System I Manual DTM Testing Machine Simple operation Choice of three standard daylight openings. Custom openings by factory quote. Mechanical or electronic instrumentation Manually operated DTMs are simple to use and very economical. Mount the manually operated DTM Testing Machine on a bench or order it with a convenient floor stand. All DTM Testing Machines apply load by movement of the crosshead using a heavy-duty worm and gear. The manually operated DTM includes a front-mounted wheel for raising and lowering the crosshead. Depending on the dimensions of the materials to be tested, you may select from three available maximum daylight openings: 28.5", 38.5" and 48.5". Daylight opening does not include any grips or fixtures. Manual DTMs use either mechanical or electronic instrumentation. Mechanical Tester Dynamometers that mount on the head of the DTM Testing Machine are available in capacities from 500 to 10,000 lb with equivalent kilogram versions. Electronic load cells for the manual DTM send a signal to either an FI-127 or an FI-90 Force Indicator. Load cell capacities from 25 to 12,000 lb are available with the manual DTM. Mechanical or electronic instrumentation E-Drawer - exchangeable electronics System II DTM Testing Machines introduce motorization to the DTM series. Motorization cuts testing time and is especially useful in repetitive test situations or when government and ASTM testing requirements specify a motorized unit. The motor driven unit uses a quiet-running, synchronous belt drive with meshing teeth on both belt and pulleys. Simple exchange of pulleys produces high and low range crosshead speeds. Motor driven testing machines are available with low, medium or high speed gear ratios to suit your load and speed requirements. The E-Drawer adds flexibility With the System II level of DTM Testing Machines, Dillon builds in a feature that adds immeasurably to the flexibility of your DTM purchase. The easily accessible E-Drawer contains all major electronic components and circuitry for the DTM testing machine. Wire test: DTM System II with 2,000 lb loadcell, FI-127 and wire grips. The E-Drawer gives easy access to the DTM's electronics. But the major benefit to the E-Drawer is that it removes major cost from later upgrades to your testing system. When it is time to expand your testing system, to add more automation, PC interface, SPC functions, etc., you won t have to start over with a new testing machine. A quick change of the E-Drawer will allow you to add whatever features you need for expanded service from your DTM. 3 System II instrumentation and controls A System II motorized DTM Testing Machine can be set up to run with either mechanical or electronic instrumentation. It has a motor control toggle switch located on the front of the testing machine. A simple flip of the switch moves the crosshead up or down. A potentiometer controls speed. Fit the System II DTM Testing Machine with a mechanical Tester Dynamometer in capacities from 500 to 10,000 lb or with an electronic load cell (25- to 12,000-lb capacities) and an FI-90 or FI-127 Force Indicator. The FI-90 Indicator is front panel configurable. It features switch-selectable gross or peak hold modes and RS-232/20mA output. A touch of its units key lets users choose pound, kilogram or newton readout. Analog output is available as an option to link data collection devices and other peripherals to your testing system. A second choice of instrumentation, the FI-127, is the more sophisticated of the two instruments. It can store configuration data for up to six load cells, allowing a testing system to switch rapidly from job to job by easily changing from one loadcell to another. The FI-127 displays the full range of test values. It will display Peak Capture or a First Peak value. The instrument can take a series of readings and display Average Force Over Time, or it can display Over, Under and Accept load values.

The instrument can feed accumulated information to a built-in data base with capacity to store test values for up to 204 consecutive tests for print or later download. The Wizard Force Indicator serves as control center for the system. The Wizard includes peak hold, choice of analog outputs, and selectable baud rates. The Wizard Force Indicator is housed in a stainless steel enclosure. It has front panel setup and calibration, peak hold, programmable print format and output parameters, cutoff card and RS-232. Auto-Test mode speeds testing If fast repetitions of a test are what you require, VeriTest offers an autotest mode that requires only two key strokes. Clicking on the Start Test button on the screen will start the testing machine and automatically zero the force, extension and crosshead deflection readings. It will switch the program to the VeriTest graphics screen. As the test begins, the screen will plot a real time graph of Stress vs. Strain. 6 Replaces costly peripheral equipment One glance at the VeriTest main screen gives you a clear indication of the scope of the VeriTest computer linked Testing Machine. VeriTest lets the computer control testing machine functions, ending the need for most peripheral equipment. The PC Serves as a sophisticated multifunction instrument. The system's Help function is instantly available to define testing terms and explain machine functions. The 25% strain instrument has a.5-inch range; the 50% strain instrument has a 1-inch range; the 100% strain extensometer has a 2-inch range. All three include an interface cable. Statistical Process Control All material analysis data feeds the SPC software which is included in every VeriTest system. The integral SPC kernel processes test data and formulates charts for XBar/Range, XBar/Sigma and a Histogram.
