It is an ongoing process that we first encounter in childhood as we learn step by step how to function in the world around us. 6 Learn4Life with ETA.2 System overview The ETA System deals with topics related to automation technology. Each system can handle a wide range of applications. There are two kinds of ETA Systems: ETA System : Standalone ETA System : Extension.2. ETA System : Standalone A standalone ETA System contains one controller. It is a closed system, ready for operation and with no other components required. These systems are best combined with a standalone ETA System to expand functionality. 9 Learn4Life with ETA Combination Options Standalone ETA Systems are each equipped with a controller. Each unit is a closed system and is suited for standalone operation. Any standalone system can be combined with another. Extension ETA Systems are not equipped with a controller. These systems can be used in combination with a corresponding standalone unit. This is the interface to the programming and diagnostics environment. POWERLINK (shown here in orange) is used for communication between the ETA Systems. 0
11 overview 2 MODEL NUMBER OVERVIEW Complete set A "complete set" consists of the electromechanical parts for the respective ETA System and the corresponding recommended B&R components. Complete set = electromechanical parts + B&R components "Electromechanical parts" include the basic mechanical structure and the respective cable trees + connectors. The B&R components are not included in the "electromechanical parts". The recommended B&R components must be ordered separately from the "electromechanical parts" depending on the ETA System. 13 Open and closed loop control 3 OPEN AND CLOSED LOOP CONTROL Control technology covers several specific areas. They include control system configurations, commissioning and diagnostics. Actual software development, creating libraries, integrating closed loop control, networking various components on the automated system and storing data can also be added to this list. 3. ETA : Open and closed loop control This ETA-system is controlled by an X20 CPU. With the local and decentralized I/O efficient possibilities of use are supported. The communication to the digital and analog modules is done by X2X-link or POWERLINK. The simple integration of modules on X2X-link is shown by the usage of the illuminated key rings. The integrated simulation panel provides a temperature control system. Thus, heating and cooling processes are shown realistically. Topology Different functions are supported with this ETA-system Supported by the integrated simulation panel there is the possibility to implement a closed loop control for a temperature control system. Both can be accessed from both the local X2X bus, as well as on the POWERLINK bus. The built-in illuminated ring keys show how an ergonomic keypad with multi-color LEDs should look like, and how easily it can be integrated into the control system. 16 Open and closed loop control 3.2 ETA : Open and closed loop control with visualization This ETA System contains two different controllers. One X20 CPU with multiple I/O modules. And one Power Panel 500, which can also be used as a controller. The Power Panel 500 enables you to integrate a visualization application. CPU-to-CPU communication can be established between the X20 CPU and Power Panel 500. The system contains a B&R illuminated ring keypad and a simulation panel, he simulation panel has multiple digital and analog I/Os. A temperature control system is integrated too. 17 Open and closed loop control 3.2. Topology The X20 CPU serves as controller. It contains I/O modules connected directly to the CPU. The modules communicate via the X2X bus system on the backplane. An X2X bus cable is used to connect a digital mixed module with illuminated ring keys. The POWERLINK port on the CPU is used for a POWERLINK bus coupler. The I/O modules are hooked up to a simulation panel. An Ethernet HUB provides the Ethernet connection between the X20 CPU and the Power Panel 500. 19 Motion control 4 MOTION CONTROL Motion control in general represents an important part of a machine. Processes ranging from simple movements to axis links used in drive applications. Frequently, various drive types are combined. This includes stepper, induction and synchronous motors as well as hydraulic drives. 4. ETA : Drive technology with ACOPOS Supported by this ETA system single-axis and multi-axis are possible. Both ACOPOS each controlling a synchronous motors. To represent real movements, a Tooth gear and a cam plate is mounted. This allows a representation of various axis couplings. Another benefit of this design is the hardware limit represents. The hardware limit switch has two contacts. One of them is directly connected to the trigger input of a ACOPOS. The other is evaluated with the aid of a digital input module. 33 Integrated safety technology 5 INTEGRATED SAFETY TECHNOLOGY Machines always have potential dangers. These risks can usually be reduced through structural measures. However, there is always a remaining risk that must be recognized and assessed. Safety applications evaluate safety-relevant characteristics and enable the corresponding actuators. Integrated safety technology and safe drive functions meet the safety guidelines required by the machine manufacturing industry while still being able to offer a high level of flexibility. 5. ETA : Integrated safety technology In addition to the X20 controller, this ETA system also contains a SafeLOGIC safety controller. Data is exchanged between the two controllers using the certified protocol "opensafety". The underlying bus system is POWERLINK. The SafeMC function provides a wide range of safe drive functions such as SafeLimitedSpeed (SLS), etc. The system also contains a two-channel hardware limit switch for some functions that require "safe referencing". 40 Process control 6 PROCESS CONTROL Process control systems are mostly used in larger plants. They take care of open and closed loop control tasks and are linked with sensors and actuators. The control and visualization stations serve here as human machine interfaces. Bus systems are used to link these control and visualization stations with plant floor components. 6. ETA : Plant automation This ETA System contains a combination of two X20 controllers, whereby one of them is equipped with different inputs and outputs via POWERLINK. The two controllers communicate with a higher-level system (an APROL server by default) via the Ethernet HUB. A simulation panel is connected with the X20 I/O modules to display the input and output values. 41 Process control 6.. Topology The two X20 CPUs work as controllers and communicate via the Ethernet HUB. The X20 CPU (2) is connected with remote I/O modules via the POWERLINK bus coupler.
