. (Upto 80 cycles per day). Operators for Intensive Use Parking Spaces, hospitals, commercial centres or a building with around 100 families.(200 cycles per day) Operators for Continuous Use Highways, Airports, Railway Stations etc.
