Dual axis measurement: LASER Series 2000 XY With the LASER Series 2000 XY SIKORA offers gauge heads for a precise diameter measurement in 2 planes. The diameter is calculated by diffraction analysis directly from the shadow image. 3 Even more precise diameter measurement with the LASER Series 6000 The LASER Series 6000 opens up a new age of precision diameter measurement. The LASER-devices expand SIKORA s current range of online diameter gauges by 3 powerful models. They unify industrial design with the highest precision and reliability and are advancing with regard to handling, safety and flexibility. The LASER Series 6000 includes a variety of technological innovations, which improve the productivity of production lines sustainably. 2,500 measurements per second, each of them with extremely high single value precision, allow for an optimum line control and provide reliable statistical data. Thanks to future-oriented technology the product diameter is measured with the highest accuracy. 4 X-RAY 6020 MED for quality control of tiny tubes The X-ray measuring system X-RAY 6020 MED is specifically suitable for the online inner and outer diameter, wall thickness and concentricity measurement of very small tubes with a diameter from 0.65 to 15 mm and a wall thickness of 0.1 to 5 mm. A special model of the X-RAY 6020 MED is available for offline catheter inspection, focussing on the detection of gels. In combination with the powerful display and control device ECOCONTROL 6000 the measuring system provides information for the optimum control of the production line in automatic mode. The ECOCONTROL 6000 is an extremely powerful display and control processor system, which clearly brings the measuring values of the X-RAY 6000 into focus. The measuring values are displayed numerically as well as graphically on a 19 or 15 TFT monitor. A clear line presentation with pictograms of the connected devices provides additional information. Moreover, it contains a time or length-related trend diagram for the measured dimensions and a display of the statistical distribution curve of the measurements with the minimum, maximum and mean value, standard deviation, Cp and Cpk. Data storage is optionally available. The operation is menu-driven via touch-screen, designed for an intuitive use. 5 CENTRIX 8025 XY with eccentricity and diameter measurement of transparent products The CENTRIX 8025 XY is an outstanding online gauge head for quality control of medical tubes. With a measuring rate of 5,000 Hz the device measures the eccentricty as well as the diameter of transparent tubes. It is suitable for tubes with a diameter from 0.25 to 25 mm and a minimum wall thickness of 0.2 mm. The gauge head is based on an optical measuring principle with LEDs as light sources in combination with CMOSline sensors. There are no moving parts integrated ensuring an outstanding long-term quality. CENTRIX 8025 XY has vertical arranged glass windows, which protect the measuring field against contamination. In addition, the device is open at the bottom, which guarantees that neither dirt nor water can fall into the gauge head. As there are no wearing parts included the gauge maintains a unique freedom of maintenance. The technological background of these gauge heads is a stateof-the-art CCD-line sensor technology, combined with laser diodes as light sources and an intelligent powerful software. 19 Specific measuring system for individual application X-RAY 6000 TRIAX with 6-point-wall thickness and ovality measurement including fault detection The X-RAY 6070 TRIAX is especially focused on the requirements at the production of composite tubes. It measures the wall thickness and ovality at 6 points and detects non-conformities at the product surface and in the inner tube at the same time. Due to the measuring rate of 100Hz, even the smallest blisters can reliably be detected. Besides wall thickness the X-RAY 6000 TRIAX also measures the ovality and diameter of the product with highest precision. X-RAY 6020 for ultra small products X-RAY 6020 is suitable for applications with minimum product diameters of 0.6 mm and maximum diameters of 15 mm and is therefore in particular suitable for medical tube applications. The development of new proprietary X-ray tubes permits the orientation of the X-ray beam for analysis of small diameters and wall thicknesses enabling SIKORA to break the barriers that previously limited these ultra small measurements. Fast, precisely and with a high reliability the dual and triple axis lump detectors LUMP 2000 XY and LUMP 2000 T detect even smallest lumps and neck- downs on hoses and tubes at all line speeds. LENGTH PERFECT SYNTHESIS OF QUALITY, RELIABILITY AND COST SAVING LENGTH 6000 Length measuring system for hoses and tubes LENGTH 6000 is a reliable system for non-contact online length measurement of hoses and tubes. For this method, the product image and its movement are defined and thus the speed and the produced length calculated. The technology of the LENGTH 6000 is based on an optical measuring principle. In combination with two laser diodes, two image sensors are positioned next to each other. In sequence the product passes both image sensors. The time, which the product needs in order to get from the first to the second sensor is measured. Even with reflective surfaces the highresolution image sensors determine their unique structure*. The technology of the LENGTH 6000, which defines the length through comparison of image patterns, is suitable for round products and for products with reflective surfaces. The system calculates the length independent from whether the product is going forward or backward. Moreover, the measurements start from zero line speed. ULTRATEMP ULTRA-PRODUCTIVE WITH ULTRASONIC ULTRATEMP 6000 Ultrasonic temperature measurement system for the measurement of PE-melts ULTRATEMP 6000* is a non-contact melt temperature measurement system based on non-invasive ultrasonic technology. It is specifically tailored to the production of polyethylene hoses and tubes. ULTRATEMP 6000 precisely measures the melt temperature during production and does not influence the melt flow properties. Therefore, melt shear heating effects, as they are typical with the use of thermo couples, do not occur. The system determines the melt homogeneity and thus ensures homogeneous melt viscosity for the extrusion process. Early cross-linking after screens, which may lead to ambers and scorches in the polyethylene material is avoided. The extremely high measuring rate allows a fast response time as well as the precise capture of small temperature variations. ULTRATEMP 6000 can be combined with the display and control systems ECOCONTROL 600, 1000 and 2000 ensuring an efficient production control. ECOCONTROL 2000, 1000 AND 600 POWERFUL PROCESSOR SYSTEMS WITH OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE Premium processor systems with 19 - / 15 - or TFT color monitor and touch-screen operation Three ECOCONTROL models belong to the premium segment of display and control devices by SIKORA. They attract special interest, due to its intelligent software technology, simplicity and ease of use for the operator. The ECOCONTROL-models offer all common interfaces for comfortable data transfer to a line PC. ECOCONTROL 2000 ECOCONTROL 2000* ECOCONTROL 2000 is an extremely powerful display and control processor system, which clearly brings the measuring values of the connected diameter and eccentricity devices into focus. In total, up to 8 measuring and test devices can be connected to the ECOCONTROL The measuring values are displayed numerically as well as graphically on a 19 - or 15 -TFT monitor. A clear line presentation with pictograms of the connected devices provides additional information. Moreover, it contains a time- and length-related trend diagram for the measured dimensions and a display of the statistical distribution curve of the measurements with the minimum, maximum and mean value, standard deviation, Cp and Cpk. The operation is menu-driven via touch-screen, designed to an intuitive use. All ECOCONTROL models allow an automatic control of the line speed or extruder rpm and provide a recording of the measuring values. For the ECOCONTROL 1000 and 2000 models data storage is also possible. Automatic diameter/wall thickness control A special feature of all ECOCONTROL models is the automatic control unit SET POINT. It ensures a continuous, automatic control of the diameter or wall thickness by controlling either the line speed or the extruder rpm. The diameter/wall thickness control provided is precise and stable due to optimal SIKORA factory settings for perfection in control for every product size and line speed. Hot/Cold module HC 2000 With the HC 2000, the material shrinkage is continuously calculated and taken into consideration with the control of the diameter/wall thickness. The SIKORA system compares the hot/cold values of the diameter at coincident points. This is achieved by means of a speed controlled delay time memory. * For applications with the X-RAY 6000 the ECOCONTROL 6000 is availabe. 20

27 VIRTUAL 2000* The virtual gauge technology is suitable for all applications, where due to the line configuration or the product structure a diameter or wall thickness measurement directly after the extruder is not possible. A reason could be a lack of space for a hot diameter gauge head or the need for an immediate cooling of the product after the extrusion. In those cases the intelligent software concept VIRTUAL 2000 is the solution: the measuring device is installed at the end of the cooling trough section. Up to now, the control of the extruder from the end of the line was very slow. The reason was the big delay time, a result of the low line speeds and the big distance between the measuring system and the extruder crosshead. This delay time is eliminated by the VIRTUAL Already at the start-up of the line the extruder model of the VIRTUAL 2000 calculates from the adjusted extruder rpm and line speed for a given inner diameter and compound the expected cold wall thickness. Hence, the VIRTUAL 2000 displays the cold wall thickness even before the product reaches the measuring system at the end of the line. Already during the start-up process the virtual gauge technology is able to control the required extruder rpm, in order to achieve the cold wall thickness, set by the operator. The control and the regulation of the extruder is done under consideration of the line speed, chosen by the operator. There is no need for any shrinkage setting.. ECOCONTROL 1000 ECOCONTROL 1000 ECOCONTROL 1000 offers two serial interfaces for the connection of measuring devices such as SIKORA s diameter gauges of the LASER Series 2000, 6000 or CENTRIX Additionally, test devices such as the LUMP 2000 series can be connected. 28 ECOCONTROL 600 ECOCONTROL 600 The innovative, compact and economic ECOCONTROL 600 utilizes a clear 8.4 -TFT touchscreen monitor and offers a serial interface for the connection of one measuring device. All ECOCONTROL models promise successful and futureoriented technology combined with remarkable straight forwardness. 2. REMOTE 2000 Basic display and control device REMOTE 2000 is a reliable processor-based display and control unit for hose and tube extrusion lines. It is suitable for panel mounting or for the installation directly on the gauge head. REMOTE 2000 can also be installed externally; it is universally applicable to all of SIKORA s measuring and test devices. The REMOTE 2000 offers a serial interface for the connection to a PC or SPC. A special feature of REMOTE 2000 is the automatic control in combination with the control module SET POINT (option) and the recording of the measuring values by an optionally available printer. REMOTE DISPLAY 2000 Universal display device DISPLAY 2000 DISPLAY 2000 is a modern display device for one measuring value that is applicable in combination with the SIKORA diameter measuring devices of the LASER Series 2000/6000. It is suitable for panel mounting or for installation on the gauge head and often used as a second display for a gauge head. The DISPLAY 2000 with a digit height of 25mm (1 ) can easily be read even from larger distances. The measuring values are featured 5-digit and device-specific configurable. Several DISPLAY 2000 can be connected to a diameter measuring head to display the diameter X, Y, average values and ovality. Particularly, for applications where the measuring systems are connected with a Profibus interface DISPLAY 2000 is an interesting and low cost complement. 22
