2 FORD TAURUS 00 Rev.: 000 CANMAX00DEI-LINCOLN Bootloading If using a Remote/Alarm system with Rev 8B and below, please go to Option B. Option A: XKLOADER Cut the lip Remove cover from the module and cut the lip to allow docking of the CANMAX00DEI. First, you have to dock the CANMAX00DEI into the module. Connect USB cable to the XKLoader and plug USB to any available USB port on your PC. Then connect the XKDD5 wire into the module in which you docked the CANMAX00DEI, and connect the XKDD5 to XKLoader. Rev 8C and above PIN DD PIN DD PART# XKDD5 Jumper position Jumper Before powering the system, make sure a jumper is placed on the two lower pins and no jumper is placed on the upper pins of the module. XKLOADER USB Connector USB Port Installation Procedure Overview Please Note: Failure to proceed in the following order could result in possible vehicle damage. If your module has DD Jumpers, make sure both Jumpers are in the horizontal position. Caution! Wiring Make all connections as per wiring schematics. Connect 0 pin to module Connect the 0 pin harness to the CANMAX00DEI. The 0 pin connector can be easily plugged in backwards. Option B: XKLINT XKLINT Connect the 7 pin from the harness into connector of the CANMAX00DEI. CANMAX00DEI XKLINT Black Ground XKLoader USB Connector Red v Connection to XKLoader Connect USB cable to the XKLoader and plug USB to any available USB port on your PC. Next connect the wire adaptor cable into the XKLoader, connect the 7 pin connector under the CANMAX00DEI and finally connect Red wire to a v power source and Black wire to a ground source. USB Port Jumpers settings Operating Position Flashing Position XKLINT PIN DD Default jumper setting on module and operating mode for CANMAX00DEI. Setting for flashing the CANMAX00DEI when docked into the module. CANMAX00DEI 5 Module Cut the lip Remove cover from the module and cut the lip to allow docking of the CANMAX00DEI. REMOVE + V BATTERY CR0 Remove the backup key from the transmitter. Part Location Twist a thin coin in the slot hidden behind the backup key slot to remove the battery cover. + V CR0 Backup transceiver located on center consol. Connect the relay as shown. Backup transceiver 5 or loops on backup transceiver are required. *Relay 87 87a Connect to Black/White from 0-pin of CANMAX00DEI Factory keyfob (+) v or loops around factory keyfob are required. 5 FORD TAURUS 00 CANMAX00DEI-LINCOLN Rev.: 000 Page Please Note: When a CANMAX00DEI is used in DD with either Viper, Clifford or Python, the jumpers on the remote starter MUST be placed in the Horizontal position. Module Programming 5 Connect the 0-pin harness. Caution! The 0 pin connector can be easily plugged in backwards. Remove cover from the module and cut the lip to allow docking of the CANMAX00DEI. Dock the CANMAX00DEI into the module. When all connections are correctly done, the red LED will turn ON. Make sure the key is in the vehicle. While pressing the brake pedal, press once on the push-to-start button to start the vehicle normaly. Jumper position The green LED turns ON for seconds and shuts off. The module is now programmed, you can shut off the vehicle. sec. ENGINE START STOP PUSH Features Programming Integrated Programming To enter feature programming routine Button (IPB) - Turn the ignition ON, then OFF. - Within 5 sec, press and HOLD the integrated programming button (IPB). The orange LED turns ON after seconds. Release the IPB. - The green LED starts flashing slowly one time to indicate the feature number is. After a short delay, the red LED flashes rapidly one time to indicate the current option of feature. It repeats until next action happens. Accessing another feature - Press and release the IPB a number of times to advance from the current feature to the next desired feature. - The green LED flashes slowly the number of times equal to the feature number. After a short delay, the red LED flashes rapidly one time to indicate the current option of the current feature. It repeats until next action happens. Changing feature options - Press the arm or disarm button on aftermarket transmitter to change the option of the selected feature. - The red LED flashes rapidly the number of times equal to the current option number. After a short delay, the green LED flashes slowly the number of times to indicate the current feature. It repeats until next action happens. When the maximum number of feature or option is reached, the will LED starts flashing again from the first feature or option. Once a feature is programmed - Another feature(s) can be programmed. - The feature programming can be exited. Exiting feature programming - No activity for 0 seconds; after 0 seconds, the orange LED will turn ON for seconds to confirm exiting. OR - Press and HOLD the IPB for seconds. After seconds, the orange LED will turn ON for seconds to confirm exiting. ( DIRECTED ) promises to the original purchaser, to repair or replace with a comparable reconditioned piece, the security or remote start accessory piece (hereinafter the Part ), which proves to be defective in workmanship or material under normal use, provided the following conditions are met: the Part was purchased from an authorized DIRECTED dealer; and the Part is returned to DIRECTED, postage prepaid, along with a clear, legible copy of the receipt or bill of sale bearing the following information: consumer s name, address, telephone number, the authorized licensed dealer s name and complete product and Part description.
